حمٓ
Ḥā Mīm.
Research verse 44:1 →
وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
And by the evident Book,
Research verse 44:2 →
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
Indeed, We have sent it down in a night endowed with blessing; indeed, We have always been warners.
Research verse 44:3 →
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
In it every wise matter is separated out.
Research verse 44:4 →
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
[As] a command from Us; indeed, We have always been senders.
Research verse 44:5 →
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
As a mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the All‑Hearing, the All‑Knowing.
Research verse 44:6 →
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you are of those who are certain.
Research verse 44:7 →
لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
There is no god except Him; He gives life and causes death — your Lord and the Lord of your earliest forefathers.
Research verse 44:8 →
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
Rather, they are in doubt, playing around.
Research verse 44:9 →
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
So wait for the Day when the sky will come with a manifest smoke.
Research verse 44:10 →
يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
It covers the people: this is a painful punishment.
Research verse 44:11 →
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
“Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers.”
Research verse 44:12 →
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
How can there be for them any remembrance, when a manifest messenger has already come to them?
Research verse 44:13 →
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
Then they turned away from him and said, “One taught, insane.”
Research verse 44:14 →
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
Indeed, We are removers of the punishment for a little while; indeed, you will be returning.
Research verse 44:15 →
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
On the Day We seize with the greatest seizing — indeed, We are ones who exact retribution.
Research verse 44:16 →
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
And indeed We tested, before them, the people of Pharaoh, and a noble messenger came to them.

أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
“(Saying,) ‘Hand over to me the servants of Allah; indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.’”
Research verse 44:18 →
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
and [saying], “Do not exalt yourselves above Allah; indeed, I have come to you with a clear authority.”
Research verse 44:19 →
وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
And indeed I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, that you not assault me.
Research verse 44:20 →
وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
And if you do not trust in me, then keep away from me.
Research verse 44:21 →
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
So he called upon his Lord, “Indeed, these are a criminal people.”
Research verse 44:22 →
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
So set out by night with My servants; indeed, you are ones who will be followed.
Research verse 44:23 →
وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
And leave the sea as it is, for they are a force destined to be drowned.
Research verse 44:24 →
كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
How many gardens and springs they left behind,
Research verse 44:25 →
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
And crops, and an honorable station,
Research verse 44:26 →
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ
And [every] pleasant ease in which they had been enjoying themselves,
Research verse 44:27 →
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
In that way, and We made another people inherit it.
Research verse 44:28 →
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
So neither the sky nor the earth wept over them, and they were not given any respite.
Research verse 44:29 →
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
And indeed We delivered the Children of Israel from the humiliating punishment,
Research verse 44:30 →
مِن فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
from Pharaoh. Indeed, he was exalted, [one] from among the extravagant.
Research verse 44:31 →
وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And We certainly chose them, with knowledge, above the worlds.
Research verse 44:32 →
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
And We gave them, out of the signs, that in which there was a manifest test.
Research verse 44:33 →
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
Indeed, these ones surely say,
Research verse 44:34 →
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
“It is nothing but our first death, and we are not ones to be spread out (again).”
Research verse 44:35 →
فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
So bring our fathers, if you are truthful.
Research verse 44:36 →
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
Are they better, or the people of Tubbaʿ and those before them? We caused them to perish; indeed, they used to be criminals.
Research verse 44:37 →
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ
And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them as players.
Research verse 44:38 →
مَا خَلَقْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
We did not create them both except with the truth; but most of them do not know.
Research verse 44:39 →
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Indeed, the Day of Separation is their appointed time, all together.
Research verse 44:40 →
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
The Day when no ally will avail any ally in anything, and they will not be given help.
Research verse 44:41 →
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Except the one whom Allah has shown mercy to; indeed, it is He who is the Mighty, the Merciful.
Research verse 44:42 →
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
Indeed, the tree of zaqqum
Research verse 44:43 →
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
[It is] the food of the sinful.
Research verse 44:44 →
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
Like molten dregs, it boils within the bellies.
Research verse 44:45 →
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
Like the boiling of the scalding water.
Research verse 44:46 →
خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
Seize him, then shove him toward the very middle of the Hellfire.
Research verse 44:47 →
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
Then pour above his head from the torment of the boiling-hot water.
Research verse 44:48 →
ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
“Taste—indeed, you are the mighty, the noble.”
Research verse 44:49 →
إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
Indeed, this is what you used to be in doubt about.
Research verse 44:50 →
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
Indeed, the God-conscious are in a trustworthy station.
Research verse 44:51 →
فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
in gardens and springs,
Research verse 44:52 →
يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
They will wear, from fine silk and brocade, [while] facing one another.
Research verse 44:53 →
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
In that way, and We have paired them with companions of intensely bright eyes.
Research verse 44:54 →
يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
They will call therein for every fruit, being secure.
Research verse 44:55 →
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
They will not taste death in it, except the first death; and He has shielded them from the punishment of the Blaze.
Research verse 44:56 →
فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
As a favor from your Lord. That is the tremendous success.
Research verse 44:57 →
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
So indeed We have made it easy by your tongue, so that they might remember.
Research verse 44:58 →
فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
So wait, for indeed they are ones who are waiting.
Research verse 44:59 →
