الٓمٓصٓ
Alif. Lam. Meem. Sad.
Research verse 7:1 →
كِتَٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُن فِى صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِّنْهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
A written decree has been sent down to you, so let there not be any constraint in your chest regarding it, so that you may warn by means of it, and [so that it may be] a reminder for the believers.
Research verse 7:2 →
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow, apart from Him, patrons; how little you take heed.
Research verse 7:3 →
وَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا فَجَآءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَٰتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُونَ
And how many a town have We destroyed, so Our might came upon it by night, or while they were taking midday rest.
Research verse 7:4 →
فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ إِذْ جَآءَهُم بَأْسُنَآ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
Then their only plea, when Our might came upon them, was that they said, “Indeed, we had been wrongdoers.”
Research verse 7:5 →
فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Then We will surely question those to whom [it] was sent, and We will surely question the ones sent.
Research verse 7:6 →
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيْهِم بِعِلْمٍ وَمَا كُنَّا غَآئِبِينَ
Then We will most surely recount it to them with [full] knowledge, and We had never been absent.
Research verse 7:7 →
وَٱلْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْحَقُّ فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
And the weighing on that Day is the truth; so whoever’s balances are heavy – then it is they who are the ones who prosper.
Research verse 7:8 →
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ
And whoever’s scales are light – then those are the ones who have lost themselves because of how they used to wrong Our signs.
Research verse 7:9 →
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
And We have certainly given you firm standing in the earth and placed for you in it means of living; little is it that you show gratitude.
Research verse 7:10 →
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
And indeed We created you, then We shaped you, then We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam,” so they bowed down, except for Iblees; he was not among those who bowed down.
Research verse 7:11 →
قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍ
He said, “What held you back from that you should not bow down when I commanded you?” He said, “I am better than him; You created me from fire, and You created him from clay.”
Research verse 7:12 →
قَالَ فَٱهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَٱخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ
He said, “So fall down from it; it is not for you to act arrogantly in it. So go out—indeed, you are surely among the diminished.”
Research verse 7:13 →
قَالَ أَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
He said, “Grant me respite until the Day they are raised up.”
Research verse 7:14 →
قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
He said, “Indeed, you are surely among those granted delay.”
Research verse 7:15 →
قَالَ فَبِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَٰطَكَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
He said, “Then, by that with which You have led me astray, I will surely sit in ambush for them upon Your straight path.”
Research verse 7:16 →
ثُمَّ لَـَٔاتِيَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ وَعَن شَمَآئِلِهِمْ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَٰكِرِينَ
Then I will most surely come at them from in front of them and from behind them, and from their right and from their left; and you will not find most of them as ones who are grateful.
Research verse 7:17 →
قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَّدْحُورًا لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
He said, “Get out of it, blamed and driven away. Whoever follows you from among them—I will surely fill Hell with all of you, altogether.”
Research verse 7:18 →
وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And [We said], “O Adam, settle you and your spouse in the garden, and eat from wherever you both wish; but do not come near this tree, lest you both become among the wrongdoers.”
Research verse 7:19 →
فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لِيُبْدِىَ لَهُمَا مَا وُۥرِىَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَىٰكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلْخَٰلِدِينَ
Then Satan whispered to both of them, to make apparent to them what had been concealed from them of their badnesses, and he said, “Your Lord did not forbid you from this tree except that you should become angels, or that you should become among those who remain (enduring).”
Research verse 7:20 →
وَقَاسَمَهُمَآ إِنِّى لَكُمَا لَمِنَ ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ
And he swore to them both, “Indeed, I am surely among those who are pure in counsel for you.”
Research verse 7:21 →
فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا ٱلشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَنَادَىٰهُمَا رَبُّهُمَآ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا ٱلشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَآ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ
So he let them down by delusion. Then when they tasted the tree, their bad things became apparent to them, and they began patching over themselves from the foliage of the Garden. And their Lord called out to them, “Did I not forbid you from that tree and say to you that Satan is indeed a clear enemy to you both?”
Research verse 7:22 →
قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
They both said, “Our Lord, we have wronged our own selves; and if You do not cover for us and show us mercy, we will surely be among the losers.”
Research verse 7:23 →
قَالَ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
He said, “Go down—some of you are an enemy to others—and for you on the earth is a place of settlement and a provision until a time.”
Research verse 7:24 →
قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ
He said, “In it you shall live, and in it you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out.”
Research verse 7:25 →
يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
O children of Adam, We have indeed sent down upon you a garment that covers your shameful parts, and [also] adornment; but the garment of conscientious wariness—that is better. That is among the signs of Allah, so that they might remember.
Research verse 7:26 →
يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ لَا يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ كَمَآ أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتِهِمَآ إِنَّهُۥ يَرَىٰكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُۥ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
O children of Adam, let not the Satan put you to trial as he caused your two parents to go out from the garden, pulling off from them their clothing to show them their badnesses. Indeed, he sees you—he and his group—from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the satans close protectors for those who do not believe.
Research verse 7:27 →
وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَآ ءَابَآءَنَا وَٱللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
And when they commit an indecency, they say, “We found our fathers upon it, and Allah has commanded us to it.” Say, “Indeed, Allah does not command indecency. Do you say about Allah what you do not know?”
Research verse 7:28 →
قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّى بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَٱدْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ
Say, “My Lord has commanded equity. And set your faces upright at every place of prostration, and call upon Him, purifying the judgment for Him alone. As He began you, so you return.”
Research verse 7:29 →
فَرِيقًا هَدَىٰ وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ إِنَّهُمُ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ
A group He guided, and a group — error became binding upon them, for they took the devils as protectors apart from Allah, while they reckon that they are rightly guided.
Research verse 7:30 →
يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ خُذُوا۟ زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَكُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ وَلَا تُسْرِفُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
O children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prostration, and eat and drink, but do not be extravagant; indeed, He does not love the extravagant.
Research verse 7:31 →
قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ وَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلرِّزْقِ قُلْ هِىَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ
Say, “Who has made unlawful the adornment of God which He has brought out for His servants, and the wholesome things from provision?” Say, “They are for those who have attained faith in the present life, [and] exclusively [for them] on the Day of Standing.” Thus We distinguish the signs for a people who know.
Research verse 7:32 →
قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّىَ ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَٱلْإِثْمَ وَٱلْبَغْىَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَأَن تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَأَن تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Say, “My Lord has only made forbidden the outrageous indecencies—what of them is outward and what is inward—and the sin, and the overstepping in defiance without right, and that you join with Allah what He has not sent down any authority for, and that you say about Allah what you do not know.”
Research verse 7:33 →
وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
And for every community there is a term; so when their term comes, they do not delay it by an instant, nor do they advance it.
Research verse 7:34 →
يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِى فَمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
O children of Adam, whenever messengers come to you from among yourselves, recounting My signs to you, then whoever is conscious (of Me) and sets things right – no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.
Research verse 7:35 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
But those who declared Our signs to be lies and grew arrogant away from them – those are the companions of the Fire; they are ones who remain in it.
Research verse 7:36 →
فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَٰفِرِينَ
So who is more darkly unjust than one who fabricates a lie against God, or denies His signs? Those—what is inscribed will reach them from the Writing, until, when Our messengers come to them, taking them in full, they say, “Where is whatever you used to call upon apart from God?” They say, “They have been lost from us,” and they testify against themselves that they had been deniers.
Research verse 7:37 →
قَالَ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ فِىٓ أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱدَّارَكُوا۟ فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَىٰهُمْ لِأُولَىٰهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَـَٔاتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَعْلَمُونَ
He said, “Enter among communities that have already passed away before you, from the unseen beings and humankind, into the Fire.” Whenever a community enters, it curses its sister, until when they have all caught up with one another in it altogether, the last of them will say to the first of them, “Our Lord, these are the ones who led us astray, so give them a doubled punishment from the Fire.” He will say, “For each one there is a doubling, but you do not know.”
Research verse 7:38 →
وَقَالَتْ أُولَىٰهُمْ لِأُخْرَىٰهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ
And the foremost of them will say to the last of them, “So you had no advantage over us; therefore taste the punishment for what you used to earn.”
Research verse 7:39 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَٰبُ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ ٱلْجَمَلُ فِى سَمِّ ٱلْخِيَاطِ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
Indeed, those who declared Our signs to be lies and grew arrogant away from them – the gates of the sky will not be opened for them, nor will they enter the Garden until the camel passes into the eye of the needle; and thus We recompense the criminals.
Research verse 7:40 →
لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
For them, from Hell, is a bedding, and from above them are coverings; and thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.
Research verse 7:41 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
And those who have believed and done the sound/wholesome deeds — We do not burden any self except to its capacity. Those are the companions of the Garden; they are ones abiding therein.
Research verse 7:42 →
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى هَدَىٰنَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلَآ أَنْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ لَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَنُودُوٓا۟ أَن تِلْكُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
And We will pull out whatever (was) in their chests of rancor; rivers flow beneath them. And they will say, “All praise belongs to Allah, the One who guided us to this; and we were not to find guidance if Allah had not guided us. Surely the messengers of our Lord did indeed come with the truth.” And it will be proclaimed: “That is the Garden; you have been made to inherit it for what you used to do.”
Research verse 7:43 →
وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ أَن قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا قَالُوا۟ نَعَمْ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن لَّعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And the companions of the Garden will call to the companions of the Fire, “We have indeed found what our Lord promised us to be true; so have you found what your Lord promised to be true?” They will say, “Yes.” Then a caller proclaimed between them: “The banishment of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.”
Research verse 7:44 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ كَٰفِرُونَ
Those who bar [others] from the path of Allah and seek for it crookedness, while they, regarding the Hereafter, are deniers.
Research verse 7:45 →
وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ وَعَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلًّۢا بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ وَنَادَوْا۟ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَن سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ
And between them is a barrier, and upon the elevations are men who recognize each by their mark. And they call out to the companions of the Garden, “Peace be upon you.” They have not entered it, while they are hoping.
Research verse 7:46 →
وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تِلْقَآءَ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And when their eyes are turned towards the companions of the Fire, they say, “Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people.”
Research verse 7:47 →
وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُم بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
And the companions of the Elevations will call out to men whom they recognize by their mark(s): “Your accumulation has not enriched you in any way, nor what you used to act arrogantly in.”
Research verse 7:48 →
أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ
Are these the ones you swore Allah would not let reach [any] mercy? “Enter the Garden; no fear will be upon you, nor will you grieve.”
Research verse 7:49 →
وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيضُوا۟ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And the companions of the Fire will call out to the companions of the Garden, “Pour down upon us some water, or anything of what God has provided you.” They will say, “Indeed, God has forbidden them both to the deniers.”
Research verse 7:50 →
ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا۟ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ
those who took their dīn as diversion and play, and the lowly life deluded them. So today We will leave them aside, just as they left aside the meeting of this Day of theirs, and for how they used to stubbornly reject Our signs.
Research verse 7:51 →
وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَٰهُم بِكِتَٰبٍ فَصَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
And We have certainly brought them a Book which We have set out in detail, based on knowledge, as guidance and mercy for a people who believe.
Research verse 7:52 →
هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيلَهُۥ يَوْمَ يَأْتِى تَأْوِيلُهُۥ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِن قَبْلُ قَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِن شُفَعَآءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا۟ لَنَآ أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ قَدْ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
Are they waiting for anything except its ultimate outcome? On the Day its outcome comes, those who had forgotten it before will say, “Indeed, the messengers of our Lord came with the truth. So do we have any intercessors, that they might intercede for us? Or could we be sent back so that we would do other than what we used to do?” They have certainly lost their own selves, and lost from them is what they used to fabricate.
Research verse 7:53 →
إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثًا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْخَلْقُ وَٱلْأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Indeed, your Lord is Allah, the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then rose in perfect control over the Throne. He veils the night with the day, pursuing it swiftly, and [He subjected] the sun and the moon and the stars, made subservient by His command. Behold! To Him belongs the creation and the command. Exalted in blessing is Allah, Lord of the worlds.
Research verse 7:54 →
ٱدْعُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ
Call upon your Lord with imploring humility and in secrecy; indeed, He does not love those who overstep the limits.
Research verse 7:55 →
وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا وَٱدْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
And do not ruin things in the land after its setting-right, and call upon Him in fear and in hope; indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.
Research verse 7:56 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا سُقْنَٰهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ فَأَنزَلْنَا بِهِ ٱلْمَآءَ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ كَذَٰلِكَ نُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
And He is the One who sends the winds as a glad announcement before His mercy, until when they have lifted a heavy cloud, We drive it to a dead land, then We send water down with it, and We bring out with it, from every kind of fruits. Thus We bring out the dead, so that you may remember.
Research verse 7:57 →
وَٱلْبَلَدُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ وَٱلَّذِى خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًا كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ
And the good land—its growth comes out by permission of its Lord; while that which has become foul—nothing comes out (from it) except in a vexing way. Thus We vary the signs for a people who show gratitude.
Research verse 7:58 →
لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Indeed, We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, “My people, serve Allah; you have no god other than Him. Truly I fear for you the correction of a tremendous day.”
Research verse 7:59 →
قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
The chiefs from his people said, “Indeed, we surely see you to be in evident straying.”
Research verse 7:60 →
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِى ضَلَٰلَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
He said, “O my people, there is no straying in me; rather, I am a messenger from the Lord of all realms.”
Research verse 7:61 →
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am sincerely devoted for your benefit, and I know, from Allah, what you do not know.
Research verse 7:62 →
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُوا۟ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
Or have you found it strange that a reminder has come to you from your Lord upon a man from among you, so that he may warn you, and so that you may be mindful, and so that you may be shown mercy?
Research verse 7:63 →
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَمِينَ
So they denied him; then We delivered him and those who were with him in the ship, and We caused those who denied Our signs to drown. Indeed, they had been a people blind.
Research verse 7:64 →
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
And to ʿĀd, [We sent] their brother Hūd. He said, “My people, serve Allah; you have no god whatsoever apart from Him. Will you, then, not protect yourselves?”
Research verse 7:65 →
قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى سَفَاهَةٍ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
The chiefs, those who covered [the truth] from among his people, said, “Indeed, we surely see you in foolishness, and indeed, we surely think you are among the liars.”
Research verse 7:66 →
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِى سَفَاهَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
He said, “O my people, there is no foolishness in me; rather, I am a messenger from the Lord of all realms.”
Research verse 7:67 →
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنَا۠ لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ
I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am for you a sincere, trustworthy one.
Research verse 7:68 →
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَزَادَكُمْ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ بَصْۜطَةً فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
So do you find it strange that a reminder has come to you from your Lord upon a man from among you, to warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in the creation in ample measure. So remember the bounties of Allah so that you may prosper.
Research verse 7:69 →
قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَحْدَهُۥ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
They said, “Have you come to us so that we should serve Allah alone and abandon what our fathers used to serve? Then bring upon us what you promise us, if you are among the truthful.”
Research verse 7:70 →
قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ أَتُجَٰدِلُونَنِى فِىٓ أَسْمَآءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ
He said, “Indeed, filth and anger from your Lord have already fallen upon you. Are you arguing with me about names which you and your fathers have named, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? So wait; I am, with you, among those who are waiting.”
Research verse 7:71 →
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
So We delivered him and those who were with him by a mercy from Us, and We cut off the rear of those who belied Our signs, and they had not been believers.
Research verse 7:72 →
وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَٰلِحًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةً فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِىٓ أَرْضِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
And to Thamud [We sent] their brother Ṣāliḥ. He said, “My people, serve Allah; you have no god apart from Him. A clear proof has certainly come to you from your Lord: this is Allah’s she‑camel, for you a sign. So leave her to eat in Allah’s land, and do not touch her with any evil, lest a painful punishment seize you.”
Research verse 7:73 →
وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
And remember when He made you successors after ʿĀd and settled you in the land: you take from its level tracts lofty structures, and you carve the mountains into dwellings. So remember the bounties of Allah, and do not go about in the land as corrupters.
Research verse 7:74 →
قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ لِمَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُمْ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَٰلِحًا مُّرْسَلٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلَ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنُونَ
The chiefs who waxed proud among his people said to those who were held as weak — to whoever among them had trusted — “Do you know that Ṣāliḥ is one sent from his Lord?” They said, “Indeed, regarding what he has been sent with, we are surely trusting.”
Research verse 7:75 →
قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ
Those who had acted arrogantly said, “Indeed, as for that which you have trusted in, we are deniers of it.”
Research verse 7:76 →
فَعَقَرُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰصَٰلِحُ ٱئْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
So they crippled the she‑camel and rebelled away from the command of their Lord, and said, “O Ṣāliḥ, bring to us what you are promising us, if you are indeed among the ones sent.”
Research verse 7:77 →
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ
So the trembling seized them, and they became in their dwellings lying motionless.
Research verse 7:78 →
فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُحِبُّونَ ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ
So he turned away from them and said, “O my people, I have indeed conveyed to you the message of my Lord and have been sincere toward you, but you do not love those who are sincere.”
Research verse 7:79 →
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, “Do you come with the outrageous indecency—one by which none from among all communities has ever preceded you?”
Research verse 7:80 →
إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ
You indeed come to the men, lustfully, apart from the women; rather, you are a people who exceed all bounds.
Research verse 7:81 →
وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
And the response of his people was nothing but that they said, “Drive them out from your town; indeed, they are people who seek to be pure.”
Research verse 7:82 →
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
So We delivered him and his household, except his wife; she was among those who remained behind.
Research verse 7:83 →
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
And We rained upon them a rain; so look how the outcome of the criminals was.
Research verse 7:84 →
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And to Madyan, [We sent] their brother Shuʿayb. He said, “My people, serve God; you have no god other than Him. A clear proof has certainly come to you from your Lord, so give full measure and weight, and do not diminish people’s things, and do not cause corruption in the land after its setting‑right. That is better for you, if you are believers.”
Research verse 7:85 →
وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ بِكُلِّ صِرَٰطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ وَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
And do not sit at every path, threatening and turning away from the path of Allah whoever has trusted in Him, and seeking for it crookedness. And remember when you were few, then He made you many; and look how was the outcome of the corrupters.
Research verse 7:86 →
وَإِن كَانَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنكُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦ وَطَآئِفَةٌ لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَٱصْبِرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ
And if a group among you has trusted in what I have been sent with, while a group has not trusted, then endure until Allah decides between us, and He is the best of deciders in judgment.
Research verse 7:87 →
قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَٰشُعَيْبُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَكَ مِن قَرْيَتِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِى مِلَّتِنَا قَالَ أَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَٰرِهِينَ
Those chiefs who had grown arrogant among his people said, “We will most certainly drive you out, O Shuʿayb, and those who have believed along with you, from our town — or you will surely return into our creed.” He said, “Even if we are unwilling?”
Research verse 7:88 →
قَدِ ٱفْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِى مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّعُودَ فِيهَآ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا رَبَّنَا ٱفْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَٰتِحِينَ
We would indeed have fabricated a lie against Allah if we were to return to your creed after Allah has delivered us from it. And it is not for us to return in it, except if Allah, our Lord, should will. Our Lord has encompassed every thing in knowledge. Upon Allah we have relied. Our Lord, open [a decisive separation] between us and between our people with the truth, and You are the best of those who open [thus].
Research verse 7:89 →
وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ
And the chiefs from his people who covered [the truth] said, “If you follow Shuʿayb, you will then surely be the losers.”
Research verse 7:90 →
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ
Then the quaking seized them, so they became in their dwellings, fallen motionless.
Research verse 7:91 →
ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًا كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
Those who denied Shuʿayb were as though they had never been affluent in it. Those who denied Shuʿayb – they were the ones who were the losers.
Research verse 7:92 →
فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ فَكَيْفَ ءَاسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ كَٰفِرِينَ
So he turned away from them and said, “O my people, I have indeed conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and have been sincere to you; so how could I feel sorrow for a people who are concealers (of the truth)?”
Research verse 7:93 →
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِى قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّآ أَخَذْنَآ أَهْلَهَا بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ
And We did not send into any town a prophet without seizing its people with hardship and adversity so that they might humble themselves in supplication.
Research verse 7:94 →
ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوا۟ وَّقَالُوا۟ قَدْ مَسَّ ءَابَآءَنَا ٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Then We replaced, in place of the bad [state], the good, until they multiplied, and they said, “Hardship and ease did indeed touch our fathers [too].” So We seized them suddenly, while they were not sensing it.
Research verse 7:95 →
وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُوا۟ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
And if only the people of the towns had trusted (in Us) and been mindful (of Us), We would certainly have opened up for them abundant blessings from the sky and the earth; but they denied, so We seized them for what they had been earning.
Research verse 7:96 →
أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا بَيَٰتًا وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ
So did the people of the towns feel secure that Our might would come upon them by night while they were asleep?
Research verse 7:97 →
أَوَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
Or did the people of the towns feel secure that Our might would come upon them in the forenoon while they are playing?
Research verse 7:98 →
أَفَأَمِنُوا۟ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
So did they then feel secure from Allah’s strategizing? Yet none feels secure from Allah’s strategizing except the people who are losers.
Research verse 7:99 →
أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَن لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
Has it not become a guidance for those who inherit the earth after its people that, if We willed, We would strike them for their sins, and We stamp upon their hearts so they do not hear?
Research verse 7:100 →
تِلْكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآئِهَا وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Those are the towns whose reports We recount to you; and certainly their messengers came to them with the clear evidences, but they were never going to believe in what they had already denied before. Thus does Allah stamp upon the hearts of the concealers (of the truth).
Research verse 7:101 →
وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍ وَإِن وَجَدْنَآ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَٰسِقِينَ
And We did not find, for most of them, any commitment; and indeed We surely found most of them to be ones who break out (from right conduct).
Research verse 7:102 →
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَظَلَمُوا۟ بِهَا فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
Then, after them, We raised up Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wronged through them; so look how the outcome was for the corrupters.
Research verse 7:103 →
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَٰفِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And Moses said, “O Pharaoh, indeed I am a messenger from the Lord of all realms.”
Research verse 7:104 →
حَقِيقٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَن لَّآ أَقُولَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِىَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
[I am] truly bound, that I not say about Allah except the truth. I have certainly come to you with a clear proof from your Lord, so send the Children of Israel along with me.
Research verse 7:105 →
قَالَ إِن كُنتَ جِئْتَ بِـَٔايَةٍ فَأْتِ بِهَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
He said, “If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you are among the truthful.”
Research verse 7:106 →
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
So he threw his staff, and suddenly it was a clearly visible serpent.
Research verse 7:107 →
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
And he drew out his hand, and suddenly it was white for the onlookers.
Research verse 7:108 →
قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
The elite from among the people of Pharaoh said, “Indeed, this one is surely a knowledgeable magician.”
Research verse 7:109 →
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُمْ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
He wants to drive you out from your land, so what do you command?
Research verse 7:110 →
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
They said, “Put him and his brother off for a while, and send in the cities those who gather (people).”
Research verse 7:111 →
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَٰحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ
who will come to you with every skilled magician.
Research verse 7:112 →
وَجَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
And the magicians came to Pharaoh; they said, “Indeed, there is surely for us a reward if we are the ones who overcome.”
Research verse 7:113 →
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
He said, “Yes, and indeed you will surely be among those brought near.”
Research verse 7:114 →
قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلْقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُلْقِينَ
They said, “O Moses, either that you throw, or that we be the ones who throw.”
Research verse 7:115 →
قَالَ أَلْقُوا۟ فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوْا۟ سَحَرُوٓا۟ أَعْيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَآءُو بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍ
He said, “Throw.” Then when they threw, they deluded the eyes of the people and terrified them, and they came with a tremendous sorcery.
Research verse 7:116 →
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
And We communicated to Moses: “Throw your staff,” then suddenly it was snatching up what they were perverting.
Research verse 7:117 →
فَوَقَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
So the truth fell into place, and what they had been doing became null.
Research verse 7:118 →
فَغُلِبُوا۟ هُنَالِكَ وَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ صَٰغِرِينَ
So they were overcome right there, and they turned back as ones made insignificant.
Research verse 7:119 →
وَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ
And the magicians were cast down, prostrating.
Research verse 7:120 →
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
They said, “We have trusted in / committed ourselves to the Lord of all realms.”
Research verse 7:121 →
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
The Lord of Moses and Aaron.
Research verse 7:122 →
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَّكَرْتُمُوهُ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لِتُخْرِجُوا۟ مِنْهَآ أَهْلَهَا فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Pharaoh said, “Have you trusted in him before I permit you? Indeed, this is a scheme you have schemed in the city, so that you might drive out its people from it; but you are going to know.”
Research verse 7:123 →
لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
I will most surely cut your hands and your feet from opposite sides; then I will most surely crucify you all together.
Research verse 7:124 →
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
They said, “Indeed, we are ones who will turn back to our Lord.”
Research verse 7:125 →
وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَآءَتْنَا رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
And you take no vengeance on us except that we have trusted in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour out upon us endurance, and make us die as ones who have surrendered.
Research verse 7:126 →
وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُۥ لِيُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَءَالِهَتَكَ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَٰهِرُونَ
And the chiefs from among the people of Pharaoh said, “Will you leave Moses and his people so that they cause corruption in the land and that he leaves you and your gods?” He said, “We will soon kill their sons and let their women live, and indeed, we are overpowering above them.”
Research verse 7:127 →
قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
Moses said to his people, "Seek help by means of God and endure. Indeed, the land belongs to God; He causes it to be inherited by whom He wills among His servants, and the final outcome is for those who are mindful (of Him)."
Research verse 7:128 →
قَالُوٓا۟ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ
They said, “We have been made to suffer harm before you came to us and after you came to us.” He said, “It may be that your Lord will cause your enemy to perish and install you as successors in the land, then observe how you act.”
Research verse 7:129 →
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِٱلسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
And indeed We seized the people of Pharaoh with the years and with a reduction from the yields, so that they might remember.
Research verse 7:130 →
فَإِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا۟ لَنَا هَٰذِهِۦ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَطَّيَّرُوا۟ بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَلَآ إِنَّمَا طَٰٓئِرُهُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
So when a good [state] came to them, they said, “This is for us.” But if an evil [state] struck them, they took a bad omen from Moses and those with him. Behold, their omen is only with Allah, but most of them do not know.
Research verse 7:131 →
وَقَالُوا۟ مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِۦ مِنْ ءَايَةٍ لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
And they said, “Whatever sign you bring us with it to bewitch us, we will not be believers in you.”
Research verse 7:132 →
فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَٰتٍ مُّفَصَّلَٰتٍ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ
So We sent upon them the overwhelming flood, and the locusts, and the vermin, and the frogs, and the blood — as signs made distinct — but they acted arrogantly, and they were a people of criminals.
Research verse 7:133 →
وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
And when the affliction fell upon them, they said, “O Moses, call upon your Lord for us by what He has committed at your place: if you remove from us the affliction, we will surely believe you, and we will surely send the Children of Israel with you.”
Research verse 7:134 →
فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ هُم بَٰلِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ
Then when We removed from them the affliction, up to a term which they are to reach, there they are—breaking (their pledge).
Research verse 7:135 →
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ
So We exacted vengeance from them, then We drowned them in the sea because they had been denying Our signs and had been heedless of them.
Research verse 7:136 →
وَأَوْرَثْنَا ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَٰرِقَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَغَٰرِبَهَا ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُۥ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْرِشُونَ
And We made the people who had been being weakened inherit the eastern parts of the land and its western parts, which We had placed blessing in. And the excellent word of your Lord was fulfilled upon the Children of Israel because of how they endured; and We demolished what Pharaoh and his people had been making, and what they had been constructing.
Research verse 7:137 →
وَجَٰوَزْنَا بِبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَصْنَامٍ لَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَى ٱجْعَل لَّنَآ إِلَٰهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ
And We carried the Children of Israel across the sea, then they came upon a people who were devotedly adhering to idols of theirs. They said, “O Moses, appoint for us a god just as they have gods.” He said, “You are indeed a people who are ignorant.”
Research verse 7:138 →
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَّا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَٰطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Indeed, these—ruined is that in which they are, and nullified is what they had been doing.
Research verse 7:139 →
قَالَ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَٰهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
He said, “Shall I seek for you a god other than Allah, while He has given you preference over the worlds?”
Research verse 7:140 →
وَإِذْ أَنجَيْنَٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ
And when We delivered you from the people of Pharaoh, subjecting you to the worst of the torment: they were killing your sons and letting your women live; and in that was a tremendous test from your Lord.
Research verse 7:141 →
وَوَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَٰثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَٰرُونَ ٱخْلُفْنِى فِى قَوْمِى وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
And We appointed for Moses thirty nights, then completed them with ten, so the appointed time of his Lord was fulfilled as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, “Succeed me among my people, and set things right, and do not follow the path of the corrupters.”
Research verse 7:142 →
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَٰتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ لَن تَرَىٰنِى وَلَٰكِنِ ٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُۥ فَسَوْفَ تَرَىٰنِى فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُۥ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُۥ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا فَلَمَّآ أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And when Moses came for Our appointed meeting and his Lord spoke with him, he said, “My Lord, show me, that I may look towards You.” He said, “You will never see Me; but look towards the mountain—so if it remains settled in its place, then you will see Me.” Then when his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, He made it crushed, and Moses fell down stunned. Then when he recovered, he said, “Glory be to You! I have turned back to You, and I am the foremost of the believers.”
Research verse 7:143 →
قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّى ٱصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِرِسَٰلَٰتِى وَبِكَلَٰمِى فَخُذْ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
He said, “O Moses, indeed I have specially selected you above the people by means of My messages and by My speaking, so take what I have given to you and be among the grateful.”
Research verse 7:144 →
وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَلْوَاحِ مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مَّوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيلًا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوا۟ بِأَحْسَنِهَا سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ دَارَ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
And We wrote for him, in the tablets, from everything—an admonition and a detailed clarification for every thing. So take it with strength, and instruct your people to take [hold] of its best. I will show you the abode of the defiantly deviant.
Research verse 7:145 →
سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلْغَىِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ
I will divert from My signs those who act arrogantly in the land without right; and even if they see every sign, they will not trust in it; and if they see the path of sound guidance, they will not take it as a path, but if they see the path of ruin, they take it as a path. That is because they denied Our signs and had been heedless of them.
Research verse 7:146 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
And those who declared Our signs and the meeting of the Later [life] to be lies – their deeds have been rendered void. Are they recompensed for anything except what they had been doing?
Research verse 7:147 →
وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا ٱتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا۟ ظَٰلِمِينَ
And the people of Moses, after him, made from their ornaments a calf—an embodied form that had a lowing sound. Did they not see that it does not speak to them, nor guide them to any path? They adopted it, and they had been wrongdoers.
Research verse 7:148 →
وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِىٓ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْا۟ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟ قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
And when it fell upon their hands, and they saw that they had indeed gone astray, they said, “If our Lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us, we will surely be among the losers.”
Research verse 7:149 →
وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ غَضْبَٰنَ أَسِفًا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِى مِنۢ بَعْدِىٓ أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَلْقَى ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ ٱبْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱسْتَضْعَفُونِى وَكَادُوا۟ يَقْتُلُونَنِى فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِىَ ٱلْأَعْدَآءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And when Moses returned to his people, angry and deeply distressed, he said, “How evil is what you have succeeded me with after me! Did you hasten the command of your Lord?” Then he cast down the tablets and took hold of the head of his brother, dragging him towards himself. He said, “Son of my mother! The people deemed me weak and were close to killing me, so do not make the enemies gloat over me, and do not place me among the wrongdoing people.”
Research verse 7:150 →
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِأَخِى وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِى رَحْمَتِكَ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
He said, “My Lord, cover [with forgiveness] for me and for my brother, and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of those who show mercy.”
Research verse 7:151 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ
Indeed, those who adopted the calf – there will soon reach them anger from their Lord and lowness in the present life; and thus do We recompense the fabricators.
Research verse 7:152 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا وَءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
And those who have done the bad deeds, then turned back afterward and felt secure [in faith]—indeed, your Lord, after that, is surely All‑Covering [of faults], Ever‑Merciful.
Research verse 7:153 →
وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَن مُّوسَى ٱلْغَضَبُ أَخَذَ ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَفِى نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُونَ
Then when the anger fell silent away from Moses, he took up the tablets; and in their written copy there was guidance and mercy for those who stand in awe of their Lord.
Research verse 7:154 →
وَٱخْتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوْمَهُۥ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا لِّمِيقَٰتِنَا فَلَمَّآ أَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُم مِّن قَبْلُ وَإِيَّٰىَ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَّآ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَهْدِى مَن تَشَآءُ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْغَٰفِرِينَ
And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointed time; then, when the trembling seized them, he said, “My Lord, if You had willed, You would have caused them and me to perish before. Would You cause us to perish for what the foolish among us have done? It is nothing but Your test: by it You let go astray whom You will, and You guide whom You will. You are our Ally, so forgive us and have mercy on us, and You are the best of those who cover (faults).”
Research verse 7:155 →
وَٱكْتُبْ لَنَا فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَآ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ عَذَابِىٓ أُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَنْ أَشَآءُ وَرَحْمَتِى وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
“And prescribe for us, in this nearer life, a good (share), and in the later (life) (as well); indeed, we have turned back to You.” He said, “My punishment—I strike with it whom I will, but My mercy has encompassed every thing. So I will prescribe it for those who are conscious (of Me), and who give the zakah, and those who, regarding Our signs, are ones who believe.”
Research verse 7:156 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلرَّسُولَ ٱلنَّبِىَّ ٱلْأُمِّىَّ ٱلَّذِى يَجِدُونَهُۥ مَكْتُوبًا عِندَهُمْ فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُم بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَىٰهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلنُّورَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ مَعَهُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
Those who follow the Messenger, the prophet of the community, whom they find written down with them in the Torah and the Gospel; he instructs them to what is recognized (as right), and restrains them from what is disapproved, and he makes the wholesome things permitted for them and makes the corrupt things forbidden to them, and he removes from them their load and the shackles that had been upon them. So those who have trusted in him, and reinforced him, and supported him, and followed the light that was sent down with him – those, they are the ones who attain success.
Research verse 7:157 →
قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
Say, “O people, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you all — the One to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him; He gives life and causes death. So have faith in Allah and His messenger, the unscriptured prophet, who has faith in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may be guided.”
Research verse 7:158 →
وَمِن قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰٓ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ
And from the people of Moses is a community that guides by the truth, and by it they act with justice.
Research verse 7:159 →
وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمُ ٱثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰهُ قَوْمُهُۥٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ فَٱنۢبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْغَمَٰمَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
And We split them up into twelve tribes, communities; and We inspired to Moses, when his people sought him for water, “Strike the stone with your staff,” so there burst forth from it twelve springs; every group of people had already known its drinking-place. And We shaded them with the cloud and sent down upon them the manna and the quails: “Eat from the good things We have provided you.” And they did not wrong Us, but they were wronging only themselves.
Research verse 7:160 →
وَإِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسْكُنُوا۟ هَٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَقُولُوا۟ حِطَّةٌ وَٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِكُمْ سَنَزِيدُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
And when it was said to them, “Settle in this town and eat from it wherever you wish, and say, ‘Relief!’ and enter the gate, bowing down; We will cover for you your misdeeds, and We will surely increase the doers of good.”
Research verse 7:161 →
فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ
But those among them who did wrong substituted a saying other than what had been said to them, so We sent upon them a torment from the sky because of how they used to do wrong.
Research verse 7:162 →
وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ ٱلْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ
And ask them about the township that was present by the sea, when they were overstepping in the sabbath: when their fish would come to them on the day of their sabbath, in shoals at the surface, but on the day they did not keep sabbath they would not come to them. Thus We were testing them because of how they used to deviate.
Research verse 7:163 →
وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ٱللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا قَالُوا۟ مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ
And when a group among them said, “Why do you admonish a people whom Allah is one who destroys, or one who punishes with an intensely severe punishment?” They said, “As an excuse before your Lord, and so that they might become mindful (protect themselves).”
Research verse 7:164 →
فَلَمَّا نَسُوا۟ مَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنجَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلسُّوٓءِ وَأَخَذْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ بِعَذَابٍۭ بَـِٔيسٍۭ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ
Then when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We delivered those who restrain from the bad, and We seized those who did wrong with a miserable punishment for what they used to break away (from right).
Research verse 7:165 →
فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا۟ عَن مَّا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا۟ قِرَدَةً خَٰسِـِٔينَ
Then when they grew defiant regarding what they had been forbidden from, We said to them, “Be apes, cast away.”
Research verse 7:166 →
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَن يَسُومُهُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ ٱلْعِقَابِ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
And when your Lord proclaimed that He will surely raise up against them, until the Day of Standing, one who makes them taste the evil of the punishment. Indeed, your Lord is certainly swift in following up (with consequence), and indeed, He is surely Forgiving, Merciful.
Research verse 7:167 →
وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا مِّنْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَبَلَوْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
And We split them up on the earth as communities: among them are the righteous, and among them are below that; and We tried them with the good things and the bad things so that they might return.
Research verse 7:168 →
فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِن يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ يَأْخُذُوهُ أَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِم مِّيثَٰقُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أَن لَّا يَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ وَٱلدَّارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Then there succeeded after them a later generation who inherited the Book, taking the transient gain of this nearer [life] and saying, “We will be forgiven.” Yet if a similar transient gain comes to them, they take it. Was not the firm pledge of the Book taken from them that they would not say about Allah except the truth? And they had studied what was in it. And the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who are conscious [of Him]. Will you not reason?
Research verse 7:169 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُمَسِّكُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ
And those who firmly hold to the Book and have established the prayer — indeed, We do not let the reward of the reformers go to waste.
Research verse 7:170 →
وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا ٱلْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُۥ ظُلَّةٌ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ وَاقِعٌۢ بِهِمْ خُذُوا۟ مَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ
And when We jolted the mountain above them so that it was as if it were a canopy, and they were convinced that it was falling upon them, “Hold fast to what We have given you with strength, and remember what is in it, so that you may protect yourselves.”
Research verse 7:171 →
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ شَهِدْنَآ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَٰفِلِينَ
And when your Lord took from the children of Adam, from their backs, their offspring, and made them bear witness against their own selves, “Am I not your Lord?” They said, “Yes indeed, we bear witness,” lest you should say on the Day of Standing, “We were, regarding this, among the heedless.”
Research verse 7:172 →
أَوْ تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
Or [lest] you say, “It was only that our fathers joined [others] before, and we were offspring after them; so will You cause us to perish for what the ones of falsehood have done?”
Research verse 7:173 →
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
And in this way We distinguish the signs in detail, so that they might turn back.
Research verse 7:174 →
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَٱنسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ
And recite to them the account of the one to whom We gave Our signs, then he stripped himself away from them, so the satan followed him, and thus he came to be among the deviators.
Research verse 7:175 →
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَٰهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
And had We willed, We would surely have raised him by means of it; but he made himself cling permanently to the earth and followed his craving. So his likeness is like the likeness of the dog: if you press upon it, it pants, or if you leave it, it pants. That is the likeness of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the account, so that they might reflect.
Research verse 7:176 →
سَآءَ مَثَلًا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَأَنفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ
How evil, as a likeness, are the people who denied Our signs, while it was themselves that they were wronging.
Research verse 7:177 →
مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِى وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
Whoever Allah guides, then he is the one who is rightly guided; and whoever He lets go astray, then those are the ones who are the losers.
Research verse 7:178 →
وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ
And We have indeed brought forth for Hell many of the unseen beings and humankind. They have hearts by which they do not comprehend, and they have eyes by which they do not see, and they have ears by which they do not hear. Those are like the grazing animals; rather, they are further astray. Those – they are the heedless.
Research verse 7:179 →
وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰٓئِهِۦ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
And to Allah belong the most excellent names, so call upon Him by them, and leave those who deviate concerning His names; they will be repaid for what they used to do.
Research verse 7:180 →
وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ
And among those We have created is a community that guides by the truth, and by it they act with equity.
Research verse 7:181 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
And those who have denied Our signs – We will draw them on, step by step, from where they do not know.
Research verse 7:182 →
وَأُمْلِى لَهُمْ إِنَّ كَيْدِى مَتِينٌ
And I grant them respite; indeed, My stratagem is strong.
Research verse 7:183 →
أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ مَا بِصَاحِبِهِم مِّن جِنَّةٍ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Have they then not reflected? There is no madness in their companion; he is nothing but a manifest warner.
Research verse 7:184 →
أَوَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا۟ فِى مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Have they then not looked into the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and into whatever thing Allah has created, and (reflected) that perhaps their term may indeed have drawn near? So in what discourse after it will they believe?
Research verse 7:185 →
مَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِىَ لَهُۥ وَيَذَرُهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
Whoever Allah lets sink into error, then there is no guide for him; and He leaves them in their overstepping, groping in confusion.
Research verse 7:186 →
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّى لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ ثَقُلَتْ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَا تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلَّا بَغْتَةً يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِىٌّ عَنْهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
They ask you about the Hour: “When is its anchoring?” Say, “Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None lays it bare for its [appointed] time except He. It has become heavy in the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except suddenly. They ask you as though you were one thoroughly informed about it.” Say, “Its knowledge is only with God, but most of the people do not know.”
Research verse 7:187 →
قُل لَّآ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِى نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَوْ كُنتُ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ لَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِىَ ٱلسُّوٓءُ إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Say, “I do not control for myself benefit nor harm, except what Allah wills. And if I had been knowing the hidden, I would surely have increased (for myself) from the good, and evil would not have touched me. I am nothing but a warner and a bringer of good news for a people who believe.”
Research verse 7:188 →
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّىٰهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِۦ فَلَمَّآ أَثْقَلَت دَّعَوَا ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ ءَاتَيْتَنَا صَٰلِحًا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
He is the One who created you from a single self, and made from it its counterpart so that he might find stillness with her. Then when he covered her, she carried a light load and went on with it; but when she became heavy, the two of them called upon Allah, their Lord, “If You indeed grant us a sound one, we will surely be among the grateful.”
Research verse 7:189 →
فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا صَٰلِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُۥ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Then when He granted them a sound one, they assigned for Him partners in what He had granted them. So Allah is exalted above what they join with Him.
Research verse 7:190 →
أَيُشْرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْـًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ
Do they associate (with Him) what does not create a single thing, while they themselves are created?
Research verse 7:191 →
وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُمْ نَصْرًا وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنصُرُونَ
And they are not able to [provide] help for them, nor do they help themselves.
Research verse 7:192 →
وَإِن تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَا يَتَّبِعُوكُمْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ أَدَعَوْتُمُوهُمْ أَمْ أَنتُمْ صَٰمِتُونَ
And if you call them to the guidance, they do not follow you; it is the same for you whether you call them or whether you are silent.
Research verse 7:193 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ عِبَادٌ أَمْثَالُكُمْ فَٱدْعُوهُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Indeed, those whom you call upon apart from Allah are servants, similar to yourselves; so call upon them, then let them respond to you, if you are truthful.
Research verse 7:194 →
أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُونَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَآ أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ
Do they have feet with which they walk, or do they have hands with which they seize, or do they have eyes with which they see, or do they have ears with which they hear? Say, “Call upon your partners, then plot against me, and do not grant me any delay.”
Research verse 7:195 →
إِنَّ وَلِـِّۧىَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَهُوَ يَتَوَلَّى ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
Indeed, my guardian is Allah, the One who has sent down the Book, and He takes charge of the ones who have set things right.
Research verse 7:196 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَكُمْ وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنصُرُونَ
And those whom you call, apart from Him, are not able to help you, nor do they help themselves.
Research verse 7:197 →
وَإِن تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَا يَسْمَعُوا۟ وَتَرَىٰهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ
And if you call them to the guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking toward you, while they do not perceive.
Research verse 7:198 →
خُذِ ٱلْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ
Take the overlooking, and command by the recognized, and turn away from the ignorant.
Research verse 7:199 →
وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ نَزْغٌ فَٱسْتَعِذْ بِٱللَّهِ إِنَّهُۥ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
And if a provocation from Satan should indeed provoke you, then seek protection with Allah; surely He is Hearing, Knowing.
Research verse 7:200 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ إِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طَٰٓئِفٌ مِّنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ تَذَكَّرُوا۟ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْصِرُونَ
Indeed, those who are mindful (of God): when a circling impulse from Satan touches them, they recollect, and then, all at once, they are seeing clearly.
Research verse 7:201 →
وَإِخْوَٰنُهُمْ يَمُدُّونَهُمْ فِى ٱلْغَىِّ ثُمَّ لَا يُقْصِرُونَ
And their brothers stretch them out in the deviation, then they do not hold back.
Research verse 7:202 →
وَإِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِم بِـَٔايَةٍ قَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا ٱجْتَبَيْتَهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ مِن رَّبِّى هَٰذَا بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
And when no sign comes to them, they say, “Why have you not selected it (for yourself)?” Say, “I only follow what is being inspired to me from my Lord. This is insights from your Lord, and guidance and mercy for a people who trust (in it).”
Research verse 7:203 →
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ فَٱسْتَمِعُوا۟ لَهُۥ وَأَنصِتُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
And when the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and be silent, so that you may be shown mercy.
Research verse 7:204 →
وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِى نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ ٱلْجَهْرِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْـَٔاصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ
And remember your Lord within yourself, in imploring and fear, and below loudness of speech, at early mornings and the late times of the day; and do not be among the heedless.
Research verse 7:205 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥ وَلَهُۥ يَسْجُدُونَ
Indeed, those who are with your Lord do not act arrogantly away from His servitude; they glorify Him, and to Him they prostrate.
Research verse 7:206 →
