قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
The believers have indeed prospered.
Research verse 23:1 →
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَٰشِعُونَ
Those who, in their prayer, are humbled.
Research verse 23:2 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
And those who, from the vain talk, turn away.
Research verse 23:3 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَٰعِلُونَ
And those who are doers for the zakah.
Research verse 23:4 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ
And those who are guardians over their openings.
Research verse 23:5 →
إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
except with their spouses, or what their right hands possess; for then they are not blameworthy.
Research verse 23:6 →
فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ
So whoever seeks beyond that, then those — they are the ones who overstep (the limits).
Research verse 23:7 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ
And those who are shepherding their trusts and their covenant.
Research verse 23:8 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
And those who, over their prayers, keep watch.
Research verse 23:9 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
Those — they are the inheritors.
Research verse 23:10 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
those who will inherit the Paradise-garden; they are, in it, ones who remain.
Research verse 23:11 →
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن سُلَٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ
And indeed We created the human being from an extracted portion, out of clay.
Research verse 23:12 →
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
Then We made him a sperm-drop in a settled, well-secured place.

ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَٰمَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ
Then We fashioned the sperm-drop into a clinging form, then We fashioned the clinging form into a chewed-like lump, then We fashioned the chewed-like lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh; then We brought him forth as another creation. So exalted in blessing is Allah, the best of those who create.
Research verse 23:14 →
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
Then indeed, after that, you are surely ones-who-will-die.
Research verse 23:15 →
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ
Then indeed you, on the Day of Standing, will surely be brought forth.
Research verse 23:16 →
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَٰفِلِينَ
And indeed We have created, above you, seven pathways, and We were never heedless of the creation.
Research verse 23:17 →
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَٰدِرُونَ
And We sent down from the sky water in a measured proportion, then We caused it to settle in the earth; and indeed, We are surely capable of removing it.
Research verse 23:18 →
فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
So by it We brought into being for you gardens of date-palms and grapevines; for you there are in them many fruits, and from them you eat.
Research verse 23:19 →
وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْـَٔاكِلِينَ
And a tree that emerges from Mount Sinai, growing with oil and a relish for those who eat.
Research verse 23:20 →
وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
And indeed, for you in the livestock there is surely a lesson: We give you drink from what is in their bellies, and for you in them are many benefits, and from them you eat.
Research verse 23:21 →
وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
And upon them and upon the ships you are carried.
Research verse 23:22 →
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
And indeed We sent Noah to his people, and he said, “My people, serve Allah; you have no god whatsoever apart from Him. Will you, then, not protect yourselves?”
Research verse 23:23 →
فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
So the chiefs, those who had denied [the truth] from among his people, said, “This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves; he wants to exalt himself above you. And if Allah had willed, He would surely have sent down angels. We have never heard of this among our earliest forefathers.”
Research verse 23:24 →
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
He is nothing but a man upon whom is a hidden condition, so wait for him until a while.
Research verse 23:25 →
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
He said, “My Lord, help me because of how they have denied me.”
Research verse 23:26 →
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا تُخَٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ
So We communicated to him: “Make the ship under Our eyes and Our communication; then when Our command comes and the furnace gushes forth, pass into it, from everything, two in pairs, and your family—except whoever among them the word has already preceded against—and do not address Me regarding those who have done wrong; indeed, they are ones who will be drowned.”
Research verse 23:27 →
فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
So when you and whoever is with you have settled evenly upon the ship, then say, “The praise belongs to Allah, the One who has delivered us from the darkening people.”
Research verse 23:28 →
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
And say, “My Lord, cause me to alight at a blessed alighting, and You are the best of those who cause to alight.”
Research verse 23:29 →
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ
Indeed, in that are signs; and indeed, We certainly are ones who put to trial.
Research verse 23:30 →
ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ
Then, after them, We brought into being another era.
Research verse 23:31 →
فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
So We sent among them a messenger from themselves: “Serve Allah; you have no god apart from Him. Will you, then, not protect yourselves?”
Research verse 23:32 →
وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ
And the elite from his people, those who covered over [the truth] and denied the meeting of the Later [life], while We had made them luxuriant in the lowly life, said, “This is nothing but a human like you: he eats from what you eat from, and he drinks from what you drink.”
Research verse 23:33 →
وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ
And if you obey a human being like yourselves, then you will surely be losers.
Research verse 23:34 →
أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ
Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones, you will indeed be brought out?
Research verse 23:35 →
هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
Far-fetched, far-fetched is what you are being promised.
Research verse 23:36 →
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
It is nothing but our nearest life: we die and we live, and we are not ones to be raised up.
Research verse 23:37 →
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
He is nothing but a man who has fabricated a falsehood against Allah, and we are by no means ones who believe in him.
Research verse 23:38 →
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
He said, “My Lord, help me because of how they have denied me.”
Research verse 23:39 →
قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَٰدِمِينَ
He said, “In just a little while, they will indeed become regretful.”
Research verse 23:40 →
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ غُثَآءً فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
So the Cry seized them in truth, and We then made them like drifting debris; so away with the wrongdoing people.
Research verse 23:41 →
ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِينَ
Then, after them, We brought into being other generations.
Research verse 23:42 →
مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
No community outstrips its term, nor do they seek to delay it.
Research verse 23:43 →
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Then We sent Our messengers in close succession: every time a messenger came to a community, they denied him; so We made some of them follow after others, and We turned them into mere tales. So distance [be] to a people who do not believe.
Research verse 23:44 →
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَٰرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and an evident authority.

إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِينَ
to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they acted arrogantly and were a people exalted (above others).
Research verse 23:46 →
فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَٰبِدُونَ
So they said, “Shall we trust in two humans like ourselves, while their people are worshippers for us?”
Research verse 23:47 →
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ
So they denied them both, and thus they came to be among those brought to ruin.
Research verse 23:48 →
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
And We certainly gave Moses the Book, so that they might be guided.
Research verse 23:49 →
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥٓ ءَايَةً وَءَاوَيْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ
And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and We sheltered them on an elevated ground, possessing a stable settlement and an accessible water-source.
Research verse 23:50 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَٰلِحًا إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ
O messengers, eat from the wholesome things and do what is sound, for I am, of what you do, all‑knowing.
Research verse 23:51 →
وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ
And indeed this is your community—one community—and I am your Lord, so be wary of Me.
Research verse 23:52 →
فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
But they tore apart their affair among themselves into writings; every faction is exultant over what is with them.
Research verse 23:53 →
فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
So leave them in their engulfing state until a time.
Research verse 23:54 →
أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ
Do they reckon that what We extend to them of wealth and sons
Research verse 23:55 →
نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ
We are hastening for them in the good things? Rather, they do not sense it.
Research verse 23:56 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ
Indeed, those who, out of awe of their Lord, are apprehensive—
Research verse 23:57 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
and those who, in the signs of their Lord, are trusting
Research verse 23:58 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ
and those who, regarding their Lord, do not join [anything] as a partner
Research verse 23:59 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ
And those who bring forth what they have brought forth, while their hearts are trembling, [knowing] that they are returning to their Lord.
Research verse 23:60 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰبِقُونَ
Those are the ones who hasten in the good things, and they are, with respect to them, the foremost.
Research verse 23:61 →
وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَٰبٌ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
And We do not burden any self except according to its capacity; and with Us is a written record that speaks with the truth, and they are not wronged.
Research verse 23:62 →
بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَٰلٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَٰمِلُونَ
Rather, their hearts are in a flood of this, and they have deeds besides that which they are indeed doing.
Research verse 23:63 →
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ
Until, when We seize their luxuriant ones with the punishment, behold, they are crying out.
Research verse 23:64 →
لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ
Do not cry out loudly today; indeed, you are not ones who will be helped by Us.
Research verse 23:65 →
قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ
My signs had indeed been recited to you, but you used to retreat backwards on your heels,
Research verse 23:66 →
مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَٰمِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ
Being arrogant about it, as night-time storytellers, you were abandoning (it).
Research verse 23:67 →
أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
So have they not applied deep consideration to the Word, or has there come to them something that did not come to their earliest forefathers?
Research verse 23:68 →
أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
Or did they not know their messenger, so they are toward him disowning?
Research verse 23:69 →
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَٰرِهُونَ
Or do they say, “There is a hidden affliction in him”? Rather, he has come to them with the truth, while most of them are averse to the truth.
Research verse 23:70 →
وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
And if the Truth were to follow their desires, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would surely be corrupted. Instead, We have brought them their reminder, yet they, from their reminder, are turning away.
Research verse 23:71 →
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
Or do you ask them for an outgoing‑due, while the outgoing‑due of your Lord is better, and He is the best of providers?
Research verse 23:72 →
وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
And indeed, you surely call them to a straight path.
Research verse 23:73 →
وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَٰكِبُونَ
And indeed, those who do not trust in the Hereafter are surely turned away from the path.
Research verse 23:74 →
وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
And if We were to show them mercy and remove from them whatever harm is upon them, they would surely persist in their overstepping, wandering blindly.
Research verse 23:75 →
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
And We have certainly seized them with the punishment, yet they have not humbled themselves to their Lord, nor do they plead earnestly.
Research verse 23:76 →
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
Until, when We open upon them a gate of intense chastisement, behold, they are in it utterly despondent.
Research verse 23:77 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
And He is the One who brought into being for you hearing, and sights, and hearts; little is it that you show gratitude.
Research verse 23:78 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
And He is the One who has brought you forth on the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.
Research verse 23:79 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
And He is the One who gives life and causes death, and to Him belongs the succession of the night and the day. Will you not then use your reason?
Research verse 23:80 →
بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
No, rather, they have said the like of what the former ones said.
Research verse 23:81 →
قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
They said, “Is it that when we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be ones brought forth?”
Research verse 23:82 →
لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Indeed, we and our forefathers were certainly promised this before; this is nothing but writings of the former ones.
Research verse 23:83 →
قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Say, “To whom does the earth belong, and whoever is in it, if you are (truly) knowing?”
Research verse 23:84 →
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
They will say, “To Allah.” Say, “Will you then not take heed?”
Research verse 23:85 →
قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
Say, “Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the tremendous Throne?”
Research verse 23:86 →
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
They will say, “To Allah.” Say, “So will you not be mindful (in wary awareness)?”
Research verse 23:87 →
قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Say, “Who holds in His hand the kingship‑realm of every thing, and He grants protection while no protection is granted against Him, if you are (truly) knowing?”
Research verse 23:88 →
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ
They will say, “To Allah.” Say, “So how are you being bewitched?”
Research verse 23:89 →
بَلْ أَتَيْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
Rather, We have come to them with the truth, and indeed they are surely liars.
Research verse 23:90 →
مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Allah has not taken any child, nor has there ever been with Him any god. Had it been so, then every god would surely have gone off with what he created, and some of them would surely have risen high over others. Glory be to Allah, above what they describe.
Research verse 23:91 →
عَٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ فَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Knower of the hidden and the witnessed; so He is exalted above what they make Him share in.
Research verse 23:92 →
قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ
Say, “My Lord, if You should indeed show me what they are promised,
Research verse 23:93 →
رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
My Lord, then do not place me among the people who are darkening (others / themselves in injustice).
Research verse 23:94 →
وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَٰدِرُونَ
And indeed, We are fully able, with regard to showing you what We are promising them.
Research verse 23:95 →
ٱدْفَعْ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ
Repel the bad with that which is better; We are most knowing of what they describe.
Research verse 23:96 →
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ
And say, “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the stabbings of the devils.”
Research verse 23:97 →
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, from their being present with me.
Research verse 23:98 →
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرْجِعُونِ
Until, when death comes to one of them, he says, “My Lord, return me.”
Research verse 23:99 →
لَعَلِّىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَٰلِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَآئِلُهَا وَمِن وَرَآئِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
“…so that I might do sound conduct regarding what I left behind.” No indeed! It is only a word he is one who says, and ahead of them is an interval until the Day they are raised.
Research verse 23:100 →
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَلَآ أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will no longer be any lineages between them on that Day, nor will they question one another.
Research verse 23:101 →
فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
So whoever’s balances are heavy – then those, it is they who are the ones who prosper.
Research verse 23:102 →
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدُونَ
And whoever’s scales are light – then those are the ones who have lost their own selves; in Hell they are ones abiding.
Research verse 23:103 →
تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَٰلِحُونَ
The Fire scorches their faces, while they are in it grimacing.
Research verse 23:104 →
أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
“Were My signs not being recited to you, so you used to deny them?”
Research verse 23:105 →
قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَآلِّينَ
They will say, “Our Lord, our wretchedness prevailed over us, and we were a people astray.”
Research verse 23:106 →
رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَٰلِمُونَ
Our Lord, bring us out of it; then if we return, indeed we are wrongdoers.
Research verse 23:107 →
قَالَ ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ
He said, “Be despised in it, and do not speak to Me.”
Research verse 23:108 →
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
Indeed, there had been a group from among My servants who would say, “Our Lord, we have believed, so cover us [with forgiveness] and show us mercy, and You are the best of those who show mercy.”
Research verse 23:109 →
فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
So you took them as an object of ridicule until it made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.
Research verse 23:110 →
إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
Indeed, I have recompensed them today for how they endured: that it is they who are the ones who have attained success.
Research verse 23:111 →
قَٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
He said, “How long did you remain in the earth, in counted years?”
Research verse 23:112 →
قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ
They will say, “We remained a day, or part of a day; so ask the counters.”
Research verse 23:113 →
قَٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
He will say, “You did not remain except a little—if only you had been knowing.”
Research verse 23:114 →
أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
So did you reckon that We only created you for frivolity, and that you would not be brought back to Us?
Research verse 23:115 →
فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
So exalted is Allah, the King, the True; there is no god except Him, Lord of the noble Throne.
Research verse 23:116 →
وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
And whoever calls, along with Allah, another god for which he has no evidence, then only his reckoning is with his Lord. Indeed, the concealers (of truth) do not attain success.
Research verse 23:117 →
وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
And say, “My Lord, cover [my faults] and show mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy.”
Research verse 23:118 →
