تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
A sending-down of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.
Research verse 39:1 →
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَٱعْبُدِ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصًا لَّهُ ٱلدِّينَ
Indeed, We have sent down to you the Writing with the truth; so serve Allah, making the judgment exclusively His.
Research verse 39:2 →
أَلَا لِلَّهِ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْخَالِصُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ زُلْفَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِى مَا هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَنْ هُوَ كَٰذِبٌ كَفَّارٌ
Behold! To Allah belongs the religion devoted exclusively (to Him). And those who have taken, apart from Him, [other] allies say, “We do not serve them except so that they may bring us near to Allah in closeness.” Indeed, Allah will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, Allah does not guide whoever is a liar, an excessive concealer (of the truth).
Research verse 39:3 →
لَّوْ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا لَّٱصْطَفَىٰ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّارُ
If Allah had willed to take a child, He would surely have selected from what He creates whatever He wills. Glory be to Him! He is Allah, the One, the Subduer.
Research verse 39:4 →
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ يُكَوِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ عَلَى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ ٱلنَّهَارَ عَلَى ٱلَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِى لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى أَلَا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفَّٰرُ
He created the heavens and the earth with the truth. He rolls the night over the day and rolls the day over the night, and He has subjected the sun and the moon—each one flows until a specified term. Behold, He is the Almighty, the Ever-Covering Forgiver.
Research verse 39:5 →
خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ ثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَزْوَٰجٍ يَخْلُقُكُمْ فِى بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ خَلْقًا مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَلْقٍ فِى ظُلُمَٰتٍ ثَلَٰثٍ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصْرَفُونَ
He created you from a single self, then made from it its pair, and sent down for you, from the livestock, eight pairs. He creates you in the bellies of your mothers, a formation after a formation, within three darknesses. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs the dominion. There is no god except Him, so how are you turned away?
Research verse 39:6 →
إِن تَكْفُرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنكُمْ وَلَا يَرْضَىٰ لِعِبَادِهِ ٱلْكُفْرَ وَإِن تَشْكُرُوا۟ يَرْضَهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
If you cover [the truth], then indeed Allah is independent of you; yet He does not approve for His servants the covering [of the truth]. And if you are grateful, He approves it for you. And no bearer [of burden] will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you about what you had been doing. Indeed, He is all-knowing of what is within the chests.
Research verse 39:7 →
وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ ضُرٌّ دَعَا رَبَّهُۥ مُنِيبًا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلَهُۥ نِعْمَةً مِّنْهُ نَسِىَ مَا كَانَ يَدْعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ مِن قَبْلُ وَجَعَلَ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًا لِّيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ قُلْ تَمَتَّعْ بِكُفْرِكَ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ
And when harm touches the human, he calls his Lord, turning back to Him; then when He allots to him a favor from Himself, he forgets what he used to call to Him for before, and he sets up counterparts for Allah to make [people] stray from His path. Say, “Enjoy your covering of the truth for a little while; indeed, you are among the companions of the Fire.”
Research verse 39:8 →
أَمَّنْ هُوَ قَٰنِتٌ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ سَاجِدًا وَقَآئِمًا يَحْذَرُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَيَرْجُوا۟ رَحْمَةَ رَبِّهِۦ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
Or is one who is devoutly constant in the watches of the night, prostrating and standing, wary of the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord [like one who is not]? Say, “Are those who know equal to those who do not know?” Only those endowed with cores of understanding take heed.
Research verse 39:9 →
قُلْ يَٰعِبَادِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌ وَأَرْضُ ٱللَّهِ وَٰسِعَةٌ إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ أَجْرَهُم بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
Say, "O My servants who have believed, be wary of your Lord. For those who have done good in this present life there is a good [outcome]; and the earth of Allah is spacious. Only the ones who endure are paid their reward in full, without reckoning."
Research verse 39:10 →
قُلْ إِنِّىٓ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصًا لَّهُ ٱلدِّينَ
Say, “Indeed I have been commanded to serve Allah, devoting the judgment entirely to Him.”
Research verse 39:11 →
وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَنْ أَكُونَ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
And I have been commanded to be the foremost of those who submit.
Research verse 39:12 →
قُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّى عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Say, “Indeed I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the correction of a tremendous Day.”
Research verse 39:13 →
قُلِ ٱللَّهَ أَعْبُدُ مُخْلِصًا لَّهُۥ دِينِى
Say, “It is Allah that I serve, devoting my judgment entirely to Him.”
Research verse 39:14 →
فَٱعْبُدُوا۟ مَا شِئْتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ أَلَا ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْخُسْرَانُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
So serve whatever you wish apart from Him. Say, “Indeed, the losers are those who have lost their own selves and their people on the Day of Standing. Oh, that— it is the evident loss.”
Research verse 39:15 →
لَهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ ظُلَلٌ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَمِن تَحْتِهِمْ ظُلَلٌ ذَٰلِكَ يُخَوِّفُ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦ عِبَادَهُۥ يَٰعِبَادِ فَٱتَّقُونِ
For them, above them are layers of the Fire, and beneath them are (also) layers. That is what Allah uses by it to instill fear in His servants. O My servants, so be wary of Me.
Research verse 39:16 →
وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱجْتَنَبُوا۟ ٱلطَّٰغُوتَ أَن يَعْبُدُوهَا وَأَنَابُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ لَهُمُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ فَبَشِّرْ عِبَادِ
And those who kept away from the rebellious false power, so that they do not serve it, and turned back toward Allah – for them is the good news. So give good news to My servants,
Research verse 39:17 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ ٱلْقَوْلَ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ أَحْسَنَهُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
Those who listen attentively to the statement, then follow the best of it — those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are the possessors of cores (of hearts / inner understanding).
Research verse 39:18 →
أَفَمَنْ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِ كَلِمَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ أَفَأَنتَ تُنقِذُ مَن فِى ٱلنَّارِ
So is one upon whom the word of the punishment has become binding – will you then rescue one who is in the Fire?
Research verse 39:19 →
لَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ غُرَفٌ مِّن فَوْقِهَا غُرَفٌ مَّبْنِيَّةٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ
But as for those who were conscious of their Lord, for them are upper rooms, with above them [other] constructed upper rooms, rivers flowing from beneath them. [This is] Allah’s promise; Allah does not break the appointment.
Research verse 39:20 →
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَلَكَهُۥ يَنَٰبِيعَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرْعًا مُّخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُۥ حُطَٰمًا إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
Have you not seen that Allah sent down water from the sky, then made it travel as springs within the earth; then He brings out with it a cultivation whose colors are diverse; then it surges, and you see it yellowed; then He makes it crushed debris. Indeed, in that is surely a reminder for possessors of cores (sound minds).
Research verse 39:21 →
أَفَمَن شَرَحَ ٱللَّهُ صَدْرَهُۥ لِلْإِسْلَٰمِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْقَٰسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
So is one whose chest Allah has opened up for the submission, so he is upon a light from his Lord [like one who is not]? Then woe to those whose hearts are hardened away from the remembrance of Allah; those are in clear misguidance.
Research verse 39:22 →
ٱللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ كِتَٰبًا مُّتَشَٰبِهًا مَّثَانِىَ تَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُ جُلُودُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ
God has sent down the finest discourse: a written text, resembling [in its parts], recurring in twos. The skins of those who are in awe of their Lord bristle from it; then their skins and their hearts soften towards the remembrance of God. That is God’s guidance; by it He guides whom He wills. And whomever God lets go astray—for him there is no guide.
Research verse 39:23 →
أَفَمَن يَتَّقِى بِوَجْهِهِۦ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَقِيلَ لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ ذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ
So is one who shields himself with his face from the evil of the punishment on the Day of Standing (Resurrection) [like one who is safe]? And it will be said to the darkeners (wrongdoers), “Taste what you used to earn.”
Research verse 39:24 →
كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Those before them belied, so the chastisement came upon them from where they were not aware.
Research verse 39:25 →
فَأَذَاقَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخِزْىَ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
So Allah made them taste the disgrace in the lowly life, while the punishment of the later (life) is greater—if only they had been knowing.
Research verse 39:26 →
وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِى هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
And We have indeed set forth for the people, in this Recitation, of every kind of likeness, so that they might remember.
Research verse 39:27 →
قُرْءَانًا عَرَبِيًّا غَيْرَ ذِى عِوَجٍ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ
An Arabic Qur’an, without any crookedness, so that they may be mindful (and protect themselves).
Research verse 39:28 →
ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلًا فِيهِ شُرَكَآءُ مُتَشَٰكِسُونَ وَرَجُلًا سَلَمًا لِّرَجُلٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Allah has set forth a likeness: a man in whom there are partners, mutually antagonistic, and a man wholly devoted to one man—do the two equal each other in likeness? All praise belongs to Allah, but most of them do not know.
Research verse 39:29 →
إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ وَإِنَّهُم مَّيِّتُونَ
Indeed, you are one who will die, and indeed, they are ones who will die.
Research verse 39:30 →
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ
Then indeed, you, on the Day of Standing, will dispute in the presence of your Lord.
Research verse 39:31 →
فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَذَبَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلصِّدْقِ إِذْ جَآءَهُۥٓ أَلَيْسَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ
So who is more unjust than one who has lied against Allah and denied the truth when it came to him? Is there not in Hell a dwelling-place for the deniers?
Research verse 39:32 →
وَٱلَّذِى جَآءَ بِٱلصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ
And the one who came with the truth, and the one who affirmed it – those are the ones who are mindful (of God).
Research verse 39:33 →
لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
For them is whatever they will with their Lord; that is the recompense of the doers of excellence.
Research verse 39:34 →
لِيُكَفِّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ أَسْوَأَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِيَهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
so that Allah may efface from them the worst of what they did, and reward them with their recompense according to the best of what they used to do.
Research verse 39:35 →
أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِكَافٍ عَبْدَهُۥ وَيُخَوِّفُونَكَ بِٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ
Is not Allah sufficient for His servant? Yet they frighten you with those apart from Him. And whomever Allah lets go astray—for him there is no guide.
Research verse 39:36 →
وَمَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن مُّضِلٍّ أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِعَزِيزٍ ذِى ٱنتِقَامٍ
And whomever Allah guides, then there is no misleader for him. Is not Allah mighty, possessor of vengeance?
Research verse 39:37 →
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ قُلْ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ هَلْ هُنَّ كَٰشِفَٰتُ ضُرِّهِۦٓ أَوْ أَرَادَنِى بِرَحْمَةٍ هَلْ هُنَّ مُمْسِكَٰتُ رَحْمَتِهِۦ قُلْ حَسْبِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ يَتَوَكَّلُ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
And if you were to ask them, “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they would surely say, “Allah.” Say, “So have you considered what you call upon apart from Allah? If Allah intends me with harm, are they removers of His harm? Or if He intends me with mercy, are they withholders of His mercy?” Say, “Allah is enough for me; upon Him the ones who rely place their trust.”
Research verse 39:38 →
قُلْ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّى عَٰمِلٌ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Say, “O my people, act upon your standing; indeed, I am acting. Then you will come to know.”
Research verse 39:39 →
مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ
who it is that a punishment will come to, one that disgraces him, and upon whom a settled punishment will alight.
Research verse 39:40 →
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لِلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ
Indeed, We have sent down to you the Written Book for mankind, with the truth. So whoever is guided, is only guided for his own self; and whoever sinks astray, then he only sinks against it. And you are not a trustee in charge over them.
Research verse 39:41 →
ٱللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَٱلَّتِى لَمْ تَمُتْ فِى مَنَامِهَا فَيُمْسِكُ ٱلَّتِى قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
Allah fully takes the selves at the time of their death, and those that have not died, in their sleep; then He holds back the one upon which He has decreed death, and He sends forth the other until a specified term. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who reflect.
Research verse 39:42 →
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ شُفَعَآءَ قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ
Or have they taken, apart from Allah, intercessors? Say, “Even if they do not possess anything and do not use reason?”
Research verse 39:43 →
قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُ جَمِيعًا لَّهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
Say, “To Allah belongs the intercession altogether. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; then to Him you will be made to return.”
Research verse 39:44 →
وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ ٱشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
And when Allah is mentioned alone, the hearts of those who do not trust in the Hereafter recoil; but when those apart from Him are mentioned, at once they become overjoyed.
Research verse 39:45 →
قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ عَٰلِمَ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ أَنتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِى مَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
Say, “O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the hidden and the witnessed, You judge between Your servants concerning that in which they had been differing.”
Research verse 39:46 →
وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُۥ مَعَهُۥ لَٱفْتَدَوْا۟ بِهِۦ مِن سُوٓءِ ٱلْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَبَدَا لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ يَحْتَسِبُونَ
And if those who did wrong had whatever is in the earth, all together, and the like of it along with it, they would indeed ransom themselves with it from the evil of the punishment on the Day of Standing. And there appeared to them, from Allah, what they had not been reckoning.
Research verse 39:47 →
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
And the bad outcomes of what they earned became evident to them, and there encompassed them that which they had been mocking.
Research verse 39:48 →
فَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَٰهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍۭ بَلْ هِىَ فِتْنَةٌ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
So when harm touches the human, he calls upon Us; then when We have allotted to him a favor from Us, he says, “I was only given it on account of knowledge.” No indeed, it is a trial—but most of them do not know.
Research verse 39:49 →
قَدْ قَالَهَا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
Those before them certainly said it, so what they used to earn did not avail them.
Research verse 39:50 →
فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ سَيُصِيبُهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ
So the bad outcomes of what they earned struck them; and those who have done wrong among these, the bad outcomes of what they earned will strike them, and they are not ones to frustrate [it].
Research verse 39:51 →
أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Have they not known that Allah outspreads the provision for whom He wills and measures it out? Indeed, in that are signs for a people who trust (in Him).
Research verse 39:52 →
قُلْ يَٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Say, “O My servants who have been excessive against their own selves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah covers/frees from all liabilities (all ‘tails’ of deeds). Indeed, He is the All-Covering (of faults), the Ever-Merciful.”
Research verse 39:53 →
وَأَنِيبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَسْلِمُوا۟ لَهُۥ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ
And turn back toward your Lord and yield yourselves to Him before the punishment comes to you; then you will not be given help.
Research verse 39:54 →
وَٱتَّبِعُوٓا۟ أَحْسَنَ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ بَغْتَةً وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ
And follow the best of what has been sent down to you from your Lord, before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you are not aware.
Research verse 39:55 →
أَن تَقُولَ نَفْسٌ يَٰحَسْرَتَىٰ عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطتُ فِى جَنۢبِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِن كُنتُ لَمِنَ ٱلسَّٰخِرِينَ
lest a soul should say, “Alas for my regret over what I fell short in, regarding the side of Allah, and that I was indeed among those who scoffed.”
Research verse 39:56 →
أَوْ تَقُولَ لَوْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هَدَىٰنِى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
Or [lest] it say, “If only Allah had guided me, I would surely have been among the God‑conscious.”
Research verse 39:57 →
أَوْ تَقُولَ حِينَ تَرَى ٱلْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِى كَرَّةً فَأَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Or [lest it] say, when it sees the punishment, “If only I had a return, then I would be among the doers of good.”
Research verse 39:58 →
بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَآءَتْكَ ءَايَٰتِى فَكَذَّبْتَ بِهَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرْتَ وَكُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Yes indeed! My signs did come to you, but you belied them, and acted arrogantly, and you were among those who deny [the truth].
Research verse 39:59 →
وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ تَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وُجُوهُهُم مُّسْوَدَّةٌ أَلَيْسَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
And on the Day of Standing you will see those who lied against God – their faces darkened. Is there not, in Jahannam, a dwelling-place for the arrogant?
Research verse 39:60 →
وَيُنَجِّى ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ بِمَفَازَتِهِمْ لَا يَمَسُّهُمُ ٱلسُّوٓءُ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
And Allah will deliver those who were conscious (of Him) into their place of success; no harm will touch them, nor will they grieve.
Research verse 39:61 →
ٱللَّهُ خَٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَكِيلٌ
Allah is the Maker of every thing, and He is, over every thing, an Entrusted Manager.
Research verse 39:62 →
لَّهُۥ مَقَالِيدُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
To Him belong the controls of the heavens and the earth; and those who have denied the signs of Allah – those, they are the losers.
Research verse 39:63 →
قُلْ أَفَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ تَأْمُرُوٓنِّىٓ أَعْبُدُ أَيُّهَا ٱلْجَٰهِلُونَ
Say, “Is it other than Allah that you are ordering me to serve, O you ignorant ones?”
Research verse 39:64 →
وَلَقَدْ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
And it has indeed been revealed to you and to those before you: if you were to join (others) as partners, your work would surely be nullified, and you would surely become among the losers.
Research verse 39:65 →
بَلِ ٱللَّهَ فَٱعْبُدْ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
Rather, Allah—so serve [Him], and be among the ones who show gratitude.
Research verse 39:66 →
وَمَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦ وَٱلْأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ مَطْوِيَّٰتٌۢ بِيَمِينِهِۦ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
And they did not measure Allah with the true measure that is His; and the earth, all together, is His grasp on the Day of Standing, and the heavens are folded up by His right; glory be to Him, and exalted is He above what they join [with Him].
Research verse 39:67 →
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخْرَىٰ فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌ يَنظُرُونَ
And the trumpet is blown, then whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth collapses senseless, except whom Allah wills; then it is blown in it a second time, and suddenly they are standing, looking on.
Research verse 39:68 →
وَأَشْرَقَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ بِنُورِ رَبِّهَا وَوُضِعَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ وَجِا۟ىٓءَ بِٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ وَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
And the earth shone with the light of its Lord, and the Book was set down, and the prophets and the witnesses were brought, and judgment was concluded between them with the truth, and they are not wronged.
Research verse 39:69 →
وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ
And every soul was paid in full for what it had done, and He is most knowing of what they do.
Research verse 39:70 →
وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ زُمَرًا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكُمْ وَيُنذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَلَٰكِنْ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And those who covered [the truth] will be driven towards Hell in groups, until when they come to it, its gates are opened, and its keepers say to them, “Did there not come to you messengers from among yourselves, reciting to you the signs of your Lord and warning you about the encounter of this Day of yours?” They will say, “Yes indeed; but the decree of the repair [through retribution] has become binding upon the deniers.”
Research verse 39:71 →
قِيلَ ٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
It was said, “Enter the gates of Hell, remaining therein.” So how vile is the place of stay of those who act as great.
Research verse 39:72 →
وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْجَنَّةِ زُمَرًا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا وَفُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ طِبْتُمْ فَٱدْخُلُوهَا خَٰلِدِينَ
And those who were conscious of their Lord will be driven to the Garden in groups, until when they come to it and its gates have been opened, its keepers will say to them, “Peace be upon you; you have become good, so enter it, remaining.”
Research verse 39:73 →
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى صَدَقَنَا وَعْدَهُۥ وَأَوْرَثَنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَآءُ فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ
And they will say, “Praise belongs to Allah, the One who has proven true His promise to us and has caused us to inherit the land, so we settle from the Garden wherever we wish. How excellent is the reward of the workers!”
Research verse 39:74 →
وَتَرَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ حَآفِّينَ مِنْ حَوْلِ ٱلْعَرْشِ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَقِيلَ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And you will see the angels encircling all around the Throne, proclaiming the transcendence of [God] along with praise of their Lord. And it has been decided between them in truth, and it will be said, “Praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
Research verse 39:75 →
