أَتَىٰٓ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Allah’s matter has come, so do not seek to hasten it. Glory be to Him, and He is exalted above what they join (with Him).
Research verse 16:1 →
يُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ بِٱلرُّوحِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱتَّقُونِ
He sends down the angels with the spirit from His command upon whom He wills of His servants: “Warn that there is no god except Me; so be wary of Me.”
Research verse 16:2 →
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ تَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
He created the heavens and the earth with the truth; exalted is He above what they join [with Him].
Research verse 16:3 →
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ
He created the human being from a drop, then suddenly he is a clear disputant.
Research verse 16:4 →
وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمَ خَلَقَهَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا دِفْءٌ وَمَنَٰفِعُ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
And the livestock—He created them for you; in them there is warmth and [other] benefits, and from them you eat.
Research verse 16:5 →
وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسْرَحُونَ
And for you in them is beauty, at the time when you give them rest and at the time when you let them roam.
Research verse 16:6 →
وَتَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍ لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ بَٰلِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ ٱلْأَنفُسِ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ
And it carries your burdens to a land you would not have been ones to reach except with the tearing of (your) selves. Indeed, your Lord is surely Most-Gentle, Ever-Merciful.
Research verse 16:7 →
وَٱلْخَيْلَ وَٱلْبِغَالَ وَٱلْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةً وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
And the horses, the mules, and the donkeys: for you to ride them and as an adornment; and He creates what you do not know.
Research verse 16:8 →
وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ قَصْدُ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَآئِرٌ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَهَدَىٰكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
And upon Allah is the straightness of the path, and among them is one that deviates. And if He had willed, He would surely have guided you all.
Research verse 16:9 →
هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً لَّكُم مِّنْهُ شَرَابٌ وَمِنْهُ شَجَرٌ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ
He is the One who sent down water from the sky for you; from it is a drink, and from it is vegetation in which you pasture (your livestock).
Research verse 16:10 →
يُنۢبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ ٱلزَّرْعَ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلنَّخِيلَ وَٱلْأَعْنَٰبَ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
He brings forth for you by it the crop, and the olive, and the date‑palms, and the grapevines, and from every kind of fruits. Indeed, in that is a sign for a people who reflect.
Research verse 16:11 →
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتٌۢ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
And He has subjected for you the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by His command. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who use their reason.
Research verse 16:12 →
وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهُۥٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
And whatever He has brought into being for you on the earth, differing in its kinds, indeed in that is a sign for a people who recollect.
Research verse 16:13 →
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُوا۟ مِنْهُ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا۟ مِنْهُ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى ٱلْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
And He is the One who has subjected the sea, so that you may eat from it fresh meat, and that you may bring out from it an ornament which you wear; and you see the ships cleaving through it, and (He subjected it) so that you may seek of His bounty, and so that you might show gratitude.
Research verse 16:14 →
وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَٰرًا وَسُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
And He cast into the earth firm anchors so that it would not sway with you, and [He made] rivers and pathways, so that you might be guided.
Research verse 16:15 →
وَعَلَٰمَٰتٍ وَبِٱلنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
And landmarks, and by the star they are guided.
Research verse 16:16 →
أَفَمَن يَخْلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخْلُقُ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Is then the One who creates like one who does not create? Will you not remember?
Research verse 16:17 →
وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
And if you try to count Allah’s favor, you will not encompass it; indeed, Allah is surely All-Covering in forgiveness, ever-merciful.
Research verse 16:18 →
وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ
And Allah knows what you keep hidden and what you make public.
Research verse 16:19 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ
And those whom they call upon apart from Allah do not create anything, while they themselves are created.
Research verse 16:20 →
أَمْوَٰتٌ غَيْرُ أَحْيَآءٍ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ
Dead—without life—and they are not aware of when they will be raised.
Research verse 16:21 →
إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٌ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ
Your god is one God. So those who do not trust in the Later [life]—their hearts are denying, and they are self-exalting.
Research verse 16:22 →
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ
There is no escaping that Allah knows what they keep hidden and what they make public; indeed, He does not love those who act as the arrogant.
Research verse 16:23 →
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
And when it is said to them, “What has your Lord sent down?” they say, “Written tales of the former ones.”
Research verse 16:24 →
لِيَحْمِلُوٓا۟ أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةً يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ
so that they will carry their burdens, complete, on the Day of Standing, and (also) from the burdens of those whom they cause to sink astray without knowledge. Oh, how vile is what they are bearing.
Research verse 16:25 →
قَدْ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنْيَٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّقْفُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Those before them certainly devised (plots), so Allah came at their structure from the foundations, and the roof collapsed upon them from above them, and the punishment came upon them from where they were not aware.
Research verse 16:26 →
ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تُشَٰٓقُّونَ فِيهِمْ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ إِنَّ ٱلْخِزْىَ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Then, on the Day of Standing, He will disgrace them and say, “Where are My associates, those for whose sake you used to be in opposition?” Those who were given the knowledge will say, “Indeed, the disgrace today, and the evil, are upon the deniers.”
Research verse 16:27 →
ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ فَأَلْقَوُا۟ ٱلسَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِن سُوٓءٍۭ بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Those whom the angels take fully (in death) while they are wronging their own selves, then they throw down surrender: “We were not doing any evil.” Yes indeed! Allah is All‑Knowing of what you used to do.
Research verse 16:28 →
فَٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
So enter the gates of Hell, remaining therein; how vile a lodging for the self-exalting.
Research verse 16:29 →
وَقِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ مَاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُوا۟ خَيْرًا لِّلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌ وَلَدَارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ وَلَنِعْمَ دَارُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
And it is said to those who are mindful (of God), “What has your Lord sent down?” They say, “Good.” For those who excel in doing good, there is a good [reward] in this present world, and the abode of the Hereafter is better—and how excellent is the abode of the mindful.
Research verse 16:30 →
جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ كَذَٰلِكَ يَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
Gardens of lasting settlement which they will enter; rivers flow beneath them. They will have in them whatever they wish. Thus does Allah recompense those who are mindful (of Him).
Research verse 16:31 →
ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ يَقُولُونَ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Those whom the angels take in full (at death), as good and wholesome, saying, “Peace be upon you; enter the Garden for what you used to do.”
Research verse 16:32 →
هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
Are they waiting for anything except that the angels should come to them, or that the command of your Lord should come? Just like that did those before them do. And Allah did not wrong them, but they had been wronging themselves.
Research verse 16:33 →
فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
So the bad outcomes of what they did struck them, and there encompassed them what they had been mocking.
Research verse 16:34 →
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ نَّحْنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَهَلْ عَلَى ٱلرُّسُلِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
And those who joined [others] say, “If Allah had willed, we would not have served anything apart from Him—neither we nor our fathers—nor would we have declared anything forbidden apart from Him.” Thus did those before them do. So is there upon the messengers anything except the clear conveying?
Research verse 16:35 →
وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّٰغُوتَ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
And indeed We have raised up, within every community, a messenger: “Serve God and keep away from the overstepping tyrants.” Then among them were those whom God guided, and among them were those upon whom misguidance became binding. So travel through the earth and observe how was the outcome of the deniers.
Research verse 16:36 →
إِن تَحْرِصْ عَلَىٰ هُدَىٰهُمْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَن يُضِلُّ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
Even if you are keen for their guidance, then indeed Allah does not guide whoever lets go astray, and they have no helpers.
Research verse 16:37 →
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ لَا يَبْعَثُ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَمُوتُ بَلَىٰ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
And they swore by Allah, to the utmost of their oaths, that Allah will not raise up whoever dies. Yes indeed — a promise upon Him, in truth — but most of the people do not know.
Research verse 16:38 →
لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَٰذِبِينَ
so that He may make clear to them that in which they differ, and so that those who have covered [the truth] may know that they had been liars.
Research verse 16:39 →
إِنَّمَا قَوْلُنَا لِشَىْءٍ إِذَآ أَرَدْنَٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
Our saying to a thing, when We intend it, is only that We say to it, “Be,” and it comes to be.
Research verse 16:40 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَلَأَجْرُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
And those who migrated in (devotion to) Allah after they had been wronged – We will surely lodge them in a good [state] in this world, and the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if they had been knowing.
Research verse 16:41 →
ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
those who endured, and upon their Lord they entrust (their affairs).
Research verse 16:42 →
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
And We did not send before you except men to whom We transmit inspiration; so ask the people of the Reminder if you are not knowing.
Research verse 16:43 →
بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
[We sent them] with the clear evidences and the writings; and We have sent down to you the Reminder so that you may make clear to the people what has been sent down to them, and so that they might reflect.
Research verse 16:44 →
أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
So have those who schemed the evil [schemes] felt secure that Allah would cause the earth to cave in with them, or that the punishment would come upon them from where they are not aware?
Research verse 16:45 →
أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ فِى تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ
Or that He should seize them during their going to and fro, and so they will not be ones who can frustrate [Him].
Research verse 16:46 →
أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Or that He seizes them while they are in a state of fear—yet indeed your Lord is most gentle, ever‑merciful.
Research verse 16:47 →
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍ يَتَفَيَّؤُا۟ ظِلَٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدًا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
Have they then not seen toward what Allah has created of any thing—its shadows turning back from the right and the left, *sujjadan* to Allah while they are humbled?
Research verse 16:48 →
وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
And to Allah submits whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of any moving creature, and the angels [too], and they do not act arrogantly.
Research verse 16:49 →
يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ
They fear their Lord, the One above them, and they carry out what they are commanded.
Research verse 16:50 →
وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ إِلَٰهَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَإِيَّٰىَ فَٱرْهَبُونِ
And Allah has said, “Do not take on two gods, as two; He is only one God, so of Me alone be in awe.”
Research verse 16:51 →
وَلَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ ٱلدِّينُ وَاصِبًا أَفَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ
And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him belongs the dīn as something constant. So is it, then, other than Allah that you are wary of?
Research verse 16:52 →
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْـَٔرُونَ
And whatever blessing you have is from Allah; then when harm touches you, it is to Him that you cry out.
Research verse 16:53 →
ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
Then, when He has removed the harm from you, behold, a group of you joins others with their Lord.
Research verse 16:54 →
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ فَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
so that they will cover up (the truth of) what We have brought to them. So enjoy (yourselves), for you are indeed going to know.
Research verse 16:55 →
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ نَصِيبًا مِّمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ تَٱللَّهِ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَفْتَرُونَ
And they assign, for what they do not know, a share out of what We have provided them. By Allah, you will surely be questioned about what you used to fabricate.
Research verse 16:56 →
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ ٱلْبَنَٰتِ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
And they assign to Allah the daughters—far exalted is He—while for themselves is whatever they desire.
Research verse 16:57 →
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ
And when one of them is given news of a female, his face remains darkened, while he is choked within.
Research verse 16:58 →
يَتَوَٰرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ مِن سُوٓءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِۦٓ أَيُمْسِكُهُۥ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمْ يَدُسُّهُۥ فِى ٱلتُّرَابِ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
He withdraws, keeping out of sight from the people because of the evil of what he has been given news of: shall he keep it in a state of disgrace, or shall he conceal it in the dust? Oh, how evil is what they judge!
Research verse 16:59 →
لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مَثَلُ ٱلسَّوْءِ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْمَثَلُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
For those who do not trust in the Later [life] is the pattern of what is vile, while to Allah belongs the highest pattern; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
Research verse 16:60 →
وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
And were Allah to take people to task for their wrongdoing, He would not leave upon it any moving creature; but He postpones them to a specified term. Then when their term comes, they can neither delay it by an hour nor advance it.
Research verse 16:61 →
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ مَا يَكْرَهُونَ وَتَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُهُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَأَنَّهُم مُّفْرَطُونَ
And they assign to God what they themselves dislike, while their tongues describe the lie that the finest outcome will be theirs. No indeed: it is that the Fire will be theirs, and that they will be ones sent ahead.
Research verse 16:62 →
تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
By Allah, We have indeed sent [messengers] to communities before you; then the shayṭān made their deeds seem appealing to them, so he is their ally today, and for them is a painful punishment.
Research verse 16:63 →
وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
And We did not send down the Book to you except that you make clear to them that over which they differed, and as guidance and mercy for a people who are trusting (in it).
Research verse 16:64 →
وَٱللَّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ
And Allah has sent down water from the sky, then by it He brought the earth to life after its death. Indeed, in that is a sign for a people who listen.
Research verse 16:65 →
وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهِۦ مِنۢ بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَآئِغًا لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ
And indeed, for you in the livestock there is surely a lesson: We give you drink from what is in its bellies, from between dung and blood, milk—pure, smoothly passing for those who drink.
Research verse 16:66 →
وَمِن ثَمَرَٰتِ ٱلنَّخِيلِ وَٱلْأَعْنَٰبِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
And from the fruits of the date‑palms and the grapevines you make from it an intoxicant and a good provision. Indeed, in that is a sign for a people who use reason.
Research verse 16:67 →
وَأَوْحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلنَّحْلِ أَنِ ٱتَّخِذِى مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا وَمِنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ
And your Lord communicated to the bee: “Take for yourself, from the mountains, dwellings, and from the trees, and from what they trellis.”
Research verse 16:68 →
ثُمَّ كُلِى مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ فَٱسْلُكِى سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ فِيهِ شِفَآءٌ لِّلنَّاسِ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
Then eat from every [kind of] fruit, and follow the pathways of your Lord, made easy. From their bellies there comes out a drink of differing colors; in it there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reflect.
Research verse 16:69 →
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ ٱلْعُمُرِ لِكَىْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ
And Allah created you, then He completes your term and takes you fully; and among you is one who is turned back to the most abject stage of life, so that after [having] knowledge he does not know anything. Indeed, Allah is All‑Knowing, All‑Powerful.
Research verse 16:70 →
وَٱللَّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِى ٱلرِّزْقِ فَمَا ٱلَّذِينَ فُضِّلُوا۟ بِرَآدِّى رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌ أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ
And Allah has given some of you advantage over others in provision; yet those who have been given advantage are not ones who return their provision to those whom their right hands possess so that they become equal with them in it. So is it then the favor of Allah that they are denying?
Research verse 16:71 →
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةً وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ أَفَبِٱلْبَٰطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ
And Allah has made for you, from your own selves, partners, and has made for you, from your partners, sons and attendants, and has provided for you from the wholesome things. So is it then with what is null and vain that they trust, while in Allah’s blessing they are ungrateful?
Research verse 16:72 →
وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
And they serve, apart from Allah, what does not possess for them any provision from the heavens and the earth at all, nor are they able.
Research verse 16:73 →
فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
So do not set forth the likenesses for Allah. Indeed, Allah knows, while you do not know.
Research verse 16:74 →
ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَٰهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًا هَلْ يَسْتَوُۥنَ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Allah has struck a likeness: a slave, owned, who is not able over anything, and one whom We have provided from Us with a good provision, so he spends from it secretly and openly. Are they equal? Praise belongs to Allah; rather, most of them do not know.
Research verse 16:75 →
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَبْكَمُ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوْلَىٰهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
And Allah has set forth a likeness of two men: one of them is dumb, unable to have power over anything, and he is a (dependent) load upon his protector; wherever he directs him, he does not come with any good. Is he equal to one who enjoins justice while he is upon a straight path?
Research verse 16:76 →
وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَآ أَمْرُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمْحِ ٱلْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
And to Allah belongs the hidden (unseen) of the heavens and the earth; and the affair of the Hour is nothing but like the flicker of the glance, or it is nearer. Indeed, Allah is powerful over every thing.
Research verse 16:77 →
وَٱللَّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّنۢ بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
And Allah brought you out from the bellies of your mothers, while you did not know anything; and He assigned for you the hearing, and the sights, and the hearts, so that you might be grateful.
Research verse 16:78 →
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍ فِى جَوِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Have they not seen the birds, made subservient in the air of the sky? None restrains them except Allah. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who trust.
Research verse 16:79 →
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنۢ بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بُيُوتًا تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْبَارِهَا وَأَشْعَارِهَآ أَثَٰثًا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
And Allah has made for you, from your houses, a stillness to dwell in; and He has made for you, from the skins of the livestock, houses which you treat as light on the day of your journeying and the day of your staying; and from their wool, and their fur, and their hair, furnishings and a utility for a while.
Research verse 16:80 →
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَٰلًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ أَكْنَٰنًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ ٱلْحَرَّ وَسَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ
And Allah has made for you, from what He has created, shades; and He has made for you, from the mountains, hiding-places; and He has made for you garments that shield you from the heat, and garments that shield you from your might. Thus does He complete His favor upon you, so that you may be at peace / be secure.
Research verse 16:81 →
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
So if they turn away, then upon you is only the evident conveying.
Research verse 16:82 →
يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
They recognize Allah’s blessing, then they repudiate it; and most of them are deniers.
Research verse 16:83 →
وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا ثُمَّ لَا يُؤْذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ
And [remember] the Day when We raise up from every community a witness; then permission will not be given to those who covered [the truth], nor will they be granted any opportunity to restore favor.
Research verse 16:84 →
وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
And when those who did wrong see the punishment, it will not be lightened for them, nor will they be given any respite.
Research verse 16:85 →
وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَهُمْ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُرَكَآؤُنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِكَ فَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ إِنَّكُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
And when those who joined [others] see their partners, they will say, “Our Lord, these are our partners whom we used to call upon apart from You.” Then they will cast back to them the statement, “You are indeed liars.”
Research verse 16:86 →
وَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلسَّلَمَ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
And that Day they will cast to God [their] surrender, and lost from them will be what they used to fabricate.
Research verse 16:87 →
ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ زِدْنَٰهُمْ عَذَابًا فَوْقَ ٱلْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يُفْسِدُونَ
Those who covered [the truth] and blocked [others] from the path of Allah – We increased them in a torment above the torment because of how they used to cause corruption.
Research verse 16:88 →
وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ شَهِيدًا عَلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ تِبْيَٰنًا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
And [remember] the Day We raise up, within every community, a witness against them from among themselves; and We bring you as a witness against these. And We have sent down to you the Book as a making-clear of every thing, and as guidance, and mercy, and good news for those who submit.
Research verse 16:89 →
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱلْإِحْسَٰنِ وَإِيتَآئِ ذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْبَغْىِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
Indeed, Allah commands equity and excellence, and the giving to the possessor of kinship, and He forbids the indecency, and the repudiated [wrong], and the transgression. He admonishes you so that you might remember.
Research verse 16:90 →
وَأَوْفُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا عَٰهَدتُّمْ وَلَا تَنقُضُوا۟ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
And fulfill the covenant of God when you make a covenant, and do not undo the oaths after strengthening them, while you have made God a guarantor over you. Indeed, God knows what you do.
Research verse 16:91 →
وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّتِى نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَٰثًا تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ دَخَلًۢا بَيْنَكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِىَ أَرْبَىٰ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ إِنَّمَا يَبْلُوكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ
And do not be like the one who unravels her spun thread after [its] strength into loose strands, [by] taking your oaths as a means of intrusion among you, because one community is more increased than another community. Allah is only testing you by it, and He will surely make clear to you on the Day of Standing what you used to differ about.
Research verse 16:92 →
وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ وَلَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
And if Allah had willed, He would certainly have made you one community; but He lets go astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and you will surely be questioned about what you had been doing.
Research verse 16:93 →
وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ دَخَلًۢا بَيْنَكُمْ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌۢ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَكُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
And do not take your oaths as a means of intrusion among you, so that a foot should slip after its firmness, and you taste the bad [outcome] because of how you turned away from the path of Allah; and for you there is a tremendous punishment.
Research verse 16:94 →
وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا إِنَّمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
And do not purchase, with the covenant of Allah, a paltry price; what is with Allah is, indeed, better for you, if you are (truly) knowing.
Research verse 16:95 →
مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ بَاقٍ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
What is with you runs out, while what is with Allah is enduring. And We will surely recompense those who endured with their reward according to the best of what they used to do.
Research verse 16:96 →
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُۥ حَيَوٰةً طَيِّبَةً وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Whoever does a sound deed, whether male or female, while being one who is secure in faith, We will most surely make him live a wholesome life, and We will most surely repay them their reward by the best of what they used to do.
Research verse 16:97 →
فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ فَٱسْتَعِذْ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
So when you recite the Qur’an, then seek protection with Allah from the accursed satan.
Research verse 16:98 →
إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ سُلْطَٰنٌ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
Indeed, he has no power over those who have believed and who place their trust upon their Lord.
Research verse 16:99 →
إِنَّمَا سُلْطَٰنُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِهِۦ مُشْرِكُونَ
His influence is only over those who turn to him as a patron, and those who, through him, are ones who join others (with God).
Research verse 16:100 →
وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَآ ءَايَةً مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٍ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍۭ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
And when We exchange a sign in place of a sign – and Allah is most knowing of what He sends down – they say, “You are only a fabricator.” Rather, most of them do not know.
Research verse 16:101 →
قُلْ نَزَّلَهُۥ رُوحُ ٱلْقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
Say, “The Holy Spirit has gradually sent it down from your Lord with the truth, in order to make firm those who have attained faith, and as guidance and good news for those who have submitted.”
Research verse 16:102 →
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُۥ بَشَرٌ لِّسَانُ ٱلَّذِى يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِىٌّ وَهَٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِىٌّ مُّبِينٌ
And We certainly know that they say, “It is only a human who is teaching it to him.” The tongue of the one they distort [the matter] toward is non‑Arab, while this is a clear Arabic tongue.
Research verse 16:103 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَهْدِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Indeed, those who do not trust in the signs of Allah – Allah does not guide them, and for them is a painful punishment.
Research verse 16:104 →
إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِى ٱلْكَذِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَٰذِبُونَ
It is only those who do not trust in the signs of Allah who fabricate the lie, and it is they who are the liars.
Research verse 16:105 →
مَن كَفَرَ بِٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَٰنِهِۦٓ إِلَّا مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُۥ مُطْمَئِنٌّۢ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ وَلَٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِٱلْكُفْرِ صَدْرًا فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
Whoever covers up (the truth regarding) Allah after his trustful security, except one who has been compelled while his heart is at rest in the trust, but whoever opens up a breast for the covering (of truth) – upon such are anger from Allah, and for them is a tremendous punishment.
Research verse 16:106 →
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
That is because they sought to prefer the lowly life over the Later one, and because Allah does not guide the people who cover [the truth].
Research verse 16:107 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ
Those are the ones whose hearts, hearing, and sight Allah has stamped; and those are the ones who are heedless.
Research verse 16:108 →
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
No escape: they, in the Hereafter, they are the losers.
Research verse 16:109 →
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُوا۟ ثُمَّ جَٰهَدُوا۟ وَصَبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Then indeed, your Lord — for those who migrated after they had been put to trial, then strove and endured — indeed, your Lord, after that, is surely All‑covering (in forgiveness), Ever‑merciful.
Research verse 16:110 →
يَوْمَ تَأْتِى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجَٰدِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
The Day when every soul will come, arguing on behalf of itself; and every soul will be paid in full what it has done, and they will not be wronged.
Research verse 16:111 →
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ ءَامِنَةً مُّطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلْجُوعِ وَٱلْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَصْنَعُونَ
And Allah has set forth a parable: a town that had been safe, at ease, its provision coming to it in ease from every place; yet it covered up Allah’s pleasant gifts, so Allah made it taste the clothing of hunger and fear because of what they had been crafting.
Research verse 16:112 →
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ
And a messenger from among them certainly came to them, but they denied him, so the taking‑hold of the punishment seized them while they were wrongdoers.
Research verse 16:113 →
فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَٰلًا طَيِّبًا وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ
So eat from what Allah has provided you, [as] released and wholesome, and be grateful for Allah’s favor, if it is Him alone you serve.
Research verse 16:114 →
إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
He has only forbidden to you the dead (animal), and the blood, and the flesh of the pig, and whatever has had a cry raised over it for other than Allah. But whoever has been compelled, without being one who seeks (it) or exceeds (the limit), then indeed Allah is All‑Covering (of faults), Ever‑Merciful.
Research verse 16:115 →
وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَٰلٌ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٌ لِّتَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ
And do not say, about what your tongues describe as a lie, “This is permitted and this is forbidden,” so that you fabricate the lie against Allah. Indeed, those who fabricate the lie against Allah do not attain success.
Research verse 16:116 →
مَتَٰعٌ قَلِيلٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
A little enjoyment, and for them is a painful punishment.
Research verse 16:117 →
وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَٰهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
And upon those who became Judaized We made forbidden what We have already related to you before; and We did not wrong them, but they were wronging their own selves.
Research verse 16:118 →
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٍ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Then indeed, your Lord is for those who did the bad deed in ignorance, then turned back after that and set things right — indeed, your Lord, after it, is surely All‑Covering in forgiveness, Ever‑Merciful.
Research verse 16:119 →
إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفًا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
Indeed, Abraham was a community, devoutly obedient to God, inclining away [from deviation], and he was not among those who join [others] with God.
Research verse 16:120 →
شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
Grateful for His pleasant bestowals; He selected him and guided him to a straight path.
Research verse 16:121 →
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
And We granted him a good [state] in this world, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will surely be among the righteous.
Research verse 16:122 →
ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
Then We inspired to you: “Follow the creed of Abraham, as a pure devotee,” and he had never been among those who join [others with God].
Research verse 16:123 →
إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ٱلسَّبْتُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
The sabbath was only instituted upon those who differed concerning it; and indeed your Lord will certainly decide between them on the Day of Standing regarding that in which they had been differing.
Research verse 16:124 →
ٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ وَجَٰدِلْهُم بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
Call to the path of your Lord with wisdom and the fine admonition, and dispute with them by means of that which is best. Indeed, your Lord is the most knowing of who has sunk away from His path, and He is the most knowing of those who are guided.
Research verse 16:125 →
وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِۦ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِّلصَّٰبِرِينَ
And if you requite, then requite with the like of that with which you were requited; but if you endure, it is indeed better for those who endure.
Research verse 16:126 →
وَٱصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِى ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ
So endure, and your endurance is only by Allah; and do not grieve over them, and do not be in constriction because of what they scheme.
Research verse 16:127 →
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ
Indeed, Allah is with those who are mindful (of Him), and those who are doers of excellence.
Research verse 16:128 →
