الٓمٓ
Alif–Lam–Meem.
Research verse 3:1 →
ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ
Allah—there is no god except Him, the Living, the *qayyūm*.
Research verse 3:2 →
نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ
He has gradually sent down upon you the Book with the truth, as one confirming what is between its hands; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel.
Research verse 3:3 →
مِن قَبْلُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ
before, as guidance for humankind, and He sent down the Criterion. Indeed, those who cover up (the truth of) the signs of Allah – for them is a severe punishment, and Allah is Mighty, Possessor of Vengeance.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ
Indeed, nothing in the earth nor in the heaven is hidden from Allah.
Research verse 3:5 →
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
He is the One who shapes you in the wombs as He wills. There is no god except Him, the Mighty, the Wise.
Research verse 3:6 →
هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
He is the One who has sent down to you the Writing: within it are signs that have been firmly set in place – they are the core of the Writing – and others are resembling. So as for those in whose hearts is deviation, they follow what is resembling of it, seeking the trial and seeking its outcome; yet none knows its outcome except Allah. And those deeply rooted in the knowledge say, “We have trusted in it; all is from our Lord.” And none takes heed except possessors of inner core.
Research verse 3:7 →
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ
Our Lord, do not make our hearts swerve after You have guided us, and grant for us, from Your very presence, a mercy; indeed, You are the Ever‑Bestowing.
Research verse 3:8 →
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ
Our Lord, indeed You are the gatherer of mankind for a Day in which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not break the appointed promise.
Research verse 3:9 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ
Indeed, those who have covered [the truth]—their wealth will never spare them, nor their children, from Allah in any way; and those are the fuel of the Fire.
Research verse 3:10 →
كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
[Their condition is] like the way of the people of Pharaoh and those before them: they belied Our signs, so Allah seized them for their tails (i.e., trailing consequences). And Allah is intense in the following‑up.
Research verse 3:11 →
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ
Say to those who have denied: “You will be overcome, and you will be gathered to Hell — and how wretched a resting-place it is.”
Research verse 3:12 →
قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا فِئَةٌ تُقَٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ
There has indeed been for you a sign in two groups that met: one group fighting in the path of Allah, and another (group) denying (the truth). They see them as twice their (own) number, with the seeing of the eye. And Allah reinforces with His help whom He wills. Indeed, in that is surely a lesson for possessors of insight.
Research verse 3:13 →
زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْبَنِينَ وَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِ ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلْخَيْلِ ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَٱلْحَرْثِ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلْمَـَٔابِ
Adorned for the people has been love of the cravings: from the women and the sons, and the heaps heaped up of gold and silver, and the marked horses, and the grazing livestock, and the tilled field. That is an enjoyment of the lowly life, while with Allah is the finest place of return.
Research verse 3:14 →
قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ
Say, “Shall I inform you of better than that for you? For those who are mindful (and protective) [of themselves] there are, with their Lord, gardens beneath which rivers flow, remaining in them, and spouses made pure, and approval from Allah. And Allah is all-seeing of the servants.”
Research verse 3:15 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Those who say, “Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so cover for us our tails (our trailing offenses) and shield us from the punishment of the Fire.”
Research verse 3:16 →
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ
The ones who endure, and the truthful ones, and the devoutly compliant ones, and the spenders, and the seekers of covering‑forgiveness in the pre‑dawn times.

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
Allah has borne witness that there is no god except Him – and [so have] the angels and those endowed with knowledge – [He is] upholding equity. There is no god except Him, the Mighty, the Wise.
Research verse 3:18 →
إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ
Indeed, the judgment‑way with Allah is the self‑surrender; and those who were given the Book did not differ except after the knowledge had come to them, seeking dominance among themselves. And whoever covers up the signs of Allah, then surely Allah is swift in the reckoning.
Research verse 3:19 →
فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ
So if they dispute with you, then say, “I have yielded my face to Allah, and whoever follows me [has done likewise].” And say to those who were given the Book and to the unlettered ones, “Have you yielded [yourselves]?” Then if they yield, they have indeed been guided; but if they turn away, then upon you is only the conveying. And Allah is Seeing of the servants.
Research verse 3:20 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Indeed, those who cover up (the truth of) Allah’s signs, and kill the prophets without any right, and kill those from among the people who enjoin equity—so give them news of a painful punishment.
Research verse 3:21 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
Those are the ones whose deeds have been nullified in this nearer life and the later one, and they have no helpers.
Research verse 3:22 →
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Have you not seen those who were given a share of the Book? They are called to the Book of God so that it may judge between them; then a group of them turns away, while they are ones who turn aside.
Research verse 3:23 →
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
That is because they said, “The Fire will never touch us except for a few counted days”; and what they used to fabricate deluded them in their judgment-system.
Research verse 3:24 →
فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
So what [will it be] when We gather them for a Day in which there is no doubt, and every self is paid in full what it earned, and they are not wronged?
Research verse 3:25 →
قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Say, “O Allah, Possessor of the dominion: You grant the dominion to whom You will, and You tear away the dominion from whom You will; and You strengthen whom You will, and You abase whom You will. In Your hand is the good; indeed, You are powerful over every thing.”
Research verse 3:26 →
تُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
You make the night enter into the day, and You make the day enter into the night; and You bring out the living from the dead, and You bring out the dead from the living; and You provide for whom You will without reckoning.
Research verse 3:27 →
لَّا يَتَّخِذِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ فِى شَىْءٍ إِلَّآ أَن تَتَّقُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ تُقَىٰةً وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
Let not the believers take the concealers (of truth) as protectors, apart from the believers; and whoever does that is not, in any way, from Allah—except that you guard yourselves against them as a protection. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the destination.
Research verse 3:28 →
قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا۟ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Say, “If you conceal what is within your chests or bring it out, Allah knows it; and He knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. And Allah is powerful over every thing.”
Research verse 3:29 →
يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مُّحْضَرًا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٍ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَدًۢا بَعِيدًا وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ
On the Day when every self will find present whatever it has done of good, and whatever it has done of bad, it will wish that there were a far stretch between it and that. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is most gentle towards the servants.
Research verse 3:30 →
قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Say, “If you are loving Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and will cover for you your tail-ends, and Allah is Ever-Covering, Ever-Merciful.”
Research verse 3:31 →
قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Say, “Obey Allah and the Messenger.” But if they turn away, then indeed Allah does not love those who cover [the truth].
Research verse 3:32 →
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Indeed, Allah has specially selected Adam and Noah and the house of Abraham and the house of ʿImrān above the communities.
Research verse 3:33 →
ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
An offspring—some of it from (the same as) others; and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
Research verse 3:34 →
إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
When the woman of ʿImrān said, “My Lord, I have indeed vowed to You what is in my womb, set free, so accept it from me; indeed, You — You are the Hearing, the Knowing.”
Research verse 3:35 →
فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ وَإِنِّى سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
So when she delivered her, she said, “My Lord, I have delivered her as a female,” and Allah is more knowing of what she delivered, “and the male is not like the female. And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You, and for her offspring, from the outcast satan.”
Research verse 3:36 →
فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا ٱلْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقًا قَالَ يَٰمَرْيَمُ أَنَّىٰ لَكِ هَٰذَا قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
So her Lord accepted her with a fine acceptance, and caused her to grow a fine growth, and entrusted her to Zakariyyā. Whenever Zakariyyā entered upon her in the chamber, he found provision with her. He said, “Mary, from where is this for you?” She said, “It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without reckoning.”
Research verse 3:37 →
هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ
Thereupon, Zechariah called upon his Lord; he said, “My Lord, grant to me, from Your very presence, a wholesome offspring; indeed, You are Hearing of the call.”
Research verse 3:38 →
فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
Then the angels called out to him while he was standing, performing ṣalāh, in the miḥrāb: “Indeed Allah gives you good tidings of Yaḥyā, one who confirms a word from Allah, and a leader, and one restrained, and a prophet from among the righteous.”
Research verse 3:39 →
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ
He said, “My Lord, how can there be a boy for me, when old age has reached me and my wife is barren?” He said, “So it is: Allah does whatever He wills.”
Research verse 3:40 →
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِ
He said, “My Lord, appoint for me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three days, except by gesture; and remember your Lord abundantly, and glorify [Him] in the evening and at daybreak.”
Research verse 3:41 →
وَإِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصْطَفَىٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And when the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah has selected you, and has purified you, and has selected you above the women of the worlds.”
Research verse 3:42 →
يَٰمَرْيَمُ ٱقْنُتِى لِرَبِّكِ وَٱسْجُدِى وَٱرْكَعِى مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ
O Mary, be devoutly constant for your Lord, and prostrate, and bow with those who bow.
Research verse 3:43 →
ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلَٰمَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
That is from the reports of the hidden (realm) which We reveal to you; and you were not with them when they were casting their pens (to see) which of them would sponsor Mary; and you were not with them when they were disputing.
Research verse 3:44 →
إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنْهُ ٱسْمُهُ ٱلْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهًا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
When the angels said, “O Mary, indeed God gives you good news of a word from Him: his name is the Anointed, ʿĪsā son of Mary, eminent in this world and the Hereafter, and [he will be] among those brought near.”
Research verse 3:45 →
وَيُكَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلًا وَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
And he will speak to the people in the cradle and as one in the fullness of strength, and [he will be] among the righteous.
Research verse 3:46 →
قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ ٱللَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
She said, “My Lord, how can there be for me a child when no human has touched me?” He said, “Thus is Allah: He creates whatever He wills. When He has decided a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.”
Research verse 3:47 →
وَيُعَلِّمُهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ
And He will teach him the Book, and the wisdom, and the Torah, and the Gospel.
Research verse 3:48 →
وَرَسُولًا إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنِّى قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ أَنِّىٓ أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيْـَٔةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًۢا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبْرِئُ ٱلْأَكْمَهَ وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ وَأُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And [He will make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel: “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: that I shape for you out of clay something like the form of a bird, then I blow into it and it becomes a bird by Allah’s leave; and I restore the one born blind and the leprous to health, and I bring the dead to life by Allah’s leave; and I inform you of what you eat and what you store up in your houses. Surely in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”
Research verse 3:49 →
وَمُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَجِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
And [I have come] confirming what is before me from the Torah, and so that I may loosen for you some of what was made forbidden to you; and I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so be wary of Allah and obey me.
Research verse 3:50 →
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so serve Him; this is a straight path.
Research verse 3:51 →
فَلَمَّآ أَحَسَّ عِيسَىٰ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنصَارِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ ٱللَّهِ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَٱشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
Then when Jesus sensed rejection from them, he said, “Who are my helpers toward Allah?” The disciples said, “We are Allah’s helpers; we have believed in Allah, so bear witness that we are ones who submit.”
Research verse 3:52 →
رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ وَٱتَّبَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱكْتُبْنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
Our Lord, we have trusted in what You have sent down and we have followed the messenger, so record us among the witnesses.
Research verse 3:53 →
وَمَكَرُوا۟ وَمَكَرَ ٱللَّهُ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَٰكِرِينَ
And they schemed, and Allah schemed; and Allah is the best of schemers.
Research verse 3:54 →
إِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ
When Allah said, “O Jesus, indeed I am one who fully takes you, and raising you to Myself, and cleansing you from those who covered [the truth]; and I am one who will make those who followed you above those who covered [the truth] until the Day of Standing. Then to Me is your return, so I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.”
Research verse 3:55 →
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
So as for those who covered [the truth], I will punish them with a severe punishment in this nearest life and the later one, and they will have no helpers.
Research verse 3:56 →
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And as for those who have believed and done the sound/wholesome deeds, He will pay them their rewards in full, and Allah does not love the wrongdoers.
Research verse 3:57 →
ذَٰلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ وَٱلذِّكْرِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
That is what We recite to you of the signs and the wise reminder.
Research verse 3:58 →
إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
Indeed, the likeness of Jesus, in the sight of Allah, is as the likeness of Adam: He created him from dust, then He said to him, “Be,” and so he comes to be.
Research verse 3:59 →
ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ
The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.
Research verse 3:60 →
فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
So whoever disputes with you concerning him after what has come to you of the knowledge, then say, “Come up here, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves; then let us earnestly implore, and so set the curse of God upon the liars.”
Research verse 3:61 →
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْقَصَصُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
Indeed, this is surely the true relating, and there is no god except Allah; and indeed, Allah—He is the Mighty, the Wise.
Research verse 3:62 →
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
So if they turn away, then indeed Allah is all‑knowing of the agents of corruption.
Research verse 3:63 →
قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍ سَوَآءٍۭ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُولُوا۟ ٱشْهَدُوا۟ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
Say, “O people of the scripture, come up to a statement that is even between us and between you: that we serve none but Allah, and that we do not join anything with Him, and that none of us takes others of us as lords apart from Allah. Then if they turn away, say, ‘Bear witness that we are ones who have surrendered (to Allah).’”
Research verse 3:64 →
يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ وَٱلْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
O People of the Book, why do you dispute concerning Abraham, while the Torah and the Gospel were not sent down except after him? Will you then not use your reason?
Research verse 3:65 →
هَٰٓأَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ حَٰجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
There you are – these very people – you have argued in what you do have knowledge of, so why do you argue concerning what you do not have knowledge of? And Allah knows, while you do not know.
Research verse 3:66 →
مَا كَانَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُّسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
Abraham was not a Jew, nor a Christian; rather, he was a devotedly-upright one, one who had submitted, and he was not among those who join [others with God].
Research verse 3:67 →
إِنَّ أَوْلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَٰذَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, the people with the strongest claim to Abraham are those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who have attained faith; and Allah is the ally / protecting patron of the believers.
Research verse 3:68 →
وَدَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
A group from the People of the Book would love it if they could cause you to go astray; yet they cause none to go astray except their own selves, and they do not perceive.
Research verse 3:69 →
يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ
O People of the Book, why do you cover up (reject) the signs of Allah while you yourselves are witnessing?
Research verse 3:70 →
يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
O people of the Book, why do you overlay the truth with what is null and conceal the truth while you know?
Research verse 3:71 →
وَقَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَجْهَ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱكْفُرُوٓا۟ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
And a group from the People of the Scripture said, “Acknowledge what has been sent down upon those who have believed at the face of the day, and reject it at its end, so that they might turn back.”
Research verse 3:72 →
وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
And do not put faith in anyone except one who follows your way of life. Say, “Indeed, the guidance is Allah’s guidance: that someone might be given the like of what you were given, or they might dispute with you before your Lord.” Say, “Indeed, the bounty is in the hand of Allah; He gives it to whom He wills, and Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.”
Research verse 3:73 →
يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
He singles out for His mercy whomever He wills, and Allah is the possessor of the tremendous bounty.
Research verse 3:74 →
وَمِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِى ٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
And among the People of the Book is one who, if you entrust him with a great heap, he will deliver it back to you; and among them is one who, if you entrust him with a single dīnār, he will not deliver it back to you except for as long as you remain standing over him. That is because they said, “There is no path against us regarding the unlettered ones.” And they say a lie against Allah while they know.
Research verse 3:75 →
بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
On the contrary: whoever fully honors His covenant and is conscious (of Him), then indeed Allah loves those who are conscious (of Him).
Research verse 3:76 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَا خَلَٰقَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Indeed, those who purchase, at the price of Allah’s covenant and their oaths, a trivial return – those will have no share in the Hereafter; and Allah will not speak to them, nor will He look towards them on the Day of Standing, nor will He make them pure; and for them is a painful punishment.
Research verse 3:77 →
وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُۥنَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
And indeed, among them is surely a faction who twist their tongues with the Book so that you reckon it to be from the Book, while it is not from the Book; and they say, “It is from with Allah,” while it is not from with Allah; and they say the lie against Allah while they know.
Research verse 3:78 →
مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا۟ عِبَادًا لِّى مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِن كُونُوا۟ رَبَّٰنِيِّـۧنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ
It has not been [fitting] for any human that Allah should grant him the Book, and the judgment, and the prophethood, then he would say to the people, “Be servants to me, apart from Allah”; but rather, [he would say], “Be devoted-to-the-Lord people, by virtue of how you have been teaching the Book and how you have been studying.”
Research verse 3:79 →
وَلَا يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَن تَتَّخِذُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ أَرْبَابًا أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِٱلْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
And he would not command you to take the angels and the prophets as lords. Would he command you to denial [of God] after you have already been in submission?
Research verse 3:80 →
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَٰبٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ قَالَ ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِى قَالُوٓا۟ أَقْرَرْنَا قَالَ فَٱشْهَدُوا۟ وَأَنَا۠ مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
And when Allah took the solemn bond of the prophets: “Whatever I have given you of a writing and wisdom, then a messenger comes to you, confirming what is with you — you shall indeed trust in him, and you shall indeed support him.” He said, “Have you acknowledged and taken upon that my burden?” They said, “We have acknowledged.” He said, “Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.”
Research verse 3:81 →
فَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
So whoever turns away after that – then those are the ones who are the defiantly deviant.
Research verse 3:82 →
أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ ٱللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ
So is it, then, other than Allah’s system of judgment that they seek, while to Him has yielded whoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly and unwillingly, and to Him they are returned?
Research verse 3:83 →
قُلْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ
Say, “We have trusted in Allah, and in what has been sent down upon us, and what was sent down upon Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Lineages, and what was brought to Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We do not separate between any one of them, and we are to Him ones who submit.”
Research verse 3:84 →
وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
And whoever seeks a way of judgment other than the self-surrender, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.
Research verse 3:85 →
كَيْفَ يَهْدِى ٱللَّهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلرَّسُولَ حَقٌّ وَجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
How would Allah guide a people who covered [the truth] after their trustful affirmation, and [after] they had testified that the Messenger is indeed the Truth, and clear evidences had come to them? And Allah does not guide the people who do wrong.
Research verse 3:86 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
Those – their recompense is that upon them is the banishment of Allah, and of the angels, and of all people together.
Research verse 3:87 →
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
Remaining therein, the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be given any reprieve.
Research verse 3:88 →
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Except those who turned back after that and set things right; then indeed Allah is All‑covering in forgiveness, ever‑merciful.
Research verse 3:89 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱزْدَادُوا۟ كُفْرًا لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
Indeed, those who covered [the truth] after their trustful security, then increased in covering [it]—their turning-back will never be received; and those, they are the ones who are astray.
Research verse 3:90 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِم مِّلْءُ ٱلْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا وَلَوِ ٱفْتَدَىٰ بِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
Indeed, those who covered [the truth] and died while they were ones who cover [it]—never will the fill of the earth in gold be received from any one of them, even if he were to ransom himself with it. Those—there is for them a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.
Research verse 3:91 →
لَن تَنَالُوا۟ ٱلْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ
You will never attain the birr until you spend out of what you love; and whatever you spend of anything, then Allah is, of it, All-Knowing.
Research verse 3:92 →
كُلُّ ٱلطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ فَٱتْلُوهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Every kind of food had been permitted for the Children of Israel, except what Israel had declared forbidden upon himself before the Torah was sent down. Say, “Then bring the Torah and recite it, if you are truthful.”
Research verse 3:93 →
فَمَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
So whoever fabricates the lie against Allah after that – then those, they are the wrongdoers.
Research verse 3:94 →
قُلْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ فَٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
Say, “Allah has spoken truly; so follow the creed of Abraham, as a pure devotee, and he was not among those who join [others with Him].”
Research verse 3:95 →
إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِى بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Indeed, the first house established for mankind is surely the one at Bakkah—blessed and a guidance for all communities.
Research verse 3:96 →
فِيهِ ءَايَٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَٰتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًا وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
In it are evident signs, [including] the station of Abraham; and whoever enters it is secure. And for Allah, upon the people, is the *ḥijj* to the House — for whoever is able to find a way to it. And whoever covers [and rejects], then indeed Allah is independent of all the worlds.
Research verse 3:97 →
قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَ
Say, “O people of the Book, why do you cover up (the truth of) Allah’s signs, while Allah is a witness over what you do?”
Research verse 3:98 →
قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَآءُ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Say, “O People of the Book, why do you bar from the path of Allah those who have believed, seeking for it crookedness, while you are witnesses? And Allah is not heedless of what you do.”
Research verse 3:99 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ فَرِيقًا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كَٰفِرِينَ
O you who have believed, if you obey a faction from among those who were given the Scripture, they will turn you back, after your faith, into deniers.
Research verse 3:100 →
وَكَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ وَأَنتُمْ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُهُۥ وَمَن يَعْتَصِم بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ هُدِىَ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
And how can you cover [the truth] while the signs of Allah are being recited to you, and His messenger is among you? And whoever clings firmly to Allah has indeed been guided to a straight path.
Research verse 3:101 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِۦ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
O you who have attained faith, be wary of Allah with the true measure of wariness due to Him, and do not die except while you are ones who have submitted.
Research verse 3:102 →
وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَآءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰنًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
And cling together to the bond of Allah, all of you, and do not split apart. And recall Allah’s pleasant favor upon you: when you were enemies, then He brought your hearts into mutual harmony, so you became, by His favor, as brothers. And you were upon the brink of a pit from the Fire, then He snatched you away from it. Thus does Allah make His signs clear to you, so that you might be guided.
Research verse 3:103 →
وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
And let there be from among you a community that calls toward the good, and commands with what is recognized, and restrains from what is disapproved; and it is those who are the ones who prosper.
Research verse 3:104 →
وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
And do not be like those who split apart and fell into disagreement after the clear evidences had come to them; and those – for them is a tremendous punishment.
Research verse 3:105 →
يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
A day when faces will turn white and faces will turn black. So as for those whose faces have turned black: “Did you cover [the truth] after your trustful security? Then taste the correction for what you used to cover.”
Research verse 3:106 →
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱبْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِى رَحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
And as for those whose faces have turned white, then they are in Allah’s mercy; they are ones who remain therein.
Research verse 3:107 →
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Those are Allah’s signs that We recite to you in truth, and Allah does not intend any wrongdoing for the worlds.
Research verse 3:108 →
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and to Allah the affairs are returned.
Research verse 3:109 →
كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
You have been the best community brought out for mankind: you enjoin what is recognized [as right], and you forbid what is disapproved [as wrong], and you are secure in faith toward God. If only the People of the Scripture had attained faith, it would have been better for them. Among them are those who are faithful, but most of them are those who break away [from what is right].
Research verse 3:110 →
لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًى وَإِن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ
They will never harm you except with (some) hurt; and if they fight you, they will turn their backs to you, then they will not be helped.
Research verse 3:111 →
ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا بِحَبْلٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ
Lowliness has been imposed upon them, wherever they are encountered, except by a bond from Allah and a bond from the people; and they returned burdened with anger from Allah, and neediness has been imposed upon them. That is because they used to deny the signs of Allah and kill the prophets without right. That is because they disobeyed and used to transgress.
Research verse 3:112 →
لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءً مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أُمَّةٌ قَآئِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ
They are not alike. From the People of the Book is a community, upright, reciting the signs of Allah through the stretches of the night, while they are prostrating.
Research verse 3:113 →
يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
They trust in Allah and the Last Day, and they instruct to what is recognized [as right] and restrain from what is disapproved, and they hasten in the good things; and those are among the ones who are soundly set right.
Research verse 3:114 →
وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
And whatever good they do, it will never be denied to them; and Allah is all‑knowing of those who are mindful (of Him).
Research verse 3:115 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
Indeed, those who have covered [the truth]—their wealth and their children will never spare them, in any way, from Allah; and those are the companions of the Fire; they are ones remaining in it.
Research verse 3:116 →
مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
The likeness of what they spend in this present, nearer life is like the likeness of a wind in which is a piercing chill, that strikes the cultivated field of a people who have wronged themselves, and so it destroys it. And Allah did not wrong them, but they themselves are the ones who wrong themselves.
Research verse 3:117 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا۟ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
O you who have believed, do not take as an inner circle anyone other than your own; they will not fall short in [seeking] your ruin. They love that you suffer hardship. Hatred has already become evident from their mouths, and what their chests conceal is greater. We have certainly made the signs clear to you, if you use reason.
Research verse 3:118 →
هَٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ بِغَيْظِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
Here you are—those ones: you love them, while they do not love you; and you affirm the Book, all of it. And when they meet you, they say, “We have affirmed (it),” but when they withdraw in private, they bite at you their fingertips out of rage. Say, “Die with your rage. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what is (hidden) within the chests.”
Research verse 3:119 →
إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ
If a good [thing] touches you, it grieves them; and if a bad [thing] strikes you, they rejoice in it. But if you endure and are conscious [of Allah], their plotting will not harm you in any way. Indeed, Allah is all‑encompassing regarding what they do.
Research verse 3:120 →
وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
And when you set out early from your people, assigning the believers positions for fighting, while Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
Research verse 3:121 →
إِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
When two groups from among you resolved to lose heart, while Allah was their guardian; and upon Allah, then, let the believers place their trust.
Research verse 3:122 →
وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
And indeed Allah supported you at Badr while you were humble and weak; so be mindful of Allah, so that you may show gratitude.
Research verse 3:123 →
إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَٰثَةِ ءَالَٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ
When you were saying to the believers, “Will it not suffice you that your Lord extends support to you with three thousand from among the angels, sent down?”
Research verse 3:124 →
بَلَىٰٓ إِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ ءَالَٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ
Yes indeed! If you endure and are mindful [of God], and they come at you immediately in this very rush, your Lord will extend support to you with five thousand from among the angels, ones marked out.
Research verse 3:125 →
وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِۦ وَمَا ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
And Allah made it only as a glad announcement for you, and so that your hearts might become calm by it; and there is no support except from Allah, the Strong, the Wise.
Research verse 3:126 →
لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَآئِبِينَ
so that He may cut off a portion of those who have covered [the truth], or abase them, and so they turn back thwarted.
Research verse 3:127 →
لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ
The matter is not yours at all: whether He turns back toward them, or punishes them, for indeed they are wrongdoers.
Research verse 3:128 →
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth; He covers over (sins) for whomever He wills and disciplines whomever He wills, and Allah is All‑Covering (of faults), Ever‑Merciful.
Research verse 3:129 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوا۟ ٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟ أَضْعَٰفًا مُّضَٰعَفَةً وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
O you who have believed, do not consume the increase, as multiplied, many times over; and be mindful of Allah, so that you may succeed.
Research verse 3:130 →
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And be wary of the Fire which has been made ready for those who cover [the truth].
Research verse 3:131 →
وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
And obey Allah and the Messenger so that you may be shown mercy.
Research verse 3:132 →
وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
And race towards forgiveness from your Lord, and a garden whose expanse is the heavens and the earth, prepared for the God-conscious.
Research verse 3:133 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Those who spend in times of ease and in times of hardship, and those who suppress rage, and those who forgo (offense) regarding people – and Allah loves the ones who excel in doing good.
Research verse 3:134 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
And those who, when they do an outrageous indecency or have darkened/wronged their own selves, remember God and so seek covering-forgiveness for their tails (of deeds) — and who is it that covers-forgives tails (of deeds) except God? — and they do not persist, bound to what they have done, while they know.
Research verse 3:135 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ
Those – their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, remaining therein; and excellent is the reward of the workers.
Research verse 3:136 →
قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Indeed, patterns have passed away before you, so travel through the land and then look how the outcome was for the deniers.
Research verse 3:137 →
هَٰذَا بَيَانٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
This is a clarification for humanity, and a guidance and an admonition for those who are mindful (of protection).
Research verse 3:138 →
وَلَا تَهِنُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
So do not lose strength, and do not grieve, while you are the higher ones, if you are believers.
Research verse 3:139 →
إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَآءَ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
If a wound touches you, then a wound like it has already touched the people; and those are the days We cause to alternate among the people, so that Allah may make known those who have believed and may take from among you witnesses; and Allah does not love the wrongdoers.
Research verse 3:140 →
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَمْحَقَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And so that Allah may refine those who have believed, and wipe out the deniers.
Research verse 3:141 →
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Or did you reckon that you would enter the Garden, while Allah has not yet made known those of you who strove, and made known those who endure?
Research verse 3:142 →
وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ
And you were certainly wishing for death before you encountered it; so now you have seen it, while you were looking on.
Research verse 3:143 →
وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
And Muhammad is nothing but a messenger; messengers have indeed passed away before him. So if he dies or is killed, will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his two heels will never harm Allah in any way, and Allah will soon recompense the grateful.
Research verse 3:144 →
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ كِتَٰبًا مُّؤَجَّلًا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَسَنَجْزِى ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
And no self could be to die except by Allah’s leave — a term-writing that is deferred. And whoever wants the return of this nearer life, We will give him from it; and whoever wants the return of the later one, We will give him from it. And We will indeed recompense the grateful.
Research verse 3:145 →
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِىٍّ قَٰتَلَ مَعَهُۥ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا۟ لِمَآ أَصَابَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا۟ وَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
And how many a prophet there was: with him many devoted ones (to the Lord) fought; yet they did not slacken because of what struck them in the path of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they yield, and Allah loves those who endure.
Research verse 3:146 →
وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And their saying was nothing but that they said, “Our Lord, cover for us our tails and our excess in our affair, and make our feet firm, and support us against the people who cover [the truth].”
Research verse 3:147 →
فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
So Allah brought to them the recompense of this nearest life and the finest recompense of the later one; and Allah loves those who excel in doing good.
Research verse 3:148 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَٰسِرِينَ
O you who have attained faith, if you obey those who have denied (the truth), they will turn you back upon your heels, so that you then turn about as losers.
Research verse 3:149 →
بَلِ ٱللَّهُ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلنَّٰصِرِينَ
Rather, Allah is your ally, and He is the best of the helpers.
Research verse 3:150 →
سَنُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ بِمَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
We shall cast dread into the hearts of those who have denied, because of what they have made partners with Allah—something for which He has not sent down any authority. And their shelter is the Fire, and how miserable is the place of staying for the wrongdoers.
Research verse 3:151 →
وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥٓ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِۦ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَٰزَعْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And Allah has indeed proven true His promise to you when you were cutting them down by His permission, until when you lost heart and disputed concerning the matter and rebelled, after He had shown you what you love. Among you is one who wants the nearer life, and among you is one who wants the later one. Then He turned you away from them to test you; and He has indeed pardoned you, and Allah is possessor of bounty toward the believers.
Research verse 3:152 →
إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُۥنَ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ وَٱلرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِىٓ أُخْرَىٰكُمْ فَأَثَٰبَكُمْ غَمًّۢا بِغَمٍّ لِّكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
When you were ascending and not turning towards anyone, while the Messenger was calling you from your rear, then He requited you with gloom upon gloom so that you would not grieve over what had escaped you nor over what had struck you. And Allah is fully aware of what you do.
Research verse 3:153 →
ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُّعَاسًا يَغْشَىٰ طَآئِفَةً مِّنكُمْ وَطَآئِفَةٌ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ ظَنَّ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ مِن شَىْءٍ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُۥ لِلَّهِ يُخْفُونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم مَّا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ مَّا قُتِلْنَا هَٰهُنَا قُل لَّوْ كُنتُمْ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَتْلُ إِلَىٰ مَضَاجِعِهِمْ وَلِيَبْتَلِىَ ٱللَّهُ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
Then, after the distress, He sent down upon you a security: drowsiness, covering a group of you; while another group, their own selves preoccupied them, thinking about Allah other than the truth — the thought of the Age of Ignorance. They say, “Is there for us, in the matter, anything at all?” Say, “Indeed, the matter, all of it, belongs to Allah.” They conceal within themselves what they do not disclose to you; they say, “If there had been for us, in the matter, anything at all, we would not have been killed here.” Say, “Even if you had been in your houses, those for whom killing had been written would surely have gone forth to their resting‑places — so that Allah may test what is in your chests, and that He may refine what is in your hearts. And Allah is Knowing of what is within the chests.”
Research verse 3:154 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا۟ مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا ٱسْتَزَلَّهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
Indeed, those of you who turned away on the day the two groups met, it was only that Satan made them slip because of some of what they had earned; yet Allah has certainly pardoned them. Indeed, Allah is Ever‑Covering [of faults], Forbearing.
Research verse 3:155 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا۟ غُزًّى لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا۟ وَمَا قُتِلُوا۟ لِيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
O you who have attained faith, do not be like those who covered [the truth] and said about their brothers, when they set out in the land or were raiders in battle, “If they had been with us, they would not have died and would not have been killed” — so that Allah may make that a source of anguish in their hearts. And Allah gives life and causes death, and Allah is Seeing of what you do.
Research verse 3:156 →
وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ
And if you are indeed killed in the path of Allah, or you die, then forgiveness from Allah and mercy are better than what they accumulate.
Research verse 3:157 →
وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
And surely, if you die or are killed, you will certainly be gathered to Allah.
Research verse 3:158 →
فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ
So it was by a mercy from Allah that you were gentle toward them; and if you had been coarse, hard of heart, they would surely have broken away from around you. So forgo them, and seek forgiveness for them, and consult them in the matter; then when you have resolved, rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely (upon Him).
Research verse 3:159 →
إِن يَنصُرْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْ وَإِن يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَنصُرُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
If Allah supports you, then there is no overcomer of you; but if He abandons you, then who is there that can support you after Him? And upon Allah, then, let the believers place their trust.
Research verse 3:160 →
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِىٍّ أَن يَغُلَّ وَمَن يَغْلُلْ يَأْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
And it was not for any prophet to be treacherous; and whoever is treacherous will come with what he was treacherous about on the Day of Resurrection. Then every soul will be paid in full for what it earned, and they will not be wronged.
Research verse 3:161 →
أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
So is one who followed the approval of Allah like one who came back with displeasure from Allah, while his shelter is Hell? And miserable is the outcome.
Research verse 3:162 →
هُمْ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ
They are [of] ranks with Allah, and Allah is all-seeing of what they do.
Research verse 3:163 →
لَقَدْ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
Allah has indeed bestowed [a gracious] favor upon the believers when He raised up among them a messenger from their own selves, reciting His signs to them, and refining them, and teaching them the Book and the wisdom, while they had surely been, before that, in evident error.
Research verse 3:164 →
أَوَلَمَّآ أَصَٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَدْ أَصَبْتُم مِّثْلَيْهَا قُلْتُمْ أَنَّىٰ هَٰذَا قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
So is it that when a misfortune struck you—while you had already struck (them) with twice as much—you said, “From where is this?” Say, “It is from your own selves.” Indeed, Allah is powerful over every thing.
Research verse 3:165 →
وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And whatever befell you on the day the two groups met was by Allah’s leave, and so that He may make the believers known.
Research verse 3:166 →
وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا۟ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ قَٰتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوِ ٱدْفَعُوا۟ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًا لَّٱتَّبَعْنَٰكُمْ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْإِيمَٰنِ يَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُونَ
and so that He may make known those who acted with hypocrisy. And it was said to them, “Come up: engage in fighting in the path of Allah, or (at least) repel (the enemy).” They said, “If we knew (there would be) fighting, we would surely have followed you.” They, on that day, were nearer to denial than to trust. They say with their mouths what is not in their hearts, and Allah is most knowing of what they conceal.
Research verse 3:167 →
ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ وَقَعَدُوا۟ لَوْ أَطَاعُونَا مَا قُتِلُوا۟ قُلْ فَٱدْرَءُوا۟ عَنْ أَنفُسِكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Those who said to their brothers while they themselves stayed back, “If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed.” Say, “Then repel death away from yourselves, if you are truthful.”
Research verse 3:168 →
وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتًۢا بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ
And do not ever reckon those who have been killed in the path of Allah as dead; rather, they are living, with their Lord, being provided for.
Research verse 3:169 →
فَرِحِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا۟ بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
Rejoicing in what Allah has brought to them from His bounty, and they are receiving good news about those who have not yet joined them, from behind them, that there is no fear upon them, nor do they grieve.
Research verse 3:170 →
يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
They rejoice in a blessing from Allah and a bounty, and that Allah does not let the reward of the believers go to waste.
Research verse 3:171 →
ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْقَرْحُ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
Those who responded to Allah and the Messenger after the wound had struck them – for those among them who excelled in doing good and were mindful (of Allah), there is a tremendous reward.
Research verse 3:172 →
ٱلَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَٰنًا وَقَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ
Those to whom the people said, “Indeed, the people have certainly gathered against you, so fear them,” but it only increased them in faith, and they said, “Allah is enough for us, and what an excellent trustee (to entrust affairs to).”
Research verse 3:173 →
فَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوٓءٌ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ
So they turned back with a blessing from Allah and an extra bounty; no evil touched them, and they followed the approval of Allah, and Allah is possessor of tremendous bounty.
Research verse 3:174 →
إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
It is only that Satan who instills fear into his close allies; so do not fear them, but fear Me, if you are believers.
Research verse 3:175 →
وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
And let not those who rush in disbelief grieve you; they will never harm Allah in any way. Allah intends that He not assign for them any portion in the Hereafter, and for them is a tremendous punishment.
Research verse 3:176 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Indeed, those who have exchanged the denial for the trust will never harm Allah in anything, and for them is a painful punishment.
Research verse 3:177 →
وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِّأَنفُسِهِمْ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟ إِثْمًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ
And let not those who have denied reckon that what We grant them as respite is anything good for themselves. We only grant them respite so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a degrading punishment.
Research verse 3:178 →
مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَجْتَبِى مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
Allah has not been such as to leave the believers upon what you are upon until He distinguishes the corrupt from the good. And Allah has not been such as to make you informed about the unseen; but Allah selects, from His messengers, whom He wills. So have faith in Allah and His messengers; and if you have faith and are mindful (of Him), then for you is a tremendous reward.
Research verse 3:179 →
وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَّهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
And let not those who withhold what Allah has given them from His bounty ever reckon that it is better for them; rather, it is worse for them. They will be collared with what they were stingy about on the Day of Resurrection. And to Allah belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is fully aware of what you do.
Research verse 3:180 →
لَّقَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَقِيرٌ وَنَحْنُ أَغْنِيَآءُ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَالُوا۟ وَقَتْلَهُمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
Allah has indeed heard the speech of those who said, “Surely Allah is poor while we are rich.” We will soon write down what they said, and their killing of the prophets without right, and We will say, “Taste the punishment of the burning.”
Research verse 3:181 →
ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
That is because of what your hands have sent ahead, and [because] Allah is not one who greatly wrongs the servants.
Research verse 3:182 →
ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَآ أَلَّا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٍ تَأْكُلُهُ ٱلنَّارُ قُلْ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِى بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِٱلَّذِى قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Those who said, “Indeed, Allah has imposed upon us that we are not to trust in any messenger until he comes to us with an offering which the fire consumes.” Say, “Messengers have already come to you before me with the clear proofs and with what you mentioned; so why did you kill them, if you are truthful?”
Research verse 3:183 →
فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ
So if they deny you, then indeed messengers before you were denied, who came with the clear evidences, and the writings, and the illuminating Book.
Research verse 3:184 →
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ ٱلنَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْغُرُورِ
Every self is one that will taste death; and you are only fully repaid your rewards on the Day of Standing. So whoever is shifted away from the Fire and made to enter the Garden has indeed succeeded. And the life of this nearer world is nothing but an enjoyment of delusion.
Research verse 3:185 →
لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَذًى كَثِيرًا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ
You will certainly be tested in your wealth and your selves, and you will certainly hear from those who were given the Scripture before you, and from those who joined [others] as partners, much hurtful offense. But if you endure and are mindful [of God], then that is indeed among the matters of firm resolve.
Research verse 3:186 →
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُۥ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُۥ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَ
And when Allah took the firm pledge from those who had been given the Book: “You will surely make it clear to the people and you will not conceal it.” Then they flung it away behind their backs and acquired through it a paltry price—how vile is what they are acquiring.
Research verse 3:187 →
لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَوا۟ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَن يُحْمَدُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا۟ فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُم بِمَفَازَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Do not ever suppose that those who exult in what they have come with, and love to be praised for what they did not do – so do not ever suppose them to be at any escape from the punishment; and for them is a painful punishment.
Research verse 3:188 →
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is capable over every thing.
Research verse 3:189 →
إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
Indeed, in the bringing-into-formation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of the night and the day, there are signs for possessors of the core (of hearts).
Research verse 3:190 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلًا سُبْحَٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Those who remember Allah standing, and sitting, and on their sides, and who reflect within the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord, You have not created this as something vain; You are far above (that). So shield us from the punishment of the Fire.”
Research verse 3:191 →
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ ٱلنَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُۥ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ
Our Lord, indeed whoever You cause to enter the Fire, then You have surely humiliated him; and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.
Research verse 3:192 →
رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِى لِلْإِيمَٰنِ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامَنَّا رَبَّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ
Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to the faith: “Believe in your Lord,” so we have believed. Our Lord, so cover for us our tails (i.e., our sins) and efface from us our evil deeds, and take us in full measure together with the truly pure.
Research verse 3:193 →
رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ
Our Lord, and grant us what You have promised us upon Your messengers, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Standing; indeed, You do not break the appointed promise.
Research verse 3:194 →
فَٱسْتَجَابَ لَهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ أَنِّى لَآ أُضِيعُ عَمَلَ عَٰمِلٍ مِّنكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ فَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ وَأُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَأُوذُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِى وَقَٰتَلُوا۟ وَقُتِلُوا۟ لَأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ثَوَابًا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلثَّوَابِ
So their Lord responded to them: “Indeed, I am one who does not let go to waste the work of any worker among you, whether male or female; you are from one another. So those who left (their homes) and were driven out from their dwellings and were hurt in My path, and fought and were killed – I will most surely cover over from them their evil deeds, and I will most surely admit them into gardens beneath which rivers flow, as a recompense from alongside God; and God – with Him is the finest recompense.”
Research verse 3:195 →
لَا يَغُرَّنَّكَ تَقَلُّبُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ
Do not let the going‑to‑and‑fro of those who have denied (the truth) in the lands delude you.
Research verse 3:196 →
مَتَٰعٌ قَلِيلٌ ثُمَّ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ
A slight enjoyment; then their shelter is Hell, and how miserable is the bedding.
Research verse 3:197 →
لَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا نُزُلًا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِّلْأَبْرَارِ
But as for those who were conscious of their Lord, for them are gardens beneath which rivers flow, remaining therein, as a first hospitality from alongside Allah; and what is with Allah is better for the devotedly pure.
Research verse 3:198 →
وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَمَن يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَٰشِعِينَ لِلَّهِ لَا يَشْتَرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ
And indeed, among the People of the Book is one who truly trusts in God and in what has been sent down to you and what has been sent down to them, humbly subdued before God; they do not trade away God’s signs for a small price. Those – theirs is their recompense with their Lord. Indeed, God is swift in the reckoning.
Research verse 3:199 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱصْبِرُوا۟ وَصَابِرُوا۟ وَرَابِطُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
O you who have secured [faith], endure, and outlast [others in endurance], and stay on guard, and be wary of Allah, so that you may attain success.
Research verse 3:200 →
