ٱقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ
The reckoning of the people has drawn near, while they are in heedlessness, turning away.
Research verse 21:1 →
مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
No reminder ever comes to them from their Lord, newly brought forth, but that they listen to it while they are playing.
Research verse 21:2 →
لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
Their hearts are heedlessly diverted, while those who have done wrong conceal the secret talk: “Is this nothing but a human being like you? So will you come to the sorcery while you are seeing?”
Research verse 21:3 →
قَالَ رَبِّى يَعْلَمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
He said, “My Lord knows the speech in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.”

بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَضْغَٰثُ أَحْلَٰمٍۭ بَلِ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِـَٔايَةٍ كَمَآ أُرْسِلَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
Rather, they said, “Confused bundles of dreams! Rather, he has fabricated it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign, just as the former ones were sent.”
Research verse 21:5 →
مَآ ءَامَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَآ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
No community that We destroyed before them ever attained faith—so will they then believe?
Research verse 21:6 →
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
And We did not send before you except men to whom We transmit inspiration; so ask the people of the Reminder if you are not knowing.
Research verse 21:7 →
وَمَا جَعَلْنَٰهُمْ جَسَدًا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَٰلِدِينَ
And We did not make them bodies that do not eat food, nor were they everlasting.
Research verse 21:8 →
ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْوَعْدَ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُمْ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ وَأَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
Then We made the promise true to them, so We delivered them and whomever We willed, and We caused the extravagant ones to perish.
Research verse 21:9 →
لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَٰبًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
We have indeed sent down to you a writ in which is your remembrance; will you not then use your reason?
Research verse 21:10 →
وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
And how many a town We smashed that had been wrongdoing, and We brought into being after it another people.
Research verse 21:11 →
فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ
So when they sensed Our might, suddenly they were running away from it.
Research verse 21:12 →
لَا تَرْكُضُوا۟ وَٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَٰكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْـَٔلُونَ
“Do not run, and return to what you were made to live in luxury within, and to your dwellings, so that you might be questioned.”
Research verse 21:13 →
قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
They said, “O our woe! Indeed, we had been unjust.”
Research verse 21:14 →
فَمَا زَالَت تِّلْكَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَٰهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَٰمِدِينَ
And that remained their outcry until We made them like a harvested field, extinguished.
Research verse 21:15 →
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ
And We did not create the sky and the earth and what is between them as players.
Research verse 21:16 →
لَوْ أَرَدْنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَّٱتَّخَذْنَٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ إِن كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
If We had intended to take amusement, We would surely have taken it from that which is with Us—if We were ever doers (of such a thing).
Research verse 21:17 →
بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِٱلْحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلْبَٰطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
Rather, We hurl the truth against falsehood, and it smashes in its skull, then suddenly it is vanishing; and for you is woe because of what you describe.
Research verse 21:18 →
وَلَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ
And to Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth, and those who are with Him do not grow arrogant above His worship, nor do they become worn out.
Research verse 21:19 →
يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ
They glorify [Him] night and day; they do not grow feeble.
Research verse 21:20 →
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَةً مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنشِرُونَ
Or have they taken gods from the earth—(ones) who spread (the dead) forth alive?
Research verse 21:21 →
لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَآ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا فَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
If there had been in them both any gods other than Allah, they would surely have gone to ruin. So transcendent is Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.
Research verse 21:22 →
لَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْـَٔلُونَ
He is not to be questioned about what He does, while they are the ones who will be questioned.
Research verse 21:23 →
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ هَٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِىَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِى بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Or have they taken, apart from Him, [other] gods? Say, “Bring your proof. This is the reminder of whoever is with me, and the reminder of whoever was before me. Rather, most of them do not know the truth, so they are ones who turn away.”
Research verse 21:24 →
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعْبُدُونِ
And We did not send any messenger before you without revealing to him that “There is no god except Me, so serve Me.”
Research verse 21:25 →
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُّكْرَمُونَ
And they say, “The All-Merciful has taken a child.” Glory be to Him! Rather, they are honored servants.
Research verse 21:26 →
لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُۥ بِٱلْقَوْلِ وَهُم بِأَمْرِهِۦ يَعْمَلُونَ
They do not get ahead of Him in speech, and they act according to His command.
Research verse 21:27 →
يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ وَهُم مِّنْ خَشْيَتِهِۦ مُشْفِقُونَ
He knows what is between their hands and what is behind them, and they do not intercede except for one whom He has been pleased with, while they, out of awe of Him, are deeply anxious.
Research verse 21:28 →
وَمَن يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّىٓ إِلَٰهٌ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And whoever among them says, “Indeed I am a god apart from Him” — then that one, We repay with Hell; thus We repay the darkly‑unjust.
Research verse 21:29 →
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَٰهُمَا وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Have those who have denied not seen that the heavens and the earth were a single closed-up mass, then We split them apart, and We made from water every living thing. Will they, then, not trust?
Research verse 21:30 →
وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
And We placed in the earth firmly anchored [masses] so that it would not sway with them, and We placed in it wide clefts as pathways, so that they might be guided.
Research verse 21:31 →
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقْفًا مَّحْفُوظًا وَهُمْ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ
And We made the sky a safeguarded roof, while they, from its signs, are turning away.
Research verse 21:32 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
And He is the One who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; each one, in an orbit, they move.
Research verse 21:33 →
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ ٱلْخُلْدَ أَفَإِي۟ن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلْخَٰلِدُونَ
And We have not assigned everlastingness to any human before you. So if you die, will they then be the ones who last forever?
Research verse 21:34 →
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Every soul is one that will taste death, and We put you to the test by means of bad and good as an ordeal, and to Us you are returned.
Research verse 21:35 →
وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى يَذْكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ هُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ
And when those who have denied see you, they take you only as an object of mockery, [saying], “Is this the one who mentions your gods?” while they, regarding the mention of the All-Merciful, are the ones who are denying.
Research verse 21:36 →
خُلِقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِى فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
The human was created [inclined] to haste. I will soon show you My signs, so do not seek to hasten [them].
Research verse 21:37 →
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
And they say, “When is this appointment, if you are truthful?”
Research verse 21:38 →
لَوْ يَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
If only those who covered [the truth] knew — at the time when they will not hold back the fire from their faces, nor from their backs, and nor will they be helped.
Research verse 21:39 →
بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
No, it will come upon them suddenly and confound them, so they will not be able to turn it back, nor will they be given any delay.
Research verse 21:40 →
وَلَقَدِ ٱسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
And indeed, messengers were made a target of mockery before you; then there closed in upon those who scoffed at them that which they had been mocking with.
Research verse 21:41 →
قُلْ مَن يَكْلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ بَلْ هُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Say, “Who is it that restrains you, by night and day, from the All-Merciful? No; rather, they are, from the remembrance of their Lord, ones who turn away.”
Research verse 21:42 →
أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ
Or do they have gods that shield them apart from Us? They are not able to help their own selves, nor are they accompanied (as protégés) by any company from Us.
Research verse 21:43 →
بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعُمُرُ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِى ٱلْأَرْضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَآ أَفَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ
Rather, We have let these and their fathers enjoy [things] until the lifespan grew long upon them. Do they then not see that We come to the land, diminishing it from its edges? So are they the ones who prevail?
Research verse 21:44 →
قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلْوَحْىِ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ
Say, “I only warn you by means of the revelation; and the deaf do not hear the call whenever they are being warned.”
Research verse 21:45 →
وَلَئِن مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
And if even a single blast from the punishment of your Lord were to touch them, they would surely say, “O our woe! Indeed, we used to be wrongdoers.”
Research verse 21:46 →
وَنَضَعُ ٱلْمَوَٰزِينَ ٱلْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْـًٔا وَإِن كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَٰسِبِينَ
And We shall set up the just balances for the Day of Standing, so no self will be wronged in anything; and even if it is the weight of a grain of mustard, We will bring it, and sufficient are We as reckoners.
Research verse 21:47 →
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَآءً وَذِكْرًا لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
And We certainly granted Moses and Aaron the Separator, and a radiance, and a reminder for those who are mindful (of protection).
Research verse 21:48 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُونَ
Those who are in awe of their Lord in the unseen, and they are anxious about the Hour.
Research verse 21:49 →
وَهَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ أَفَأَنتُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
And this is a blessed reminder which We have sent down; so are you, then, its deniers?
Research verse 21:50 →
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ رُشْدَهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَٰلِمِينَ
And indeed We had given Abraham his right-guidance beforehand, and We had always been knowing about him.
Research verse 21:51 →
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَٰكِفُونَ
When he said to his father and his people, “What are these likeness-forms to which you are devoted in attendance?”
Research verse 21:52 →
قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا لَهَا عَٰبِدِينَ
They said, “We found our fathers as worshippers of it.”
Research verse 21:53 →
قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمْ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
He said, “You and your fathers have indeed been in evident straying.”
Research verse 21:54 →
قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّٰعِبِينَ
They said, “Have you come to us with the truth, or are you of those who play (about)?”
Research verse 21:55 →
قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
He said, “Rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the One who originated them, and I, over that, am among the witnesses.”
Research verse 21:56 →
وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَٰمَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ
And by Allah, I will surely scheme against your idols after you have turned away, retreating.
Research verse 21:57 →
فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ
So he made them into smashed pieces, except for their biggest one, so that they might return to it.
Research verse 21:58 →
قَالُوا۟ مَن فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
They said, “Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is surely among the dark‑doers / wrongdoers.”
Research verse 21:59 →
قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُۥٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ
They said, “We have heard of a young man who mentions them; he is called Abraham.”
Research verse 21:60 →
قَالُوا۟ فَأْتُوا۟ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ
They said, “So bring him under the eyes of the people, so that they might witness.”
Research verse 21:61 →
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَأَنتَ فَعَلْتَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَا يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
They said, “Is it you who has done this to our gods, O Abraham?”
Research verse 21:62 →
قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَسْـَٔلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ يَنطِقُونَ
He said, “Rather, this one— their great one— did it; so question them, if they are able to speak.”
Research verse 21:63 →
فَرَجَعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
So they turned back to their own selves and said, “Indeed, it is you — you who are the darkeners (the ones who do wrong).”
Research verse 21:64 →
ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يَنطِقُونَ
Then they were turned back, upside down in their thinking, [and said], “You have certainly known that these do not speak.”
Research verse 21:65 →
قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ
He said, “So do you serve, apart from Allah, what does not benefit you in any way and does not harm you?”
Research verse 21:66 →
أُفٍّ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
“Fie upon you and upon what you serve apart from Allah! Will you then not use your reason?”
Research verse 21:67 →
قَالُوا۟ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَ
They said, “Burn him, and support your gods if you are ones who act.”
Research verse 21:68 →
قُلْنَا يَٰنَارُ كُونِى بَرْدًا وَسَلَٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
We said, “O fire, be coolness and wholeness upon Abraham.”
Research verse 21:69 →
وَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرِينَ
And they intended a scheme against him, so We made them the greatest losers.
Research verse 21:70 →
وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had endowed with blessing for all the worlds.
Research verse 21:71 →
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةً وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا صَٰلِحِينَ
And We granted him Isaac and Jacob as an extra gift, and each one We made sound and upright.
Research verse 21:72 →
وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا عَٰبِدِينَ
And We made them leaders, guiding by Our command; and We communicated to them the doing of good things, and the upholding of the prayer, and the giving of the zakah; and they were ones who serve Us.
Research verse 21:73 →
وَلُوطًا ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَت تَّعْمَلُ ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَٰسِقِينَ
And Lot — We granted him discernment and knowledge, and We saved him from the town that had been doing the vile things; indeed, they had been a people of evil, defiantly deviant.
Research verse 21:74 →
وَأَدْخَلْنَٰهُ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
And We caused him to enter into Our mercy; indeed, he was surely among the ones who are sound‑acting / set‑right.
Research verse 21:75 →
وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
And Noah, when he called out before, so We responded to him and then saved him and his family from the tremendous distress.
Research verse 21:76 →
وَنَصَرْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
And We supported him against the people who denied Our signs; indeed, they had been a people of evil, so We drowned them all together.
Research verse 21:77 →
وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَٰنَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِى ٱلْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ ٱلْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَٰهِدِينَ
And David and Solomon, when they were judging concerning the cultivated land, when the people’s flock had scattered through it, and We were witnesses to their judgment.
Research verse 21:78 →
فَفَهَّمْنَٰهَا سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيْنَا حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَٱلطَّيْرَ وَكُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
So We made Solomon understand it, and to each [of them] We gave wise judgment and knowledge; and We subjected the mountains, along with David, so that they would declare praise, and [also] the birds — and We were indeed doers.
Research verse 21:79 →
وَعَلَّمْنَٰهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍ لَّكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُم مِّنۢ بَأْسِكُمْ فَهَلْ أَنتُمْ شَٰكِرُونَ
And We taught him the craft of a garment for you, so that it might fortify you against your own might; so are you then grateful?
Research verse 21:80 →
وَلِسُلَيْمَٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةً تَجْرِى بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِى بَٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَٰلِمِينَ
And for Solomon [We subjected] the stormy wind, running by his command toward the land which We had blessed within it; and We had always been Knowing of every thing.
Research verse 21:81 →
وَمِنَ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَٰفِظِينَ
And among the shayāṭīn were those who dive for him and perform work other than that, and We were, over them, guardians.
Research verse 21:82 →
وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
And Job, when he called out to his Lord, “Indeed, harm has touched me, and You are the most merciful of those who show mercy.”
Research verse 21:83 →
فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرٍّ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ أَهْلَهُۥ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَٰبِدِينَ
So We responded to him, then We removed from him what there was of harm, and We granted him his family and the like of them along with them, as a mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers.
Research verse 21:84 →
وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ كُلٌّ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
And Ishmael, and Idrees, and the possessor of the share — each one was among those who endure.
Research verse 21:85 →
وَأَدْخَلْنَٰهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
And We made them enter into Our mercy; indeed, they were among the ones who are sound‑acting.
Research verse 21:86 →
وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off angrily and supposed that We would never have power over him. Then he called out in the darknesses: “There is no god except You. Glory be to You! Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.”
Research verse 21:87 →
فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُـۨجِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
So We responded to him and rescued him from the gloom, and thus We rescue the believers.
Research verse 21:88 →
وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
And [remember] Zechariah, when he called out to his Lord, “My Lord, do not leave me solitary, while You are the best of inheritors.”
Research verse 21:89 →
فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُۥ زَوْجَهُۥٓ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَٰشِعِينَ
So We responded to him, and We granted him Yahyā, and We set his spouse aright. Indeed, they used to hasten in the good things, and they would call upon Us in longing and in awe, and they used to be humbly subdued before Us.
Research verse 21:90 →
وَٱلَّتِىٓ أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلْنَٰهَا وَٱبْنَهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And the one who fortified her private part, so We blew into her from Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all the worlds.
Research verse 21:91 →
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُونِ
Indeed, this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so serve Me.
Research verse 21:92 →
وَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ كُلٌّ إِلَيْنَا رَٰجِعُونَ
Yet they tore apart their affair among themselves; each one is returning to Us.
Research verse 21:93 →
فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَٰتِبُونَ
So whoever does from the sound deeds while he is one who trusts (in God), then there is no covering over his striving, and indeed We are ones who write it down for him.
Research verse 21:94 →
وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ
And it is forbidden for a town that We have destroyed that they do not return.
Research verse 21:95 →
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنسِلُونَ
Until, when Gog and Magog have been opened, and they, from every mound, are swarming out,
Research verse 21:96 →
وَٱقْتَرَبَ ٱلْوَعْدُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِىَ شَٰخِصَةٌ أَبْصَٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
And the true promise drew near, then suddenly the eyes of those who covered [the truth] are fixed, [saying], “O our woe! We had indeed been in heedlessness of this; rather, we had been wrongdoers.”
Research verse 21:97 →
إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَٰرِدُونَ
Indeed, you and what you serve apart from Allah are the fuel of Hell; you are ones who will come to it.
Research verse 21:98 →
لَوْ كَانَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ءَالِهَةً مَّا وَرَدُوهَا وَكُلٌّ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
If these had been gods, they would not have come to it; and all of them, in it, will be abiding.
Research verse 21:99 →
لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
For them in it is a roaring exhalation, and they, in it, do not hear.
Research verse 21:100 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلْحُسْنَىٰٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ
Indeed, those for whom the best has already gone ahead from Us – they are kept far away from it.
Research verse 21:101 →
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا وَهُمْ فِى مَا ٱشْتَهَتْ أَنفُسُهُمْ خَٰلِدُونَ
They will not hear its faint sound, while they remain forever in what their selves have desired.
Research verse 21:102 →
لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ ٱلْفَزَعُ ٱلْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
The greatest panic will not grieve them, and the angels will receive them: “This is your Day which you used to be promised.”
Research verse 21:103 →
يَوْمَ نَطْوِى ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَىِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ كَمَا بَدَأْنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُّعِيدُهُۥ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
The Day We fold up the sky like the folding of the scroll for the writings: just as We began the first creation, We bring it back — a promise binding upon Us; indeed, We have always been doers.
Research verse 21:104 →
وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِى ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلذِّكْرِ أَنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِىَ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ
And indeed We have written in the Zabūr, after the Reminder, that the earth shall be inherited by My righteous servants.
Research verse 21:105 →
إِنَّ فِى هَٰذَا لَبَلَٰغًا لِّقَوْمٍ عَٰبِدِينَ
Indeed, in this there is surely a conveying‑message for a people who are devoted in worship.
Research verse 21:106 →
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And We have not sent you except as a mercy to all the realms.
Research verse 21:107 →
قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
Say, “It is only being communicated to me that your god is one God; so are you submitters?”
Research verse 21:108 →
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ ءَاذَنتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٍ وَإِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ
So if they turn away, then say, “I have made you know, on equal terms, and I do not know whether what you are promised is near or far.”
Research verse 21:109 →
إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ
Indeed, He knows the open from the speech, and He knows what you conceal.
Research verse 21:110 →
وَإِنْ أَدْرِى لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتْنَةٌ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
And I do not know; perhaps it is a test for you and an enjoyment until a time.
Research verse 21:111 →
قَٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ
He said, “My Lord, decide with the truth. And our Lord is the All-Merciful, the One whose help is sought against what you describe.”
Research verse 21:112 →
