Surah Ali 'Imran (3:135)
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
And those who, when they do an outrageous indecency or have darkened/wronged their own selves, remember God and so seek covering-forgiveness for their tails (of deeds) — and who is it that covers-forgives tails (of deeds) except God? — and they do not persist, bound to what they have done, while they know.
