يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ ٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
O prophet, be wary of Allah, and do not obey the concealers (of truth) and the hypocrites; indeed, Allah has always been all-knowing, all-wise.
Research verse 33:1 →
وَٱتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا
And follow what is being communicated to you from your Lord; indeed Allah has always been fully aware of what you do.
Research verse 33:2 →
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا
And place your trust in Allah, and sufficient is Allah as an entrusted manager (of affairs).
Research verse 33:3 →
مَّا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِرَجُلٍ مِّن قَلْبَيْنِ فِى جَوْفِهِۦ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَزْوَٰجَكُمُ ٱلَّٰٓـِٔى تُظَٰهِرُونَ مِنْهُنَّ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَدْعِيَآءَكُمْ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ ذَٰلِكُمْ قَوْلُكُم بِأَفْوَٰهِكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ يَقُولُ ٱلْحَقَّ وَهُوَ يَهْدِى ٱلسَّبِيلَ
Allah has not made for any man two hearts within his inside; and He has not made your pairs, those of them with whom you “back-compare” (them) from among them, (to be) your mothers; and He has not made those you call (to yourselves) as sons (to be) your sons. That is your saying with your mouths, while Allah speaks the truth, and He guides the path.
Research verse 33:4 →
ٱدْعُوهُمْ لِـَٔابَآئِهِمْ هُوَ أَقْسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِن لَّمْ تَعْلَمُوٓا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَمَوَٰلِيكُمْ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَآ أَخْطَأْتُم بِهِۦ وَلَٰكِن مَّا تَعَمَّدَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
Call them to their fathers; that is more just in the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in the system of faith and those under your care. And there is no burden upon you regarding what you erred in thereby, but (there is) in what your hearts deliberately intended. And Allah has always been All‑covering‑in‑forgiveness, Ever‑merciful.
Research verse 33:5 →
ٱلنَّبِىُّ أَوْلَىٰ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُۥٓ أُمَّهَٰتُهُمْ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِبَعْضٍ فِى كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ إِلَّآ أَن تَفْعَلُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَوْلِيَآئِكُم مَّعْرُوفًا كَانَ ذَٰلِكَ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَسْطُورًا
The prophet is more entitled to the believers than their own selves, and his spouses are their mothers. And possessors of womb‑relations, some of them are more entitled to others, in Allah’s decree, than the believers and the emigrants—except that you do a recognized good toward your allies. That has been in the Book inscribed.
Research verse 33:6 →
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِيثَٰقَهُمْ وَمِنكَ وَمِن نُّوحٍ وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَى ٱبْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظًا
And when We took from the prophets their binding pledge, and from you, and from Noah, and Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus son of Mary; and We took from them a weighty binding pledge.
Research verse 33:7 →
لِّيَسْـَٔلَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ عَن صِدْقِهِمْ وَأَعَدَّ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
so that He may ask the truthful about their truthfulness, and He has prepared for the concealers (of the truth) a painful punishment.
Research verse 33:8 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَآءَتْكُمْ جُنُودٌ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا وَجُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرًا
O you who have attained faith, recall Allah’s pleasant favor upon you when forces came at you, then We sent against them a wind and forces you did not see; and Allah has always been Seeing of what you do.
Research verse 33:9 →
إِذْ جَآءُوكُم مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْ وَإِذْ زَاغَتِ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ وَبَلَغَتِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٱلْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلظُّنُونَا۠
When they came at you from above you and from below you, and when the sights swerved and the hearts reached the throats, and you were thinking about God [all kinds of] thoughts.
Research verse 33:10 →
هُنَالِكَ ٱبْتُلِىَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَزُلْزِلُوا۟ زِلْزَالًا شَدِيدًا
Thereupon the believers were put to a test, and they were shaken with a most intense shaking.
Research verse 33:11 →
وَإِذْ يَقُولُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ مَّا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ إِلَّا غُرُورًا
And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a sickness were saying, “Allah and His messenger have not promised us anything but delusion.”
Research verse 33:12 →
وَإِذْ قَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَٱرْجِعُوا۟ وَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلنَّبِىَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوْرَةٌ وَمَا هِىَ بِعَوْرَةٍ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارًا
And when a group among them said, “O people of Yathrib, there is no staying-place for you, so turn back.” And a faction of them asks the Prophet for leave, saying, “Indeed, our houses are exposed (vulnerable).” Yet they are not exposed; they desire nothing but escape.
Research verse 33:13 →
وَلَوْ دُخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَقْطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُئِلُوا۟ ٱلْفِتْنَةَ لَـَٔاتَوْهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُوا۟ بِهَآ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا
And if it were entered upon them from its extremities, then they were asked for the trial, they would indeed come to it, and they would not linger over it except a little.
Research verse 33:14 →
وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ ٱللَّهِ مَسْـُٔولًا
And they had indeed pledged to Allah before that they would not turn their backs, and the pledge to Allah is something to be asked about.
Research verse 33:15 →
قُل لَّن يَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلْفِرَارُ إِن فَرَرْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ أَوِ ٱلْقَتْلِ وَإِذًا لَّا تُمَتَّعُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
Say, “Fleeing will never benefit you, if you flee from death or killing; and then you would not be granted enjoyment except for a little.”
Research verse 33:16 →
قُلْ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَعْصِمُكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوٓءًا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا
Say, “Who is it that will shield you from Allah if He intends harm for you, or intends mercy for you?” And they will not find for themselves, apart from Allah, any ally nor any helper.
Research verse 33:17 →
قَدْ يَعْلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَ مِنكُمْ وَٱلْقَآئِلِينَ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ هَلُمَّ إِلَيْنَا وَلَا يَأْتُونَ ٱلْبَأْسَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
Allah indeed knows those who impede among you, and those who say to their brothers, “Come on to us,” while they do not come to the fighting except a little.
Research verse 33:18 →
أَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْ فَإِذَا جَآءَ ٱلْخَوْفُ رَأَيْتَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ تَدُورُ أَعْيُنُهُمْ كَٱلَّذِى يُغْشَىٰ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ ٱلْخَوْفُ سَلَقُوكُم بِأَلْسِنَةٍ حِدَادٍ أَشِحَّةً عَلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَأَحْبَطَ ٱللَّهُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًا
Grudging toward you; then when the fear comes, you see them looking toward you, their eyes turning about like one who is covered over by death. But when the fear has gone, they assail you with tongues that are sharp, being grudging over the good. Those are the ones who have not believed, so Allah has nullified their deeds, and that has been easy for Allah.
Research verse 33:19 →
يَحْسَبُونَ ٱلْأَحْزَابَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا۟ وَإِن يَأْتِ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّهُم بَادُونَ فِى ٱلْأَعْرَابِ يَسْـَٔلُونَ عَنْ أَنۢبَآئِكُمْ وَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ فِيكُم مَّا قَٰتَلُوٓا۟ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
They reckon the confederates have not gone away; and if the confederates should come, they would wish that they were out in the open desert among the desert‑dwellers, asking about your reports. And if they were among you, they would not fight except a little.
Research verse 33:20 →
لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِى رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَ وَذَكَرَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا
There has indeed been for you, in the Messenger of Allah, a fine model for whoever has been hoping for Allah and the Last Day and has remembered Allah abundantly.
Research verse 33:21 →
وَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْأَحْزَابَ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَصَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَمَا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّآ إِيمَٰنًا وَتَسْلِيمًا
And when the believers saw the companies, they said, “This is what Allah and His messenger promised us, and Allah and His messenger have been truthful.” And it did not increase them in anything but conviction and yielding.
Research verse 33:22 →
مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا۟ مَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُۥ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا۟ تَبْدِيلًا
Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah. So among them is one who has completed his due-pledge, and among them is one who is waiting; and they have not changed [it] in any changing.
Research verse 33:23 →
لِّيَجْزِىَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِن شَآءَ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
So that Allah may recompense the truthful for their truthfulness, and punish the hypocrites if He wills, or turn back toward them (in acceptance of repentance). Indeed, Allah has always been All-Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.
Research verse 33:24 →
وَرَدَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنَالُوا۟ خَيْرًا وَكَفَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱلْقِتَالَ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزًا
And Allah turned back those who covered up [the truth], in their fury, having not attained any good; and Allah sufficed the believers regarding the fighting, and Allah has always been Strong, Mighty.
Research verse 33:25 →
وَأَنزَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَٰهَرُوهُم مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِن صَيَاصِيهِمْ وَقَذَفَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعْبَ فَرِيقًا تَقْتُلُونَ وَتَأْسِرُونَ فَرِيقًا
And He brought down those who backed them from among the People of the Book from their strongholds, and He hurled dread into their hearts: a group you were killing, and a group you were taking captive.
Research verse 33:26 →
وَأَوْرَثَكُمْ أَرْضَهُمْ وَدِيَٰرَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَأَرْضًا لَّمْ تَطَـُٔوهَا وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرًا
And He caused you to inherit their land, their dwellings, and their wealth, and a land which you had not set foot upon; and Allah has always been Powerful over every thing.
Research verse 33:27 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَ إِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ أُمَتِّعْكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا
O Prophet, say to your spouses: “If you are seeking the nearer life and its adornment, then come, I will grant you enjoyment and I will release you with a gracious release.”
Research verse 33:28 →
وَإِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْمُحْسِنَٰتِ مِنكُنَّ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
But if you are wanting Allah and His messenger and the final abode, then indeed Allah has made ready, for those of you who excel in doing good, a tremendous reward.
Research verse 33:29 →
يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ مَن يَأْتِ مِنكُنَّ بِفَٰحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ يُضَٰعَفْ لَهَا ٱلْعَذَابُ ضِعْفَيْنِ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًا
O wives of the Prophet, whoever among you comes with a manifest indecency, the punishment will be multiplied for her twofold; and that has always been easy for Allah.
Research verse 33:30 →
وَمَن يَقْنُتْ مِنكُنَّ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًا نُّؤْتِهَآ أَجْرَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهَا رِزْقًا كَرِيمًا
And whoever among you remains devoutly obedient to Allah and His Messenger and does a sound deed, We shall give her her reward twice over, and We have made ready for her a generous provision.
Research verse 33:31 →
يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِنِ ٱتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِٱلْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ ٱلَّذِى فِى قَلْبِهِۦ مَرَضٌ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا
O wives of the prophet, you are not like any of the women: if you are ever‑conscious (of God), then do not be yielding in speech so that he whose heart has a sickness should aspire, but speak a speech that is recognized (as proper).
Research verse 33:32 →
وَقَرْنَ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَأَقِمْنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِعْنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا
And settle in your houses, and do not flaunt yourselves with the flaunting of the former Age of Ignorance; and uphold the prayer, and give the zakah, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah only intends to drive away from you the defilement, O people of the household, and to purify you with a thorough purification.
Research verse 33:33 →
وَٱذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلَىٰ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْحِكْمَةِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ لَطِيفًا خَبِيرًا
And remember what is recited in your houses of the signs of Allah and the wisdom. Indeed, Allah has always been subtle and fully aware.
Research verse 33:34 →
إِنَّ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَٱلْمُسْلِمَٰتِ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰبِرَٰتِ وَٱلْخَٰشِعِينَ وَٱلْخَٰشِعَٰتِ وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰٓئِمِينَ وَٱلصَّٰٓئِمَٰتِ وَٱلْحَٰفِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَٱلْحَٰفِظَٰتِ وَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِ أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
Indeed, the submitting men and the submitting women, and the trusting men and the trusting women, and the devoutly-compliant men and the devoutly-compliant women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the enduring men and the enduring women, and the humbled men and the humbled women, and the giving men and the giving women, and the abstaining men and the abstaining women, and the men who guard their openings and the women [who do so], and the men who remember Allah abundantly and the women [who do so]—Allah has prepared for them a covering-over and a tremendous recompense.
Research verse 33:35 →
وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ أَمْرًا أَن يَكُونَ لَهُمُ ٱلْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًا مُّبِينًا
And it has not been [possible] for any believing man nor any believing woman, when Allah and His messenger have decided a matter, that there should be for them the choosing regarding their affair; and whoever defies Allah and His messenger has certainly strayed with an evident straying.
Research verse 33:36 →
وَإِذْ تَقُولُ لِلَّذِىٓ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ وَتُخْفِى فِى نَفْسِكَ مَا ٱللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ وَٱللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَىٰهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ زَيْدٌ مِّنْهَا وَطَرًا زَوَّجْنَٰكَهَا لِكَىْ لَا يَكُونَ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَرَجٌ فِىٓ أَزْوَٰجِ أَدْعِيَآئِهِمْ إِذَا قَضَوْا۟ مِنْهُنَّ وَطَرًا وَكَانَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ مَفْعُولًا
And [remember] when you were saying to the one upon whom Allah had bestowed ease, and you had bestowed ease upon him, “Hold fast to your spouse and be wary of Allah,” while you were concealing within yourself what Allah is one who will bring into the open, and you were in awe of the people, whereas Allah has more right that you be in awe of Him. So when Zayd had concluded from her his wanted aim, We paired you with her, so that there would not be any constraint upon the believers regarding the spouses of those they call [to themselves as] sons, when they have concluded from them their wanted aim; and the command of Allah has always been something carried out.
Research verse 33:37 →
مَّا كَانَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ مِنْ حَرَجٍ فِيمَا فَرَضَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ سُنَّةَ ٱللَّهِ فِى ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ قَدَرًا مَّقْدُورًا
There has never been upon the prophet any constraint regarding what Allah has allotted for him — Allah’s way with those who passed on before — and Allah’s command has always been a measured decree.
Research verse 33:38 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَلِّغُونَ رِسَٰلَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَخْشَوْنَهُۥ وَلَا يَخْشَوْنَ أَحَدًا إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبًا
Those who convey the messages of Allah, and they are apprehensive of Him and are not apprehensive of anyone except Allah—and Allah suffices as a Reckoner.
Research verse 33:39 →
مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًا
Muhammad has never been the father of any one of your men, but rather [he is] the messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets; and Allah has always been, of every thing, all‑knowing.
Research verse 33:40 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا
O you who have attained faith, remember Allah with abundant remembrance.
Research verse 33:41 →
وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
And glorify Him morning and late in the day.
Research verse 33:42 →
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَلِّى عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتُهُۥ لِيُخْرِجَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ وَكَانَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَحِيمًا
He is the One who turns with devoted attention toward you, and His angels [do so], in order to bring you out from the darknesses into the light; and He has always been compassionate towards the believers.
Research verse 33:43 →
تَحِيَّتُهُمْ يَوْمَ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ سَلَٰمٌ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا كَرِيمًا
Their greeting on the Day they meet Him will be “Peace,” and He has prepared for them a generous reward.
Research verse 33:44 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ شَٰهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا
O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness, and as a bringer of good tidings, and as a warner.
Research verse 33:45 →
وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا
and as one who calls toward Allah by His leave, and as a shining lamp.
Research verse 33:46 →
وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ فَضْلًا كَبِيرًا
And give good news to the believers that they have, from Allah, a great favor.
Research verse 33:47 →
وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَدَعْ أَذَىٰهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا
And do not obey the concealers (of truth) and the hypocrites; and leave off their harm, and rely upon Allah, and Allah suffices as an entrusted manager.
Research verse 33:48 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا نَكَحْتُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ فَمَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ عِدَّةٍ تَعْتَدُّونَهَا فَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ وَسَرِّحُوهُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا
O you who have believed, when you contract marriage with the believing women, then divorce them before you touch them, then you have no waiting term upon them that you should count. So grant them enjoyment and release them with a gracious release.
Research verse 33:49 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِنَّآ أَحْلَلْنَا لَكَ أَزْوَٰجَكَ ٱلَّٰتِىٓ ءَاتَيْتَ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ مِمَّآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمَّٰتِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَٰلَٰتِكَ ٱلَّٰتِى هَاجَرْنَ مَعَكَ وَٱمْرَأَةً مُّؤْمِنَةً إِن وَهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلنَّبِىِّ إِنْ أَرَادَ ٱلنَّبِىُّ أَن يَسْتَنكِحَهَا خَالِصَةً لَّكَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا فَرَضْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِىٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ لِكَيْلَا يَكُونَ عَلَيْكَ حَرَجٌ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful for you: your spouses to whom you have given their compensations; and what your right hand has possessed from what Allah has caused to return to you; and the daughters of your paternal uncles, and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles, and the daughters of your maternal aunts who migrated along with you; and any believing woman, if she has granted her own self to the Prophet, if the Prophet intends to seek marriage with her — exclusively for you, apart from the believers. We have already known what We have prescribed for them regarding their spouses and what their right hands possess, so that there may not be any constraint upon you. And Allah has always been Forgiving, Merciful.
Research verse 33:50 →
تُرْجِى مَن تَشَآءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُـْٔوِىٓ إِلَيْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكَ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن تَقَرَّ أَعْيُنُهُنَّ وَلَا يَحْزَنَّ وَيَرْضَيْنَ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْتَهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَلِيمًا
You may defer whomever of them you will, and you may draw to yourself whomever you will; and whoever you sought from among those you had set apart, then there is no burden upon you. That is nearer to their eyes becoming settled, and that they not grieve, and that they be content with what you have given them, all of them. And Allah knows what is within your hearts, and Allah has always been All‑Knowing, Forbearing.
Research verse 33:51 →
لَّا يَحِلُّ لَكَ ٱلنِّسَآءُ مِنۢ بَعْدُ وَلَآ أَن تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَٰجٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ رَّقِيبًا
It is not permitted to you, after this, [to take] women, nor that you exchange them for [other] spouses, even if their goodliness were to impress you—except what your right hand controls. And Allah has always been an Observer over every thing.
Research verse 33:52 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَدْخُلُوا۟ بُيُوتَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَٰظِرِينَ إِنَىٰهُ وَلَٰكِنْ إِذَا دُعِيتُمْ فَٱدْخُلُوا۟ فَإِذَا طَعِمْتُمْ فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟ وَلَا مُسْتَـْٔنِسِينَ لِحَدِيثٍ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكُمْ كَانَ يُؤْذِى ٱلنَّبِىَّ فَيَسْتَحْىِۦ مِنكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَسْتَحْىِۦ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَٰعًا فَسْـَٔلُوهُنَّ مِن وَرَآءِ حِجَابٍ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمْ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ وَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَن تُؤْذُوا۟ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَن تَنكِحُوٓا۟ أَزْوَٰجَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ أَبَدًا إِنَّ ذَٰلِكُمْ كَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَظِيمًا
O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for food, not as ones waiting for its time [of readiness]. But when you are invited, then enter; and when you have eaten, then disperse, and do not [remain] seeking sociable enjoyment for conversation. Indeed, that used to harm the Prophet, and he feels restrained before you, while Allah does not feel restrained from the truth. And when you ask them [i.e., his wives] for any article of use, then ask them from behind a screen; that is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it has not been for you to harm the Messenger of Allah, nor to marry his wives after him ever; indeed, that has been, with Allah, tremendous.
Research verse 33:53 →
إِن تُبْدُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًا
If you bring anything into the open or conceal it, then indeed Allah has always been All‑Knowing of every thing.
Research verse 33:54 →
لَّا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِنَّ فِىٓ ءَابَآئِهِنَّ وَلَآ أَبْنَآئِهِنَّ وَلَآ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ وَلَآ أَبْنَآءِ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ وَلَآ أَبْنَآءِ أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ وَلَا نِسَآئِهِنَّ وَلَا مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُنَّ وَٱتَّقِينَ ٱللَّهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدًا
There is no burden (of restriction) upon them regarding their fathers, nor their sons, nor their brothers, nor the sons of their brothers, nor the sons of their sisters, nor their women, nor what their right hands possess. And be conscious of Allah; indeed, Allah has always been, over every thing, a Witness.
Research verse 33:55 →
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا
Indeed, Allah and His angels *yuṣallūna* upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, devote ṣalāh upon him and grant [him] full salām.
Research verse 33:56 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ لَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا
Indeed, those who cause harm to Allah and His messenger – Allah has banished them from His mercy in this world and the Hereafter, and He has prepared for them a degrading punishment.
Research verse 33:57 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ بِغَيْرِ مَا ٱكْتَسَبُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱحْتَمَلُوا۟ بُهْتَٰنًا وَإِثْمًا مُّبِينًا
And those who cause harm to the believing men and the believing women without [it being] for what they have earned have indeed carried a calumny and a clear sin.
Research verse 33:58 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَآءِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِن جَلَٰبِيبِهِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يُعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
O Prophet, say to your wives, and your daughters, and the women of the believers, that they should draw close over themselves from their outer coverings. That is nearer to their being recognized, so they will not be harmed. And Allah has always been All‑Covering‑in‑forgiveness, Ever‑Merciful.
Research verse 33:59 →
لَّئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَٱلْمُرْجِفُونَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَ بِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِيهَآ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a sickness, and the agitators in the city do not stop, We will certainly set you against them; then they will not dwell near you in it except for a little while.
Research verse 33:60 →
مَّلْعُونِينَ أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوٓا۟ أُخِذُوا۟ وَقُتِّلُوا۟ تَقْتِيلًا
Cursed—wherever they are encountered, they will be seized and killed with thorough killing.
Research verse 33:61 →
سُنَّةَ ٱللَّهِ فِى ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًا
[It is] the way-pattern of Allah among those who passed away before, and you will never find, for the way-pattern of Allah, any replacement.
Research verse 33:62 →
يَسْـَٔلُكَ ٱلنَّاسُ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِيبًا
People ask you about the Hour. Say, “Its knowledge is only with Allah. And what can make you realize? Perhaps the Hour may be near.”
Research verse 33:63 →
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ سَعِيرًا
Indeed, Allah has banished the concealers (of truth) and prepared for them a raging blaze.
Research verse 33:64 →
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا لَّا يَجِدُونَ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا
Remaining therein forever; they will not find any ally nor any helper.
Research verse 33:65 →
يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِى ٱلنَّارِ يَقُولُونَ يَٰلَيْتَنَآ أَطَعْنَا ٱللَّهَ وَأَطَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَا۠
The Day their faces are turned about in the Fire, they will say, “If only we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger.”
Research verse 33:66 →
وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّآ أَطَعْنَا سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَآءَنَا فَأَضَلُّونَا ٱلسَّبِيلَا۠
And they will say, “Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, so they led us astray from the path.”
Research verse 33:67 →
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِهِمْ ضِعْفَيْنِ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَٱلْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًا كَبِيرًا
Our Lord, give them a double share of the punishment, and banish them from Your mercy with a tremendous banishment.
Research verse 33:68 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاذَوْا۟ مُوسَىٰ فَبَرَّأَهُ ٱللَّهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا۟ وَكَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَجِيهًا
O you who have attained faith, do not be like those who caused harm to Moses, so Allah cleared him of what they said, and he was, with Allah, one of high standing.
Research verse 33:69 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَقُولُوا۟ قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا
O you who have believed, be wary of Allah, and speak a speech that is straight.
Research verse 33:70 →
يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا
He will set right for you your deeds and will cover for you your sins; and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has indeed succeeded with a tremendous success.
Research verse 33:71 →
إِنَّا عَرَضْنَا ٱلْأَمَانَةَ عَلَى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلْجِبَالِ فَأَبَيْنَ أَن يَحْمِلْنَهَا وَأَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا وَحَمَلَهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا
Indeed, We presented the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to carry it and were apprehensive of it; yet the human being carried it. Indeed, he has been (one) exceedingly unjust, exceedingly ignorant.
Research verse 33:72 →
لِّيُعَذِّبَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَٱلْمُشْرِكَٰتِ وَيَتُوبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًۢا
so that Allah may requite the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women, and the men who join (others) and the women who join (others, with Him), and so that Allah may turn back (in mercy) towards the believing men and the believing women. And Allah has always been All-Covering (of faults), Ever-Merciful.
Research verse 33:73 →
