الٓمٓ
Alif. Lam. Meem.
Research verse 31:1 →
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
These are the signs of the wise Writing.
Research verse 31:2 →
هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّلْمُحْسِنِينَ
As guidance and mercy for the doers of good.
Research verse 31:3 →
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
Those who uphold the salāh, and give the zakāh, and it is the Hereafter about which they are certain.
Research verse 31:4 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
Those are upon guidance from their Lord, and those—they are the ones who attain success.
Research verse 31:5 →
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِى لَهْوَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ
And among the people is one who acquires diverting talk, to lead [others] astray from the path of Allah without knowledge, and he takes it as mockery. Those – for them is a degrading punishment.
Research verse 31:6 →
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَأَنَّ فِىٓ أُذُنَيْهِ وَقْرًا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
And when Our signs are recited to him, he turns away, acting as one who exalts himself, as though he had not heard them, as though there were a weight in his ears. So announce to him a painful punishment.
Research verse 31:7 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتُ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Indeed, those who have attained trustful security and have done the sound, wholesome deeds—for them are gardens of delightful ease.
Research verse 31:8 →
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقًّا وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
Remaining therein, as the promise of Allah in full truth; and He is the All‑Strong, the All‑Wise.
Research verse 31:9 →
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ
He created the heavens without supports that you see, and He cast into the earth stabilizers so that it does not sway with you, and He spread throughout it from every creeping creature. And We sent down water from the sky, then We caused to grow in it, of every kind of noble pair.
Research verse 31:10 →
هَٰذَا خَلْقُ ٱللَّهِ فَأَرُونِى مَاذَا خَلَقَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦ بَلِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
This is Allah’s creation; so show Me what those, apart from Him, have created. No, rather, the darkeners are in evident straying.
Research verse 31:11 →
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا لُقْمَٰنَ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِلَّهِ وَمَن يَشْكُرْ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ حَمِيدٌ
And indeed We gave Luqman the wisdom: “Show gratitude to Allah.” And whoever shows gratitude, then he only shows gratitude for his own self; and whoever covers (it / is ungrateful), then indeed Allah is self-sufficient, praiseworthy.
Research verse 31:12 →
وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَٰنُ لِٱبْنِهِۦ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُۥ يَٰبُنَىَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱلشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ
And when Luqman said to his son, while he was admonishing him, “My dear son, do not join (anything) with Allah; indeed, joining (others) is surely a tremendous wrongdoing.”
Research verse 31:13 →
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
And We instructed the human being regarding his parents: his mother carried him, weakness upon weakness, and his separation is in two years: “Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the destination.”
Research verse 31:14 →
وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
And if they strive against you so that you join with Me what you have no knowledge of, then do not obey them; but keep their company in this world in a recognized good way, and follow the path of whoever turns back to Me. Then to Me is your return, and I will inform you of what you had been doing.
Research verse 31:15 →
يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنَّهَآ إِن تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُن فِى صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ أَوْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا ٱللَّهُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ
My dear son, indeed, if it should be [something] of the weight of a mustard seed, and it should be in a rock, or in the heavens, or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Indeed, Allah is Subtle, All‑Aware.
Research verse 31:16 →
يَٰبُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱنْهَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَكَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ
My dear son, uphold the prayer, and instruct with what is recognized [as right], and restrain from what is disapproved, and endure regarding what reaches you; indeed, that is surely among the matters of firm resolve.
Research verse 31:17 →
وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ
And do not twist your cheek away from people, and do not walk on the earth in exultant self-display. Indeed, Allah does not love anyone who is self-conceited and boastful.
Research verse 31:18 →
وَٱقْصِدْ فِى مَشْيِكَ وَٱغْضُضْ مِن صَوْتِكَ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ ٱلْأَصْوَٰتِ لَصَوْتُ ٱلْحَمِيرِ
And aim straight in your walking, and lower (some) of your voice; indeed, the most disowned of voices is surely the voice of donkeys.
Research verse 31:19 →
أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُۥ ظَٰهِرَةً وَبَاطِنَةً وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِى ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَٰبٍ مُّنِيرٍ
Have you not seen that Allah has subjected for you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and has completed upon you His favors, outward and inward? Yet among the people is one who disputes concerning Allah without knowledge, nor guidance, nor an illuminating Book.
Research verse 31:20 →
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُوا۟ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
And when it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has sent down,” they say, “Rather, we follow that upon which we found our fathers.” Even if the Satan is calling them toward the correction of the Blaze?
Research verse 31:21 →
وَمَن يُسْلِمْ وَجْهَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَقَدِ ٱسْتَمْسَكَ بِٱلْعُرْوَةِ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْأُمُورِ
And whoever directs his face to Allah, while he is a doer of good, has indeed clung to the firmest bond; and to Allah belongs the outcome of all matters.
Research verse 31:22 →
وَمَن كَفَرَ فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ كُفْرُهُۥٓ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
And whoever covers [the truth]—so let not his covering grieve you. To Us is their return, then We will inform them of what they did. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of what is within the chests.
Research verse 31:23 →
نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ
We let them enjoy for a little while, then We drive them by compulsion into a harsh punishment.
Research verse 31:24 →
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
And if you were to ask them, “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they would surely say, “Allah.” Say, “Praise belongs to Allah”; but most of them do not know.
Research verse 31:25 →
لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ٱلْحَمِيدُ
To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth; indeed, Allah—He is the Self‑sufficient, the Praiseworthy.
Research verse 31:26 →
وَلَوْ أَنَّمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِن شَجَرَةٍ أَقْلَٰمٌ وَٱلْبَحْرُ يَمُدُّهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ سَبْعَةُ أَبْحُرٍ مَّا نَفِدَتْ كَلِمَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
And if whatever is on the earth, of tree, were pens, and the sea—extended by seven seas after it—[even then] the words of Allah would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allah is overpoweringly strong, all‑wise.
Research verse 31:27 →
مَّا خَلْقُكُمْ وَلَا بَعْثُكُمْ إِلَّا كَنَفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ بَصِيرٌ
Your bringing-into-being and your raising-up are nothing but like [that of] a single self. Indeed, Allah is Hearing, Seeing.
Research verse 31:28 →
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِىٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
Have you not seen that Allah makes the night enter into the day and makes the day enter into the night, and He has subjected the sun and the moon—each one runs until a specified term—and that Allah is fully aware of what you do?
Research verse 31:29 →
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ ٱلْبَٰطِلُ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
That is because Allah—He is the Reality, and because what they call upon apart from Him is the nullity, and because Allah—He is the Exalted, the Great.
Research verse 31:30 →
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱلْفُلْكَ تَجْرِى فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِنِعْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ لِيُرِيَكُم مِّنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ
Have you not seen that the ships run in the sea by Allah's favor, to show you some of His signs? Surely in that are signs for every one who greatly endures and greatly grateful.
Research verse 31:31 →
وَإِذَا غَشِيَهُم مَّوْجٌ كَٱلظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّىٰهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُم مُّقْتَصِدٌ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُورٍ
And when a wave covers them like overshadowings, they call upon Allah, devoting the judgment to Him alone; then when He rescues them to the dry land, among them is one who is balanced, while none repudiates Our signs except every excessive betrayer, stubbornly ungrateful.
Research verse 31:32 →
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ وَٱخْشَوْا۟ يَوْمًا لَّا يَجْزِى وَالِدٌ عَن وَلَدِهِۦ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَن وَالِدِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْغَرُورُ
O people, be wary of your Lord, and be apprehensive of a Day when no parent will recompense anything on behalf of his child, nor will a child—he being one who recompenses—recompense anything on behalf of his parent. Indeed, the appointment of Allah is a reality; so let not the lowly life delude you, and let not the Deluder delude you concerning Allah.
Research verse 31:33 →
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ ٱلْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌۢ بِأَىِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌۢ
Indeed, with Allah is the knowledge of the Hour; and He sends down the rain; and He knows what is in the wombs. And no self knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no self knows in which land it will die. Indeed, Allah is All‑Knowing, All‑Aware.
Research verse 31:34 →
