So go to him and say, “We are indeed envoys of your Lord, so send the Children of Israel along with us and do not torment them. We have certainly come to you with a sign from your Lord, and peace is upon whoever follows the guidance.”
Research verse 20:47 →

Research verse 20:52 →
The One who made for you the earth a cradle, and threaded for you within it pathways, and sent down from the sky water, then We brought out by it paired kinds from diverse vegetation.
Research verse 20:53 →
Eat, and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for possessors of restraint.
Research verse 20:54 →
From it We created you, and into it We return you, and from it We bring you out at another turn.
Research verse 20:55 →
And We certainly showed him all of Our signs, yet he denied and refused.
Research verse 20:56 →

Research verse 20:57 →

So Pharaoh turned away, then gathered his scheme, then came.
Research verse 20:60 →
Moses said to them, “Woe to you! Do not fabricate a falsehood against Allah, lest He eradicate you with a punishment; and indeed, he has failed who fabricates.”
Research verse 20:61 →
So they contended over their affair among themselves and concealed the secret talk.
Research verse 20:62 →
They said, “Indeed, these two are surely magicians; they want to drive you out of your land by their magic and to remove your most exemplary way.”
Research verse 20:63 →
So bring together your scheme, then come in a row; and indeed, has prospered today whoever has risen uppermost.
Research verse 20:64 →
They said, “O Moses, either that you throw, or that we be the first of those who throw.”
Research verse 20:65 →
He said, “Rather, you throw.” Then suddenly their ropes and their staffs were made to appear to him, by their magic, as though they were rushing about.
Research verse 20:66 →
So Moses sensed fear within himself.
Research verse 20:67 →
We said, “Do not fear; indeed, you are the higher one.”
Research verse 20:68 →
And throw what is in your right hand; it will snatch up what they have made. What they have made is only the plotting of a magician, and the magician does not attain success, wherever he comes.
Research verse 20:69 →
So the magicians were cast down, prostrating; they said, “We have trusted in the Lord of Aaron and Moses.”
Research verse 20:70 →
He said, “Have you trusted in him before I give you leave? Indeed, he is surely your great one who has taught you the sorcery. So I will most certainly cut off your hands and your feet in alternation, and I will most certainly crucify you on the trunks of the date‑palms, and you will surely know which of us is more intense in punishment and more enduring.”
Research verse 20:71 →
They said, “We will never prefer you over what has come to us of the clear evidences, nor over the One who originated us. So carry out whatever you are one who carries out; you only carry out [something] in this lower life.”
Research verse 20:72 →
Indeed, we have trusted in our Lord so that He may cover for us our misdeeds and what you compelled us to (do) of the sorcery; and Allah is better and more enduring.
Research verse 20:73 →
Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal, then for him is Hell: he neither dies in it nor lives.
Research verse 20:74 →
But whoever comes to Him as one who is secure in faith, having indeed done the sound, good deeds – such are the ones who will have the highest ranks.
Research verse 20:75 →
Gardens of lasting settlement, rivers flowing beneath them, remaining therein — and that is the recompense of whoever has purified himself.
Research verse 20:76 →
And indeed We inspired to Moses: “Set out by night with My servants, then strike for them a path in the sea, dry; you will not fear being overtaken, nor will you dread.”
Research verse 20:77 →
So Pharaoh pursued them with his forces, then there overwhelmed them from the sea that which overwhelmed them.
Research verse 20:78 →
And Pharaoh caused his people to go astray, and he did not guide.
Research verse 20:79 →
O Children of Israel, We have indeed delivered you from your enemy, and We appointed for you [a meeting] at the right side of the Mount, and We sent down upon you the manna and the quails.
Research verse 20:80 →
Eat from the wholesome things We have provided you, and do not exceed limits regarding it, lest My wrath become due upon you; and whoever My wrath becomes due upon has indeed fallen.
Research verse 20:81 →
And indeed, I am surely an ever‑forgiver for whoever turned back, and believed, and did what is sound, then became guided.
Research verse 20:82 →
And what has made you hasten away from your people, O Moses?
Research verse 20:83 →
He said, “They are here, upon my track, and I hastened to You, my Lord, so that You would be satisfied.”
Research verse 20:84 →
He said, “Then indeed, We have subjected your people to a test after you, and the Samiri has led them astray.”
Research verse 20:85 →
So Moses returned to his people, angry and deeply distressed. He said, “My people, did your Lord not promise you a fine promise? So has the term become long upon you, or did you intend that anger from your Lord should alight upon you, so you went back on my appointed time?”
Research verse 20:86 →
They said, “We did not go back on your appointment by our own control; rather, we were made to carry burdens from the adornment of the people, so we cast it away, and thus did the Samiri cast.”
Research verse 20:87 →
Then he brought out for them a calf, a body, that had a bellowing; so they said, “This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot.”
Research verse 20:88 →
Do they then not see that it does not return any speech to them, and does not possess for them [the power of] harm nor benefit?
Research verse 20:89 →
And Aaron had certainly said to them before, “My people, you have only been put to trial by it, and your Lord is the All-Merciful; so follow me and obey my command.”
Research verse 20:90 →
They said, “We will by no means depart from [remaining] upon it, devoted, until Moses returns to us.”
Research verse 20:91 →
He said, “O Aaron, what held you back when you saw that they had gone astray?”
Research verse 20:92 →
that you did not follow me? So have you defied my command?
Research verse 20:93 →
He said, “O son of my mother, do not seize me by my beard nor by my head. I indeed feared that you would say, ‘You have split apart the Children of Israel, and you did not regard my word.’”
Research verse 20:94 →
He said, “So what is your concern, O Samiri?”
Research verse 20:95 →
He said, “I perceived what they did not perceive by it, so I grasped a handful from the trace of the messenger and cast it away, and thus my self made it seem easy for me.”
Research verse 20:96 →
He said, “Then go, for indeed, you have in [this] life that you say, ‘No touching.’ And indeed, you have an appointed time which you will never be made to miss. And look at your ‘god’ to which you kept on being devoted: we will certainly burn it, then we will certainly scatter it in the sea, a thorough scattering.”
Research verse 20:97 →
Your only god is Allah, the One besides whom there is no god; He has encompassed every thing in knowledge.
Research verse 20:98 →
In this way We recount to you, from the reports of what has already passed, and We have indeed granted you, from Our very presence, a reminder.
Research verse 20:99 →
Whoever turns away from it will then, indeed, carry a burden on the Day of Resurrection,
Research verse 20:100 →
Remaining therein, and how evil it is for them on the Day of Standing as a burden.
Research verse 20:101 →
The Day the trumpet is blown in, and We gather the criminals on that Day, bluish(-eyed).
Research verse 20:102 →
They will speak in low tones among themselves, “You did not remain except ten.”
Research verse 20:103 →
We are most knowing of what they say, when the one among them most exemplary in conduct will say, “You did not remain except [for] a day.”
Research verse 20:104 →
And they ask you about the mountains, so say, “My Lord will scatter them utterly, as a scattering.”
Research verse 20:105 →
Then He will leave it a bare, level expanse,
Research verse 20:106 →
You will not see in it any crookedness, nor any unevenness.
Research verse 20:107 →
On that Day they will follow the Caller; there is no crookedness in him. And the sounds will be humbled before the All-Merciful, so you will not hear anything except a soft murmur.
Research verse 20:108 →
On that Day, intercession will not benefit—except for one to whom the All-Merciful has given leave and whose speech He has approved.
Research verse 20:109 →
He knows what is between their hands and what is behind them, while they do not encompass Him in knowledge.
Research verse 20:110 →
And the faces are humbled before the Ever-Living, the *qayyūm*, and indeed has failed whoever has carried wrongdoing.
Research verse 20:111 →
And whoever does any of the sound deeds while he is a believer shall not fear any wrongdoing nor any curtailment.
Research verse 20:112 →
And thus We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an, and We have varied within it of the threat, so that they might shield themselves, or it may bring about for them a remembrance.
Research verse 20:113 →
So Allah, the Sovereign, the True, is exalted. And do not hurry with the Qur’an before its inspiration is completed to you, and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
Research verse 20:114 →
And indeed We had enjoined upon Adam before, then he forgot, and We did not find in him firm resolve.
Research verse 20:115 →
And when We said to the angels, “Fall down in prostration to Adam,” so they fell down in prostration, except Iblīs; he refused.
Research verse 20:116 →
So We said, “O Adam, this one is indeed an adversary to you and to your mate; so let him not drive you two out from the garden, lest you (then) toil.”
Research verse 20:117 →
Indeed, for you there is that you will not go hungry therein, nor will you be laid bare.
Research verse 20:118 →
And that you will neither thirst therein nor be exposed (to the sun’s heat).
Research verse 20:119 →
Then the shayṭān whispered to him; he said, “O Adam, shall I guide you to the tree of abiding (endlessness) and a dominion that does not wear out?”
Research verse 20:120 →
So they both ate from it, and their bad things became apparent to them, and they began patching over themselves from the leaves of the Garden. And Adam defied his Lord, so he went astray.
Research verse 20:121 →
Then his Lord selected him, so He turned back toward him and guided [him].
Research verse 20:122 →
He said, “Descend, both of you, from it, all together; some of you are an enemy to others. Then if guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance will neither lose the way nor be distressed.”
Research verse 20:123 →
And whoever turns away from My reminder, then indeed for him is a constricted livelihood, and We will gather him on the Day of Standing as blind.
Research verse 20:124 →
He will say, “My Lord, for what have You gathered me blind, while I had been seeing?”
Research verse 20:125 →
He will say, “In that very way, Our signs came to you, but you forgot them; and in that very way, today you are forgotten.”
Research verse 20:126 →
And thus We recompense whoever was excessive and did not trust in the signs of his Lord; and the punishment of the Later (Life) is more intense and more enduring.
Research verse 20:127 →
Has it then not guided them—how many generations We destroyed before them, [while] they walk about in their dwellings? Indeed, in that are signs for possessors of restraint of mind.
Research verse 20:128 →
And were it not for a word that had already gone ahead from your Lord, it would have been something binding, and a specified term.
Research verse 20:129 →
So endure what they say, and glorify with the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting, and in portions of the night — so glorify — and at the edges of the day, so that you may be content.
Research verse 20:130 →
And do not stretch out your eyes toward what We have given as enjoyment to pairs among them—the bloom of the lowly life—so that We may test them by it; while the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.
Research verse 20:131 →
And instruct your people with the prayer, and endure over it. We do not ask you for any provision; We are the ones who provide for you. And the ultimate outcome is for conscientious wariness.
Research verse 20:132 →
And they say, “If only he would bring us a sign from his Lord!” Has there not already come to them a clear proof of what is in the former scriptures?
Research verse 20:133 →
And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before it, they would have said, “Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so that we might follow Your signs before we are made low and disgraced?”
Research verse 20:134 →
Say, “Everyone is lying in wait, so lie in wait; then you will surely know who are the companions of the even path, and who it is that has been guided.”
Research verse 20:135 →
