Hā, Mīm.
Research verse 42:1 →
عٓسٓقٓ
‘Ayn, Seen, Qaf.
Research verse 42:2 →
كَذَٰلِكَ يُوحِىٓ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
In this manner Allah— the Almighty, the Wise— inspires to you and to those before you.
Research verse 42:3 →
لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Exalted, the Magnificent.
Research verse 42:4 →
تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِن فَوْقِهِنَّ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The heavens almost burst apart from above them, while the angels are glorifying with the praise of their Lord and seeking covering‑forgiveness for whoever is in the earth. Behold, it is Allah—He is the All‑Covering‑Forgiver, the Ever‑Merciful.
Research verse 42:5 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ ٱللَّهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ
And those who have taken, apart from Him, protectors — Allah is a keeper over them, and you are not a trustee over them.
Research verse 42:6 →
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ قُرْءَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَتُنذِرَ يَوْمَ ٱلْجَمْعِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ فَرِيقٌ فِى ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٌ فِى ٱلسَّعِيرِ
And thus We have communicated to you an Arabic Qur’an, so that you may warn the Mother of the Towns and whoever is around it, and that you may warn of the Day of Gathering – there is no doubt about it – [when] a group will be in the Garden and a group in the Blaze.
Research verse 42:7 →
وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَهُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ وَٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ مَا لَهُم مِّن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
And had Allah willed, He would surely have made them one community; but He admits whomever He wills into His mercy, while the wrongdoers have no ally nor any helper.
Research verse 42:8 →
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ فَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلْوَلِىُّ وَهُوَ يُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Or have they taken, apart from Him, guardians? Yet Allah—He is the Guardian, and He gives life to the dead, and He is powerful over every thing.
Research verse 42:9 →
وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِيهِ مِن شَىْءٍ فَحُكْمُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبِّى عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ
And whatever you differ about in anything, then its decision is to Allah. That is Allah, my Lord; upon Him I have placed my trust, and to Him I repeatedly turn back.
Research verse 42:10 →
فَاطِرُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا وَمِنَ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ أَزْوَٰجًا يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِۦ شَىْءٌ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ
Originator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you, from your own selves, pairs, and from the grazing livestock, pairs; He disperses you through it. There is nothing comparable to His likeness, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
Research verse 42:11 →
لَهُۥ مَقَالِيدُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
To Him belong the control-handles of the heavens and the earth; He spreads provision for whom He wills and measures it out. Indeed, He is, of everything, All-Knowing.
Research verse 42:12 →
شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِۦ نُوحًا وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِۦٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا۟ فِيهِ كَبُرَ عَلَى ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ ٱللَّهُ يَجْتَبِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِىٓ إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ
He has opened up for you, from the judgment‑way, what He entrusted to Noah, and what We have inspired to you, and what We entrusted to Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: that you uphold the judgment‑way and do not become divided within it. It has become greatly burdensome upon the joiners‑of‑others‑with‑God, that to which you call them. God selects to Himself whomever He wills, and He guides to Himself whoever repeatedly turns back.
Research verse 42:13 →
وَمَا تَفَرَّقُوٓا۟ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى لَّقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُورِثُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ
And they did not split up except after what had come to them of the knowledge, as transgression among themselves. And were it not for a word that had already gone ahead from your Lord to a specified term, it would indeed have been decided between them. And surely those who were made to inherit the Book after them are, concerning it, in a doubt that causes disturbance.
Research verse 42:14 →
فَلِذَٰلِكَ فَٱدْعُ وَٱسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ أُمِرْتَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَقُلْ ءَامَنتُ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن كِتَٰبٍ وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ لَنَآ أَعْمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
So for that, call, and stand firm as you have been commanded, and do not follow their desires. And say, “I have trusted in what Allah has sent down of any writ, and I have been commanded to act justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. There is no argument between us and you. Allah will gather us together, and to Him is the outcome.”
Research verse 42:15 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ٱسْتُجِيبَ لَهُۥ حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ
And those who dispute concerning Allah after He has been responded to – their case for proof is slipping away with their Lord, and upon them is wrath, and for them is a severe punishment.
Research verse 42:16 →
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٌ
Allah is the One who sent down the written ordinance with the truth, and the balance; and what can make you realize?—perhaps the Hour is near.
Research verse 42:17 →
يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا ٱلْحَقُّ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِى ٱلسَّاعَةِ لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ
Those who do not trust in it seek to hasten it, while those who have trusted are apprehensive of it and know that it is the truth. Indeed, those who wrangle about the Hour are surely in far‑gone misguidance.
Research verse 42:18 →
ٱللَّهُ لَطِيفٌۢ بِعِبَادِهِۦ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَهُوَ ٱلْقَوِىُّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ
Allah is gentle with His servants; He provides sustenance to whom He wills, and He is the Strong, the Mighty.
Research verse 42:19 →
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ نَزِدْ لَهُۥ فِى حَرْثِهِۦ وَمَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ ٱلدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مِن نَّصِيبٍ
Whoever has been wanting the tillage of the Hereafter – We increase for him in his tillage; and whoever has been wanting the tillage of this nearer life, We give him some of it, and he has no share at all in the Hereafter.
Research verse 42:20 →
أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَٰٓؤُا۟ شَرَعُوا۟ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا لَمْ يَأْذَنۢ بِهِ ٱللَّهُ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةُ ٱلْفَصْلِ لَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Or do they have partners who have laid down for them, as part of the judgment‑way, something for which Allah has given no permission? And were it not for the word of decisive separation, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, the darkeners (wrongdoers) will surely have a painful punishment.
Research verse 42:21 →
تَرَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ وَهُوَ وَاقِعٌۢ بِهِمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فِى رَوْضَاتِ ٱلْجَنَّاتِ لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَضْلُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
You see the wrongdoers apprehensive about what they have earned, while it is indeed falling upon them. But those who have believed and done sound deeds are in meadows of the gardens; they will have whatever they wish in the presence of their Lord. That – it is the great favor.
Research verse 42:22 →
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يُبَشِّرُ ٱللَّهُ عِبَادَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ قُل لَّآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا ٱلْمَوَدَّةَ فِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَمَن يَقْتَرِفْ حَسَنَةً نَّزِدْ لَهُۥ فِيهَا حُسْنًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ
That is what Allah gives as glad tidings to His servants who have believed and done the sound deeds. Say, “I do not ask you for it any wage, except affection within kinship.” And whoever acquires a good deed, We increase for him in it (its) goodness. Indeed, Allah is Ever‑Forgiving, Ever‑Appreciative.
Research verse 42:23 →
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا فَإِن يَشَإِ ٱللَّهُ يَخْتِمْ عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ وَيَمْحُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْبَٰطِلَ وَيُحِقُّ ٱلْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
Or do they say, “He has fabricated a lie against Allah”? But if Allah wills, He can seal upon your heart; and Allah effaces the falsehood and makes the truth firmly real by His words. Indeed, He is Knowing of what is within the chests.
Research verse 42:24 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يَقْبَلُ ٱلتَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَعْفُوا۟ عَنِ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
And He is the One who receives the turning-back from His servants and overlooks the misdeeds, and He knows whatever you do.
Research verse 42:25 →
وَيَسْتَجِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَيَزِيدُهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦ وَٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ
And He responds to those who have believed and done the sound deeds, and He increases them from His bounty; while those who cover [the truth]—for them is a severe punishment.
Research verse 42:26 →
وَلَوْ بَسَطَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ لَبَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍ مَّا يَشَآءُ إِنَّهُۥ بِعِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرٌۢ بَصِيرٌ
And if Allah were to spread out the provision for His servants, they would indeed act unjustly on the earth; but He sends it down in a measured way as He wills. Indeed, He is, regarding His servants, All‑Aware, All‑Seeing.
Research verse 42:27 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُنَزِّلُ ٱلْغَيْثَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا قَنَطُوا۟ وَيَنشُرُ رَحْمَتَهُۥ وَهُوَ ٱلْوَلِىُّ ٱلْحَمِيدُ
And He is the One who sends down the rain after they had despaired and unfolds His mercy, and He is the Patron, the Praiseworthy.
Research verse 42:28 →
وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ خَلْقُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَثَّ فِيهِمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ جَمْعِهِمْ إِذَا يَشَآءُ قَدِيرٌ
And among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and what He has spread throughout them of creeping creatures; and He is, over gathering them whenever He wills, fully capable.
Research verse 42:29 →
وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُوا۟ عَن كَثِيرٍ
And whatever affliction reaches you is then because of what your own hands have earned, while He overlooks much.
Research verse 42:30 →
وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
And you are not ones to frustrate [Him] on the earth, and you have, apart from Allah, no ally and no helper.
Research verse 42:31 →
وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِ ٱلْجَوَارِ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَٰمِ
And among His signs are the moving ones in the sea, like prominent landmarks.
Research verse 42:32 →
إِن يَشَأْ يُسْكِنِ ٱلرِّيحَ فَيَظْلَلْنَ رَوَاكِدَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ
If He wills, He can make the wind still, and then they would remain there, motionless, upon its surface. Indeed, in that are signs for every one who is intensely enduring and deeply grateful.
Research verse 42:33 →
أَوْ يُوبِقْهُنَّ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَيَعْفُ عَن كَثِيرٍ
Or He could wreck them for what they have earned, yet He overlooks much.
Research verse 42:34 →
وَيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍ
and so that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that they have no way of escape.
Research verse 42:35 →
فَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَىْءٍ فَمَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
So whatever you have been given of anything is [but] a utility of the lowly life; while what is with God is better and more enduring—for those who have attained faith and upon their Lord place their trust.
Research verse 42:36 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا۟ هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَ
And those who keep away from the great (grave) of sin and the indecencies, and when they become angry, they pardon.
Research verse 42:37 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
And those who respond to their Lord, and uphold the prayer, and whose affair is consultation among them, and from what We have provided them they spend.
Research verse 42:38 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْبَغْىُ هُمْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
And those who, when aggression reaches them, they secure help for themselves.
Research verse 42:39 →
وَجَزَٰٓؤُا۟ سَيِّئَةٍ سَيِّئَةٌ مِّثْلُهَا فَمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And the recompense of a bad deed is a bad deed like it; but whoever pardons and makes things right, then his reward is upon God. Indeed, He does not love the wrongdoers.
Research verse 42:40 →
وَلَمَنِ ٱنتَصَرَ بَعْدَ ظُلْمِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَا عَلَيْهِم مِّن سَبِيلٍ
And whoever defends himself after his being wronged – then such as these, there is no way against them.
Research verse 42:41 →
إِنَّمَا ٱلسَّبِيلُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَظْلِمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَيَبْغُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
The way (of [blame]) is only against those who darken (wrong) the people and seek in the land without the truth; those—for them is a painful punishment.
Research verse 42:42 →
وَلَمَن صَبَرَ وَغَفَرَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ
And whoever endures and covers over (the offense), indeed that is surely among the firmly‑resolved matters.
Research verse 42:43 →
وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن وَلِىٍّ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَتَرَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ يَقُولُونَ هَلْ إِلَىٰ مَرَدٍّ مِّن سَبِيلٍ
And whomever Allah lets go astray, then he has no ally after Him. And you will see the wrongdoers, when they have seen the punishment, saying, “Is there any way to a return?”
Research verse 42:44 →
وَتَرَىٰهُمْ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا خَٰشِعِينَ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ يَنظُرُونَ مِن طَرْفٍ خَفِىٍّ وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ فِى عَذَابٍ مُّقِيمٍ
And you see them being presented to it, humbled from lowliness, looking on from a furtive glance. And those who have believed say, “Indeed, the losers are those who have lost themselves and their families on the Day of Standing. Behold, indeed the darkeners (wrongdoers) are in a lasting torment.”
Research verse 42:45 →
وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ يَنصُرُونَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن سَبِيلٍ
And they have never had any allies to help them apart from Allah; and whomever Allah lets sink astray, then he has no way.
Research verse 42:46 →
ٱسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِرَبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَكُم مِّن مَّلْجَإٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّكِيرٍ
Respond to your Lord before a Day comes, for which there is no sending back from Allah. You will have no refuge on that Day, and you will have no disowning (of it).
Research verse 42:47 →
فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا۟ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا إِنْ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَإِنَّآ إِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً فَرِحَ بِهَا وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَإِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ كَفُورٌ
So if they turn away, then We have not sent you over them as a keeper; upon you there is nothing except the conveying. And when We make the human taste mercy from Us, he rejoices in it; but if a bad thing strikes them because of what their hands have sent ahead, then indeed the human is intensely ungrateful.
Research verse 42:48 →
لِّلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ إِنَٰثًا وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ٱلذُّكُورَ
To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates whatever He wills. He grants females to whom He wills, and He grants males to whom He wills.
Research verse 42:49 →
أَوْ يُزَوِّجُهُمْ ذُكْرَانًا وَإِنَٰثًا وَيَجْعَلُ مَن يَشَآءُ عَقِيمًا إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ
Or He pairs them as males and females, and He makes whomever He wills barren. Indeed, He is All‑Knowing, All‑Able.
Research verse 42:50 →
وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحْيًا أَوْ مِن وَرَآئِ حِجَابٍ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ رَسُولًا فَيُوحِىَ بِإِذْنِهِۦ مَا يَشَآءُ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِىٌّ حَكِيمٌ
And it has not been for any human that Allah should speak to him except [1] by inspiration, or [2] from behind a screen, or [3] that He sends a messenger, then he inspires, by His permission, whatever He wills. Indeed, He is exalted, wise.
Research verse 42:51 →
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِى مَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ وَلَا ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُورًا نَّهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
And thus We have inspired to you a spirit from Our command. You were not knowing what the Book is, nor the faith; but We have made it a light by which We guide, with it, whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, you surely guide to a straight path.
Research verse 42:52 →
صِرَٰطِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَلَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَصِيرُ ٱلْأُمُورُ
The path of Allah, the One to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Behold! To Allah all affairs return.
