الٓر كِتَٰبٌ أُحْكِمَتْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ
Alif–Lam–Ra. A Book whose signs have been made firm, then set out in detail, from the presence of One who is wise, all-aware.
Research verse 11:1 →
أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنَّنِى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ
That you serve none but Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a warner and a bringer of good news.
Research verse 11:2 →
وَأَنِ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يُمَتِّعْكُم مَّتَٰعًا حَسَنًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَيُؤْتِ كُلَّ ذِى فَضْلٍ فَضْلَهُۥ وَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ كَبِيرٍ
And that you seek covering-forgiveness from your Lord, then turn back to Him; He will let you enjoy an excellent enjoyment for a specified term, and He will give every possessor of surplus his surplus. But if you turn away, then I fear for you the repair-punishment of a great Day.
Research verse 11:3 →
إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
To Allah is your return, and He is capable over every thing.
Research verse 11:4 →
أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟ مِنْهُ أَلَا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
No indeed! They fold up their chests to hide themselves from Him. No indeed! Even when they shroud themselves with their garments, He knows what they keep secret and what they make public; He is, indeed, Knowing of what is (truly) within the chests.
Research verse 11:5 →
وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا كُلٌّ فِى كِتَٰبٍ مُّبِينٍ
And there is no crawling creature in the earth but that its provision is upon God; and He knows its place of settlement and its place of deposit. All is in a clear writ.
Research verse 11:6 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَكَانَ عَرْشُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلْمَآءِ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا وَلَئِن قُلْتَ إِنَّكُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْمَوْتِ لَيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
And He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and His throne was upon the water, so that He may test you [to see] which of you is best in deed. Yet if you say, “You will surely be raised after death,” those who have denied will certainly say, “This is nothing but clear sorcery.”
Research verse 11:7 →
وَلَئِنْ أَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍ مَّعْدُودَةٍ لَّيَقُولُنَّ مَا يَحْبِسُهُۥٓ أَلَا يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمْ لَيْسَ مَصْرُوفًا عَنْهُمْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
And if We delay the punishment away from them for a counted term, they will surely say, “What is holding it back?” Behold! On the Day it comes to them, it will not be turned away from them, and there will surround them what they had been mocking.
Research verse 11:8 →
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً ثُمَّ نَزَعْنَٰهَا مِنْهُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيَـُٔوسٌ كَفُورٌ
And if We make the human taste a mercy from Us, then pull it away from him, he is indeed surely one who greatly despairs, (and is) intensely ungrateful.
Research verse 11:9 →
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَٰهُ نَعْمَآءَ بَعْدَ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ ذَهَبَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتُ عَنِّىٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَفَرِحٌ فَخُورٌ
And if We make him taste pleasant ease after hardship has touched him, he will surely say, “The bad things have gone away from me.” Indeed, he is surely exultant, boastful.
Research verse 11:10 →
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ
Except those who endured and did sound deeds; those – for them is a covering (of faults) and a great recompense.
Research verse 11:11 →
فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌۢ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَضَآئِقٌۢ بِهِۦ صَدْرُكَ أَن يَقُولُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُۥ مَلَكٌ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ نَذِيرٌ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَكِيلٌ
So perhaps you would be leaving aside some of what is being revealed to you, and your chest is becoming constricted by it, because they say, “Why has a treasure not been sent down upon him, or an angel come with him?” You are only a warner, and Allah is Trustee over every thing.
Research verse 11:12 →
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِّثْلِهِۦ مُفْتَرَيَٰتٍ وَٱدْعُوا۟ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Or do they say, “He has fabricated it”? Say, “Then bring ten chapters like it, fabricated ones, and call whomever you are able, apart from Allah, if you are truthful.”
Research verse 11:13 →
فَإِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ بِعِلْمِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
So if they do not respond to you, then know that it has only been sent down with Allah’s knowledge, and that there is no god except Him. So are you submitters?
Research verse 11:14 →
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا نُوَفِّ إِلَيْهِمْ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فِيهَا وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يُبْخَسُونَ
Whoever has been wanting the lowly life and its adornment – We will fully pay out to them their deeds within it, and they will not be under-allocated in it.
Research verse 11:15 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارُ وَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوا۟ فِيهَا وَبَٰطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Those are the ones who have, in the Later [life], nothing except the Fire; and what they crafted in it has been nullified, and false is what they had been doing.
Research verse 11:16 →
أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ وَيَتْلُوهُ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْهُ وَمِن قَبْلِهِۦ كِتَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ فَٱلنَّارُ مَوْعِدُهُۥ فَلَا تَكُ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْهُ إِنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Is then one who is upon a clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it, and before it was the Book of Moses as a leader and mercy – those are the ones who trust in it. And whoever covers it over, from among the factions, then the Fire is his appointed place. So do not be in doubt about it; indeed, it is the truth from your Lord – but most of the people do not trust.
Research verse 11:17 →
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْأَشْهَٰدُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أَلَا لَعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And who is more darkly unjust than one who fabricates a lie against Allah? Those are the ones who will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, “These are the ones who lied against their Lord.” Behold! the banishment of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.
Research verse 11:18 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ
those who turn away [people] from the path of Allah and seek for it crookedness, while as for the Hereafter, they are the ones who are deniers.
Research verse 11:19 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ مُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ يُضَٰعَفُ لَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يُبْصِرُونَ
Those are ones who had never been outstripping [God] on the earth, and they had no allies apart from Allah. The punishment is multiplied for them: they had not been able to listen, and they had not been seeing.
Research verse 11:20 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
Those are the ones who have lost their own selves, and vanished from them is what they used to fabricate.
Research verse 11:21 →
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ
No escape: indeed, they, in the Hereafter, are the most losing ones.
Research verse 11:22 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَأَخْبَتُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
Indeed, those who have trusted and done the sound deeds and have yielded humbly toward their Lord — those are the companions of the Garden; they are remaining therein.
Research verse 11:23 →
مَثَلُ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْأَصَمِّ وَٱلْبَصِيرِ وَٱلسَّمِيعِ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
The likeness of the two groups is as the blind and the deaf, and the seeing and the hearing. Do the two of them equalize in likeness? Will you, then, not take heed?
Research verse 11:24 →
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
And indeed We sent Noah to his people: “Indeed, I am to you a manifest warner.”
Research verse 11:25 →
أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ
“That you do not serve except God. Indeed, I fear for you the correction of a painful day.”
Research verse 11:26 →
فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا نَرَىٰكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَىٰكَ ٱتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِىَ ٱلرَّأْىِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍۭ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَٰذِبِينَ
Then the chiefs who had denied from among his people said, “We do not see you except as a human being like ourselves, and we do not see that any have followed you except those who are the lowest of us, at the first glance; and we do not see for you any advantage over us. Rather, we think you are liars.”
Research verse 11:27 →
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَءَاتَىٰنِى رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمْ لَهَا كَٰرِهُونَ
He said, “O my people, have you considered: if I am upon a clear proof from my Lord, and He has given me a mercy from Himself, but it has been blinded to you—shall I compel you to it while you are averse to it?”
Research verse 11:28 →
وَيَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَٰكِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ
And O my people, I do not ask you for it any wealth; my recompense is only upon God. And I am not one to drive away those who have believed; indeed, they are ones who will meet their Lord. But I see you as a people who are ignorant.
Research verse 11:29 →
وَيَٰقَوْمِ مَن يَنصُرُنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِن طَرَدتُّهُمْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
And O my people, who will support me against Allah if I drive them away? Will you then not take heed?
Research verse 11:30 →
وَلَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِى خَزَآئِنُ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ وَلَآ أَقُولُ إِنِّى مَلَكٌ وَلَآ أَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ تَزْدَرِىٓ أَعْيُنُكُمْ لَن يُؤْتِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ خَيْرًا ٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ إِنِّىٓ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And I do not say to you, “With me are the treasuries of God,” nor do I know the hidden; nor do I say, “I am an angel”; nor do I say, regarding those whom your eyes despise, “God will never grant them any good.” God is most knowing of what is within their selves, for if I did, then I would surely be among the wrongdoers.
Research verse 11:31 →
قَالُوا۟ يَٰنُوحُ قَدْ جَٰدَلْتَنَا فَأَكْثَرْتَ جِدَٰلَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
They said, “O Noah, you have argued with us, and you have multiplied your arguing with us, so bring us what you promise us, if you are among the truthful.”
Research verse 11:32 →
قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَأْتِيكُم بِهِ ٱللَّهُ إِن شَآءَ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ
He said, “Only Allah will bring it to you, if He wills; and you are not ones who can frustrate (Him).”
Research verse 11:33 →
وَلَا يَنفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِىٓ إِنْ أَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَنصَحَ لَكُمْ إِن كَانَ ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يُغْوِيَكُمْ هُوَ رَبُّكُمْ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
And my sincere counsel will not benefit you, even if I intend to sincerely counsel you, if Allah intends to let you go astray. He is your Lord, and to Him you are returned.
Research verse 11:34 →
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَعَلَىَّ إِجْرَامِى وَأَنَا۠ بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُونَ
Or do they say, “He has fabricated it”? Say, “If I have fabricated it, then upon me is my offending; and I am clear of what you are offending in.”
Research verse 11:35 →
وَأُوحِىَ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ أَنَّهُۥ لَن يُؤْمِنَ مِن قَوْمِكَ إِلَّا مَن قَدْ ءَامَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ
And it was communicated by inspiration to Noah that none from your people will ever trust (in this) except whoever has already trusted; so do not be distressed by what they have been doing.
Research verse 11:36 →
وَٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ
“And make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration, and do not address Me regarding those who have done wrong; indeed, they are ones who will be drowned.”
Research verse 11:37 →
وَيَصْنَعُ ٱلْفُلْكَ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَأٌ مِّن قَوْمِهِۦ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُ قَالَ إِن تَسْخَرُوا۟ مِنَّا فَإِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُونَ
And he was crafting the ship, and whenever a chief from his people passed by him, they mocked him. He said, “If you mock us, then indeed we will mock you just as you mock.”
Research verse 11:38 →
فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ
So you will come to know who it is that a punishment will come to, disgracing him, and upon whom a lasting punishment will settle.
Research verse 11:39 →
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ قُلْنَا ٱحْمِلْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ ءَامَنَ وَمَآ ءَامَنَ مَعَهُۥٓ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ
Until, when Our command came and the furnace boiled over, We said, “Carry in it, from every [kind], two pairs, and your people—except whoever the word has already gone ahead against—and whoever has trusted.” But none trusted with him except a few.
Research verse 11:40 →
وَقَالَ ٱرْكَبُوا۟ فِيهَا بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ مَجْر۪ىٰهَا وَمُرْسَىٰهَآ إِنَّ رَبِّى لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
And he said, “Board it; in the name of Allah is its running and its coming to rest. Indeed, my Lord is surely All-Covering (in forgiveness), Ever-Merciful.”
Research verse 11:41 →
وَهِىَ تَجْرِى بِهِمْ فِى مَوْجٍ كَٱلْجِبَالِ وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ ٱبْنَهُۥ وَكَانَ فِى مَعْزِلٍ يَٰبُنَىَّ ٱرْكَب مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُن مَّعَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And it was running with them amid waves like mountains, and Noah called out to his son, while he was in a place apart: “My dear son, embark with us, and do not be with those who cover [the truth].”
Research verse 11:42 →
قَالَ سَـَٔاوِىٓ إِلَىٰ جَبَلٍ يَعْصِمُنِى مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُغْرَقِينَ
He said, “I will soon take refuge toward a mountain; it will protect me from the water.” He said, “There is no protector today against the command of Allah, except one upon whom He has mercy.” Then the wave came between the two of them, so he was among those drowned.
Research verse 11:43 →
وَقِيلَ يَٰٓأَرْضُ ٱبْلَعِى مَآءَكِ وَيَٰسَمَآءُ أَقْلِعِى وَغِيضَ ٱلْمَآءُ وَقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَٱسْتَوَتْ عَلَى ٱلْجُودِىِّ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And it was said, “O earth, swallow your water,” and “O sky, cease,” so the water was diminished, and the matter was concluded, and it settled upon al‑Jūdī, and it was said, “Far removed are the wrongdoing people.”
Research verse 11:44 →
وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُۥ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ٱبْنِى مِنْ أَهْلِى وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ
And Noah called upon his Lord and said, “My Lord, indeed my son is from my household, and indeed Your promise is the truth, and You are the most decisive of judges.”
Research verse 11:45 →
قَالَ يَٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ إِنَّهُۥ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَٰلِحٍ فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ إِنِّىٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ
He said, “O Noah, indeed he is not from your people; indeed, it is a deed that is not sound. So do not ask Me about what you have no knowledge of. Indeed, I admonish you, lest you be among the ignorant.”
Research verse 11:46 →
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِى وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
He said, “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from that I should ask You about what I have no knowledge of; and if You do not forgive me and have mercy on me, I will be among the losers.”
Research verse 11:47 →
قِيلَ يَٰنُوحُ ٱهْبِطْ بِسَلَٰمٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَٰتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰٓ أُمَمٍ مِّمَّن مَّعَكَ وَأُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
It was said, “O Noah, descend with well‑being from Us and blessings upon you and upon communities from among those with you; and (other) communities We will let enjoy (for a while), then a painful punishment from Us will touch them.”
Research verse 11:48 →
تِلْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهَآ إِلَيْكَ مَا كُنتَ تَعْلَمُهَآ أَنتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِن قَبْلِ هَٰذَا فَٱصْبِرْ إِنَّ ٱلْعَٰقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
That is from the reports of the hidden realm which We reveal to you. You had not been knowing them—neither you nor your people—before this. So endure, for the ultimate outcome belongs to those who are mindful (of God).
Research verse 11:49 →
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُفْتَرُونَ
And to ʿĀd, [We sent] their brother Hūd. He said, “My people, serve Allah; you have no god whatsoever apart from Him. You are nothing but fabricators.”
Research verse 11:50 →
يَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِىٓ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
O my people, I do not ask you for it any compensation; my compensation is only upon the One who originated me. Will you not then use your reason?
Research verse 11:51 →
وَيَٰقَوْمِ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
And my people, seek covering-forgiveness from your Lord, then turn back to Him; He will send the sky upon you in abundant outpouring, and He will increase you in strength on top of your strength. And do not turn away as ones who commit crime.
Research verse 11:52 →
قَالُوا۟ يَٰهُودُ مَا جِئْتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِتَارِكِىٓ ءَالِهَتِنَا عَن قَوْلِكَ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
They said, “O Hūd, you have not come to us with any clear proof, and we are not ones to leave our gods on account of your statement, and we are not ones who will believe in you.”
Research verse 11:53 →
إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا ٱعْتَرَىٰكَ بَعْضُ ءَالِهَتِنَا بِسُوٓءٍ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُشْهِدُ ٱللَّهَ وَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟ أَنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ
We say nothing except that some of our gods have afflicted you with harm.” He said, “Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and you (too) bear witness that I am clear of whatever you join (with Him as partners).
Research verse 11:54 →
مِن دُونِهِۦ فَكِيدُونِى جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ
apart from Him. So scheme against me, all together, then do not grant me any delay.
Research verse 11:55 →
إِنِّى تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رَبِّى وَرَبِّكُم مَّا مِن دَآبَّةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ ءَاخِذٌۢ بِنَاصِيَتِهَآ إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
I have entrusted myself to Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creeping creature but that He is one taking hold of its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is upon a straight path.
Research verse 11:56 →
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّى قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ
So if you turn away, then I have indeed conveyed to you what I was sent with to you, and my Lord will cause a people other than you to succeed (you), and you will not harm Him in any way. Indeed, my Lord is, over every thing, a Preserver.
Research verse 11:57 →
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُودًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ
And when Our command came, We delivered Hūd and those who had believed with him, by a mercy from Us, and We delivered them from a severe punishment.
Research verse 11:58 →
وَتِلْكَ عَادٌ جَحَدُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا۟ رُسُلَهُۥ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ
And that was ʿĀd: they repudiated the signs of their Lord, and disobeyed His messengers, and followed the command of every overbearing, obstinate one.
Research verse 11:59 →
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ أَلَآ إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍ
And they were made to be followed, in this present life, by a curse, and on the Day of Standing. Behold, ʿĀd indeed covered up (the truth of) their Lord. Behold, (let there be) a removal far away for ʿĀd, the people of Hūd.
Research verse 11:60 →
وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَٰلِحًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ هُوَ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا فَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ إِنَّ رَبِّى قَرِيبٌ مُّجِيبٌ
And to Thamud [We sent] their brother, Salih. He said, “My people, serve Allah; you have no god apart from Him. He is the One who brought you into being from the earth and caused you to thrive in it, so seek His covering (of your faults), then turn back to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near, responsive.”
Research verse 11:61 →
قَالُوا۟ يَٰصَٰلِحُ قَدْ كُنتَ فِينَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هَٰذَآ أَتَنْهَىٰنَآ أَن نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَإِنَّنَا لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَآ إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ
They said, “O Ṣāliḥ, you were indeed, among us, one looked to (with expectation) before this. Do you forbid us that we worship what our fathers worship? And indeed we are, regarding that to which you are calling us, in a doubt that stirs contention.”
Research verse 11:62 →
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَءَاتَىٰنِى مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً فَمَن يَنصُرُنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ عَصَيْتُهُۥ فَمَا تَزِيدُونَنِى غَيْرَ تَخْسِيرٍ
He said, “O my people, have you considered: if I am upon a clear proof from my Lord, and He has given me from Himself a mercy, then who will support me against Allah if I disobey Him? So you do not increase me in anything but causing loss.”
Research verse 11:63 →
وَيَٰقَوْمِ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةً فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِىٓ أَرْضِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ قَرِيبٌ
And O my people, this is Allah’s she‑camel for you as a sign; so leave her to eat in Allah’s land, and do not touch her with any evil, lest a near punishment seize you.
Research verse 11:64 →
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ فِى دَارِكُمْ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ذَٰلِكَ وَعْدٌ غَيْرُ مَكْذُوبٍ
So they crippled her, and he said, “Enjoy yourselves in your dwelling-place for three days; that is an appointment not to be belied.”
Research verse 11:65 →
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا صَٰلِحًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَمِنْ خِزْىِ يَوْمِئِذٍ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْقَوِىُّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ
Then when Our command came, We delivered Ṣāliḥ and those who had trusted along with him, by a mercy from Us, and [delivered them] from the disgrace of that Day. Indeed, your Lord—He is the Strong, the Mighty.
Research verse 11:66 →
وَأَخَذَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَٰرِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ
Then the Cry seized those who had done wrong, so they became in their dwellings, fallen motionless.
Research verse 11:67 →
كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَآ أَلَآ إِنَّ ثَمُودَا۟ كَفَرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّثَمُودَ
As though they had never dwelt there. Indeed, Thamud denied their Lord. Indeed, distance [be] for Thamud.
Research verse 11:68 →
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًا قَالَ سَلَٰمٌ فَمَا لَبِثَ أَن جَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ حَنِيذٍ
And indeed, Our envoys came to Abraham with the good news; they said, “Peace.” He said, “Peace.” Then he did not remain but that he came with a calf, roasted.
Research verse 11:69 →
فَلَمَّا رَءَآ أَيْدِيَهُمْ لَا تَصِلُ إِلَيْهِ نَكِرَهُمْ وَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ
Then when he saw that their hands were not reaching toward it, he regarded them as unfamiliar and sensed fear from them. They said, “Do not fear; indeed, we have been sent to the people of Lot.”
Research verse 11:70 →
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَٰهَا بِإِسْحَٰقَ وَمِن وَرَآءِ إِسْحَٰقَ يَعْقُوبَ
And his wife was standing, then she laughed; so We gave her good tidings of Isaac, and, beyond Isaac, Jacob.
Research verse 11:71 →
قَالَتْ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ ءَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا۠ عَجُوزٌ وَهَٰذَا بَعْلِى شَيْخًا إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ
She said, “O my woe! Shall I give birth while I am an old woman, and this is my husband, an old man? Indeed, this is surely a remarkable thing.”
Research verse 11:72 →
قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَعْجَبِينَ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ رَحْمَتُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَٰتُهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ إِنَّهُۥ حَمِيدٌ مَّجِيدٌ
They said, “Are you amazed at the affair of God? God’s mercy and His blessings are upon you, people of the household. Indeed, He is One who is praised, full of glory.”
Research verse 11:73 →
فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلرَّوْعُ وَجَآءَتْهُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَٰدِلُنَا فِى قَوْمِ لُوطٍ
Then when the alarm left Abraham and the good news came to him, he began to contend with Us concerning the people of Lot.
Research verse 11:74 →
إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّٰهٌ مُّنِيبٌ
Indeed, Abraham was surely forbearing, oft‑sighing, turning back.
Research verse 11:75 →
يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَٰذَآ إِنَّهُۥ قَدْ جَآءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ وَإِنَّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُودٍ
O Abraham, turn away from this. Indeed, the command of your Lord has already come, and a punishment that is not to be turned back is indeed coming upon them.
Research verse 11:76 →
وَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِىٓءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ
And when Our messengers came to Lot, he was made to feel bad on their account and felt constrained in capacity because of them, and he said, “This is a grievous day.”
Research verse 11:77 →
وَجَآءَهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِى هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِى ضَيْفِىٓ أَلَيْسَ مِنكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيدٌ
And his people came rushing toward him, while before this they had been doing the bad deeds. He said, “O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So be wary of Allah and do not disgrace me regarding my guests. Is there not among you a man of sound judgment?”
Research verse 11:78 →
قَالُوا۟ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِى بَنَاتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيدُ
They said, “You have indeed known that we have no rightful claim in your daughters, and you surely know what we want.”
Research verse 11:79 →
قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِى بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ ءَاوِىٓ إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ
He said, “If only I had, in relation to you, some power, or could seek shelter toward a firm support.”
Research verse 11:80 →
قَالُوا۟ يَٰلُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَن يَصِلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْكَ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَكَ إِنَّهُۥ مُصِيبُهَا مَآ أَصَابَهُمْ إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ ٱلصُّبْحُ أَلَيْسَ ٱلصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيبٍ
They said, “O Lot, we are messengers of your Lord; they will never reach you. So travel by night with your family in a segment of the night, and let none of you turn back, except your wife; indeed, what struck them will be striking her. Indeed, their appointed time is the morning. Is not the morning near?”
Research verse 11:81 →
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ مَّنضُودٍ
Then when Our command came, We made its upper part its lower, and We rained upon it stones from sijjīl, piled up.
Research verse 11:82 →
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ وَمَا هِىَ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بِبَعِيدٍ
marked out in the presence of your Lord; and it is not far from the wrongdoers.
Research verse 11:83 →
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ وَلَا تَنقُصُوا۟ ٱلْمِكْيَالَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُم بِخَيْرٍ وَإِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ مُّحِيطٍ
And to Madyan, [We sent] their brother Shuʿayb. He said, “My people, serve Allah; you have no god other than Him. And do not reduce the measure and the balance. Indeed, I see you in prosperity, and indeed, I fear for you the punishment of an encompassing day.”
Research verse 11:84 →
وَيَٰقَوْمِ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْمِكْيَالَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
And my people, fulfill the measure and the balance with equity, and do not diminish people’s things, and do not go about in the land as corrupters.
Research verse 11:85 →
بَقِيَّتُ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُم بِحَفِيظٍ
What remains from Allah is better for you, if you are believers; and I am not a keeper over you.
Research verse 11:86 →
قَالُوا۟ يَٰشُعَيْبُ أَصَلَوٰتُكَ تَأْمُرُكَ أَن نَّتْرُكَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَآ أَوْ أَن نَّفْعَلَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِنَا مَا نَشَٰٓؤُا۟ إِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ ٱلْحَلِيمُ ٱلرَّشِيدُ
They said, “O Shuʿayb, is it your ṣalāh that commands you that we should abandon what our fathers worship, or that we should not do, within our wealth, whatever we will? Indeed, you are surely the clement, the rightly-guided.”
Research verse 11:87 →
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ
He said, “My people, have you considered: if I am upon a clear evidence from my Lord, and He has provided me from Himself with a good provision? And I do not intend to go against you toward that which I forbid you from; I intend nothing but setting things right as far as I am able. And my making things accord is only by God; upon Him I have relied, and to Him I turn back.”
Research verse 11:88 →
وَيَٰقَوْمِ لَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شِقَاقِىٓ أَن يُصِيبَكُم مِّثْلُ مَآ أَصَابَ قَوْمَ نُوحٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ هُودٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ صَٰلِحٍ وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مِّنكُم بِبَعِيدٍ
And O my people, let not my opposition (to you) drive you so that something like what struck the people of Noah, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih strikes you; and the people of Lot are not far from you.
Research verse 11:89 →
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ إِنَّ رَبِّى رَحِيمٌ وَدُودٌ
And seek covering‑forgiveness from your Lord, then turn back to Him; indeed, my Lord is ever‑merciful, deeply loving.
Research verse 11:90 →
قَالُوا۟ يَٰشُعَيْبُ مَا نَفْقَهُ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا تَقُولُ وَإِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِينَا ضَعِيفًا وَلَوْلَا رَهْطُكَ لَرَجَمْنَٰكَ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْنَا بِعَزِيزٍ
They said, “O Shuʿayb, we do not grasp much of what you say, and indeed we surely see you among us as weak; and were it not for your clan, we would certainly have pelted you, and you are not, over us, one possessed of strength.”
Research verse 11:91 →
قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَهْطِىٓ أَعَزُّ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُ وَرَآءَكُمْ ظِهْرِيًّا إِنَّ رَبِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ
He said, “O my people, is my clan stronger with you than Allah? And you have taken Him as something cast behind your backs. Indeed, my Lord is all‑encompassing of what you do.”
Research verse 11:92 →
وَيَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّى عَٰمِلٌ سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ كَٰذِبٌ وَٱرْتَقِبُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُمْ رَقِيبٌ
And O my people, act according to your standing; indeed, I am acting. Soon you will know who it is that a punishment comes upon, disgracing him, and who is the liar. And wait; indeed, I am with you, one who is watching.
Research verse 11:93 →
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا شُعَيْبًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَٰرِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ
And when Our command came, We delivered Shuʿayb and those who had attained faith along with him, by a mercy from Us; and the Cry seized those who had done wrong, so they became, in their dwellings, fallen motionless.
Research verse 11:94 →
كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَآ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّمَدْيَنَ كَمَا بَعِدَتْ ثَمُودُ
As though they had never settled there. Oh, away with Madyan, just as Thamud was made distant.
Research verse 11:95 →
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
And indeed We sent Moses with Our signs and an evident authority.
Research verse 11:96 →
إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَآ أَمْرُ فِرْعَوْنَ بِرَشِيدٍ
To Pharaoh and his chiefs; so they followed Pharaoh’s command, while Pharaoh’s command was not soundly guided.
Research verse 11:97 →
يَقْدُمُ قَوْمَهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَأَوْرَدَهُمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْوِرْدُ ٱلْمَوْرُودُ
He comes at the head of his people on the Day of Standing, then he makes them arrive at the Fire — and how evil is the arrival to which they are made to arrive.
Research verse 11:98 →
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟ فِى هَٰذِهِۦ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ بِئْسَ ٱلرِّفْدُ ٱلْمَرْفُودُ
And they were made to be followed, in this [life], by a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection. How miserable is the support that is supported.
Research verse 11:99 →
ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّهُۥ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهَا قَآئِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ
That is from the reports of the towns which We relate to you; among them is one standing and one mown down.
Research verse 11:100 →
وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ وَلَٰكِن ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَمَآ أَغْنَتْ عَنْهُمْ ءَالِهَتُهُمُ ٱلَّتِى يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ لَّمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ وَمَا زَادُوهُمْ غَيْرَ تَتْبِيبٍ
And We did not wrong them, but they wronged their own selves. So their gods, which they would call upon apart from Allah, did not enrich them in anything when the command of your Lord came; and they did not add to them anything except utter ruin.
Research verse 11:101 →
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَآ أَخَذَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَهِىَ ظَٰلِمَةٌ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُۥٓ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ
And thus is the taking of your Lord when He takes the towns while they are doing wrong; indeed, His taking is painful and intense.
Research verse 11:102 →
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّمَنْ خَافَ عَذَابَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّجْمُوعٌ لَّهُ ٱلنَّاسُ وَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّشْهُودٌ
Indeed, in that is a sign for whoever feared the punishment of the Later [life]. That is a Day on which mankind are gathered for it, and that is a Day that is witnessed.
Research verse 11:103 →
وَمَا نُؤَخِّرُهُۥٓ إِلَّا لِأَجَلٍ مَّعْدُودٍ
And We do not postpone it except to a counted term.
Research verse 11:104 →
يَوْمَ يَأْتِ لَا تَكَلَّمُ نَفْسٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِىٌّ وَسَعِيدٌ
The Day it comes, no self will speak except with His permission; then among them [there will be] one who is wretched and one who is happy.
Research verse 11:105 →
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ شَقُوا۟ فَفِى ٱلنَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَشَهِيقٌ
So as for those who were wretched, then [they are] in the Fire; for them therein is a harsh rasping and a choking gasp.
Research verse 11:106 →
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
Remaining therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord may will. Indeed, your Lord is a doer of what He intends.
Research verse 11:107 →
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ سُعِدُوا۟ فَفِى ٱلْجَنَّةِ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ عَطَآءً غَيْرَ مَجْذُوذٍ
And as for those who were made fortunate, then they are in the Garden, remaining therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord may will — a gift not cut off.
Research verse 11:108 →
فَلَا تَكُ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّمَّا يَعْبُدُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَا يَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُهُم مِّن قَبْلُ وَإِنَّا لَمُوَفُّوهُمْ نَصِيبَهُمْ غَيْرَ مَنقُوصٍ
So do not be in doubt about what these are serving; they serve nothing but as their fathers served before, and indeed We will fully pay them their allotted share, without any reduction.
Research verse 11:109 →
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ فَٱخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ
And We certainly brought to Moses the Book, then it was differed about; and were it not for a word that had already gone ahead from your Lord, judgment would indeed have been concluded between them; and truly they are, about it, in a doubt that causes disturbance.
Research verse 11:110 →
وَإِنَّ كُلًّا لَّمَّا لَيُوَفِّيَنَّهُمْ رَبُّكَ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
And indeed, each and every one — your Lord will most surely pay them in full for their deeds; indeed, He is fully informed of what they do.
Research verse 11:111 →
فَٱسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا۟ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
So stand straight as you have been commanded, and whoever has turned back [to God] along with you; and do not exceed the limits. Indeed, He is, of what you do, All‑Seeing.
Research verse 11:112 →
وَلَا تَرْكَنُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ فَتَمَسَّكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ
And do not lean toward those who have done wrong, so the Fire would touch you; and you have, apart from Allah, no allies; then you will not be given help.
Research verse 11:113 →
وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَىِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ إِنَّ ٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ يُذْهِبْنَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّٰكِرِينَ
And establish the prayer at the two edges of the daytime and at close‑approaches from the night. Indeed, the good deeds make the bad deeds go away. That is a reminder for those who remember.
Research verse 11:114 →
وَٱصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
And endure, for indeed Allah does not let the reward of the doers of excellence go to waste.
Research verse 11:115 →
فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْفَسَادِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَآ أُتْرِفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
So why, then, were there not among the generations before you owners of a remaining (moral) residue, forbidding corruption in the land—except a few of those whom We saved from among them? But those who did wrong followed what they had been made to luxuriate in, and they were criminals.
Research verse 11:116 →
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ
And your Lord was not to destroy the towns through wrongdoing while their people were setting things right.
Research verse 11:117 →
وَلَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَا يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ
And had your Lord willed, He would surely have made the people a single community, but they will not cease being in disagreement.
Research verse 11:118 →
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ رَبُّكَ وَلِذَٰلِكَ خَلَقَهُمْ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
Except those whom your Lord has shown mercy to; and for that He created them. And the word of your Lord was fulfilled: “I will surely fill Hell with the jinn and humankind all together.”
Research verse 11:119 →
وَكُلًّا نَّقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَ وَجَآءَكَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And each [of them] We recount to you from the reports of the messengers, [as that] by which We make your heart firm; and there has come to you in this the truth, and an admonition, and a reminder for the believers.
Research verse 11:120 →
وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنَّا عَٰمِلُونَ
And say to those who do not trust (in it): “Act according to your position; indeed, we are acting.”
Research verse 11:121 →
وَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ
And wait; indeed, we are ones who wait.
Research verse 11:122 →
وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ ٱلْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُۥ فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
And to God belongs the hidden (unseen) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him the whole affair is returned; so serve/worship Him and rely upon Him, and your Lord is not unmindful of what you do.
Research verse 11:123 →
