حمٓ
Hā, Mīm.
Research verse 45:1 →
تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
A sending-down of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.
Research verse 45:2 →
إِنَّ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, in the heavens and the earth there are signs for the secure-in-faith.
Research verse 45:3 →
وَفِى خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَآبَّةٍ ءَايَٰتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ
And in your creation, and in what He spreads out of creeping creatures, there are signs for a people who are sure.
Research verse 45:4 →
وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن رِّزْقٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ ءَايَٰتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
And in the alternation of the night and the day, and in what Allah sends down from the sky of provision, then gives life by it to the earth after its death, and in the turning about of the winds—[there are] signs for a people who use their reason.
Research verse 45:5 →
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Those are Allah’s signs which We recite to you in truth; so in what discourse, after Allah and His signs, will they believe?
Research verse 45:6 →
وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ
Ruin is [declared] for every great fabricator, steeped in sin.
Research verse 45:7 →
يَسْمَعُ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
who hears the signs of Allah being recited to him, then persists, acting as one who exalts himself, as though he had not heard them; so announce to him a painful punishment.
Research verse 45:8 →
وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا شَيْـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ
And when he becomes aware of anything from Our signs, he adopts them as mockery. Those – for them is a degrading punishment.
Research verse 45:9 →
مِّن وَرَآئِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُم مَّا كَسَبُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا مَا ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
From behind them is Hell, and nothing of what they have earned will suffice them, nor what they have taken as protectors apart from Allah; and for them is a tremendous punishment.
Research verse 45:10 →
هَٰذَا هُدًى وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ
This is guidance; and those who have covered up (the truth of) the signs of their Lord—for them is a painful punishment from (a state of) affliction.
Research verse 45:11 →
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِىَ ٱلْفُلْكُ فِيهِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
Allah is the One who has subjected the sea for you, so that the ships may run in it by His command, and so that you may seek of His bounty, and so that you might be grateful.
Research verse 45:12 →
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِّنْهُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
And He has made subservient for you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth — all together, from Him. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who reflect.
Research verse 45:13 →
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَغْفِرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ أَيَّامَ ٱللَّهِ لِيَجْزِىَ قَوْمًۢا بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
Say to those who have attained faith that they should cover over (i.e., forbear/overlook) [things] for those who do not anticipate the days of Allah, so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn.
Research verse 45:14 →
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ وَمَنْ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ
Whoever does a sound deed, it is for his own self; and whoever does evil, it is against it. Then to your Lord you are returned.
Research verse 45:15 →
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَفَضَّلْنَٰهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And indeed We gave the Children of Israel the Book, and the judgment, and the prophethood, and We provided for them out of the good/wholesome things, and We gave them preference over the worlds.
Research verse 45:16 →
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم بَيِّنَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ فَمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِى بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
And We gave them clear evidences from the command; yet they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, seeking excess among themselves. Indeed, your Lord will decide between them on the Day of Standing regarding that in which they used to differ.
Research verse 45:17 →
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ فَٱتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Then We set you upon a roadway from the command, so follow it, and do not follow the desires of those who do not know.
Research verse 45:18 →
إِنَّهُمْ لَن يُغْنُوا۟ عَنكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
Indeed, they will never spare you, in any way, from Allah; and indeed, the darkeners (wrongdoers)—some of them are protectors of others, while Allah is the Protector of those who are conscious (of Him).
Research verse 45:19 →
هَٰذَا بَصَٰٓئِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ
This is insights for the people, and guidance and mercy for a people who are certain.
Research verse 45:20 →
أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجْتَرَحُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجْعَلَهُمْ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَوَآءً مَّحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
Or have those who have committed the misdeeds reckoned that We would make them like those who have believed and done the sound deeds—(that) their living and their dying are equal? How bad is what they judge!
Research verse 45:21 →
وَخَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
And Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth, and so that every soul may be repaid for what it has earned; and they are not wronged.
Research verse 45:22 →
أَفَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِۦ وَقَلْبِهِۦ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِۦ غِشَٰوَةً فَمَن يَهْدِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱللَّهِ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
So have you considered the one who has taken his own desire as his god, and Allah let him go astray on [the basis of] knowledge, and sealed over his hearing and his heart, and placed over his sight a covering? So who can guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember?
Research verse 45:23 →
وَقَالُوا۟ مَا هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَآ إِلَّا ٱلدَّهْرُ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ
And they say, “It is nothing but our nearest life: we die and we live, and nothing makes us perish except time.” Yet they have no knowledge regarding that; they are only conjecturing.
Research verse 45:24 →
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
And when Our signs are recited to them as clear proofs, their case for argument is nothing but that they say, “Bring our forefathers, if you are truthful.”
Research verse 45:25 →
قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Say, “Allah gives you life, then He causes you to die; then He gathers you to the Day of Standing, there is no doubt about it. But most of the people do not know.”
Research verse 45:26 →
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; and on the Day when the Hour stands forth, on that Day the nullifiers will be the losers.
Research verse 45:27 →
وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
And you see every community crouching; every community is called to its book: “Today you are repaid for what you used to do.”
Research verse 45:28 →
هَٰذَا كِتَٰبُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
This is Our writing that speaks against you with the truth; indeed, We had been copying out what you used to do.
Research verse 45:29 →
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
So as for those who have trusted and done the sound deeds, their Lord will make them enter into His mercy; that is the evident success.
Research verse 45:30 →
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ
But as for those who covered [the truth], “So was it not that My signs were being recited to you, yet you acted arrogantly and you were a criminal people?”
Research verse 45:31 →
وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِى مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ
And when it was said, “Indeed, the appointment of Allah is a reality, and the Hour—there is no dispute concerning it,” you said, “We do not know what the Hour is; we do nothing but suppose a supposition, and we are by no means certain.”
Research verse 45:32 →
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
And the bad outcomes of what they did became evident to them, and there encompassed them that which they had been mocking.
Research verse 45:33 →
وَقِيلَ ٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
And it will be said, “Today We abandon you, just as you abandoned the meeting of this Day of yours; and your shelter is the Fire, and you have no helpers.”
Research verse 45:34 →
ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذْتُمْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ
That is because you took the signs of Allah as mockery, and the nearer life deluded you. So today they will not be brought out from it, nor will they be granted any restoration to favor.
Research verse 45:35 →
فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْحَمْدُ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَرَبِّ ٱلْأَرْضِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
So to Allah belongs the praise — Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the realms.
Research verse 45:36 →
وَلَهُ ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
And to Him belongs the supremacy in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
