طسٓمٓ
Ṭā Sīn Mīm.
Research verse 28:1 →
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
Those are the signs of the clarifying Book.
Research verse 28:2 →
نَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْكَ مِن نَّبَإِ مُوسَىٰ وَفِرْعَوْنَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
We recount to you, from the account of Moses and Pharaoh, in truth, for a people who are willing to trust.
Research verse 28:3 →
إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ عَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهْلَهَا شِيَعًا يَسْتَضْعِفُ طَآئِفَةً مِّنْهُمْ يُذَبِّحُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَيَسْتَحْىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
Indeed, Pharaoh rose high in the land and made its people factions, weakening a group among them, slaughtering their sons and letting their women live. Indeed, he was among the corrupters.
Research verse 28:4 →
وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَنَجْعَلَهُمْ أَئِمَّةً وَنَجْعَلَهُمُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
And We intend to bestow (Our) favor upon those who were weakened in the land, and to make them leaders, and to make them the inheritors.
Research verse 28:5 →
وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَنُرِىَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَحْذَرُونَ
and so that We might firmly establish them in the land, and show Pharaoh and Haman and their forces, through them, that which they had been wary of.
Research verse 28:6 →
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَرْضِعِيهِ فَإِذَا خِفْتِ عَلَيْهِ فَأَلْقِيهِ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِى وَلَا تَحْزَنِىٓ إِنَّا رَآدُّوهُ إِلَيْكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
And We communicated by inspiration to the mother of Moses: “Nurse him; then when you fear for him, cast him into the sea, and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We are surely returning him to you and making him among the messengers.”
Research verse 28:7 →
فَٱلْتَقَطَهُۥٓ ءَالُ فِرْعَوْنَ لِيَكُونَ لَهُمْ عَدُوًّا وَحَزَنًا إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُوا۟ خَٰطِـِٔينَ
So the people of Pharaoh picked him up, that he might become for them an enemy and a source of grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their forces had been sinners.
Research verse 28:8 →
وَقَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ فِرْعَوْنَ قُرَّتُ عَيْنٍ لِّى وَلَكَ لَا تَقْتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
And the wife of Pharaoh said, “A coolness of the eye for me and for you. Do not kill him; it may be that he will benefit us, or we will take him as a child.” And they were not aware.
Research verse 28:9 →
وَأَصْبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَٰرِغًا إِن كَادَتْ لَتُبْدِى بِهِۦ لَوْلَآ أَن رَّبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قَلْبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And the inner-heart of Moses’ mother became emptied; she was indeed about to reveal him, were it not that We bound firmly upon her heart, so that she might be among the secure-in-faith.
Research verse 28:10 →
وَقَالَتْ لِأُخْتِهِۦ قُصِّيهِ فَبَصُرَتْ بِهِۦ عَن جُنُبٍ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
And she said to his sister, “Track him.” So she caught sight of him from a distance, while they were not aware.
Research verse 28:11 →
وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ ٱلْمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَكْفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُۥ نَٰصِحُونَ
And We had made the nursing women forbidden to him before, so she said, “Shall I direct you to a household who will take charge of him for you, while they are devotedly sincere to him?”
Research verse 28:12 →
فَرَدَدْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّهِۦ كَىْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَلِتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
So We returned him to his mother so that her eye might become settled and she not grieve, and so that she might know that the promise of Allah is true. But most of them do not know.
Research verse 28:13 →
وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَٱسْتَوَىٰٓ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
And when he reached his full strength and became well‑formed, We granted him discernment and knowledge; and thus We recompense the doers of good.
Research verse 28:14 →
وَدَخَلَ ٱلْمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ أَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَٰذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَٱسْتَغَٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِى مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِى مِنْ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوٌّ مُّضِلٌّ مُّبِينٌ
And he entered the city at a time of heedlessness on the part of its people, and he found in it two men fighting: this one from his group and this one from his enemy. Then the one from his group sought his help against the one from his enemy, so Moses jabbed him, then finished him off. He said, “This is from the work of Satan; indeed, he is an enemy, one who leads astray, clearly so.”
Research verse 28:15 →
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِى فَٱغْفِرْ لِى فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
He said, “My Lord, indeed I have wronged my own self, so cover [this] for me.” Then He covered it for him. Indeed, He — He is the Ever-Covering, the Ever-Merciful.
Research verse 28:16 →
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ
He said, “My Lord, by what You have bestowed upon me, I will never be a supporter of the criminals.”
Research verse 28:17 →
فَأَصْبَحَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ خَآئِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهُۥ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِىٌّ مُّبِينٌ
So he became in the city, fearful, on the lookout. Then suddenly, the one who had sought his help the day before was crying out to him, so Moses said to him, “You are indeed clearly misguided.”
Research verse 28:18 →
فَلَمَّآ أَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَبْطِشَ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقْتُلَنِى كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْسًۢا بِٱلْأَمْسِ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ
So when he wanted to seize the one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, “O Moses, do you want to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You want only to be a tyrannical overpowered-one in the land, and you do not want to be among the reformers.”

وَجَآءَ رَجُلٌ مِّنْ أَقْصَا ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱلْمَلَأَ يَأْتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِيَقْتُلُوكَ فَٱخْرُجْ إِنِّى لَكَ مِنَ ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ
And a man came from the farthest part of the city, hurrying. He said, “O Moses, indeed the chiefs are conspiring about you to kill you, so go out; indeed, I am to you among the sincere well‑wishers.”
Research verse 28:20 →
فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَآئِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِى مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
So he went out from it, fearful, on the lookout; he said, “My Lord, deliver me from the darkly‑wrongdoing people.”
Research verse 28:21 →
وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقَآءَ مَدْيَنَ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبِّىٓ أَن يَهْدِيَنِى سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ
And when he turned his face toward Madyan, he said, “It may be that my Lord will guide me to the even path.”
Research verse 28:22 →
وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَآءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةً مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمُ ٱمْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودَانِ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِى حَتَّىٰ يُصْدِرَ ٱلرِّعَآءُ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ
And when he came down to the water of Madyan, he found upon it a group from among the people giving drink, and he found, apart from them, two women holding back. He said, “What is your situation?” They said, “We do not give drink until the shepherds lead (their herds) away, and our father is an elderly old man.”
Research verse 28:23 →
فَسَقَىٰ لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلَّىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ إِلَىَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
So he watered for the two of them; then he turned aside toward the shade and said, “My Lord, indeed I am, with respect to whatever good You send down to me, in need.”
Research verse 28:24 →
فَجَآءَتْهُ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا تَمْشِى عَلَى ٱسْتِحْيَآءٍ قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِى يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَا فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُۥ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَصَصَ قَالَ لَا تَخَفْ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Then one of the two came to him, walking in a state of modest reserve. She said, “Indeed, my father is calling you, to recompense you with the wage for what you watered for us.” So when he came to him and related to him the account, he said, “Do not fear; you have escaped from the wrongdoing people.”
Research verse 28:25 →
قَالَتْ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱسْتَـْٔجِرْهُ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ ٱسْتَـْٔجَرْتَ ٱلْقَوِىُّ ٱلْأَمِينُ
One of the two said, “O my father, employ him; indeed, the best of whoever you employ is the strong, the trustworthy.”
Research verse 28:26 →
قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ٱبْنَتَىَّ هَٰتَيْنِ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تَأْجُرَنِى ثَمَٰنِىَ حِجَجٍ فَإِنْ أَتْمَمْتَ عَشْرًا فَمِنْ عِندِكَ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
He said, “Indeed, I intend to give you in marriage one of these two daughters of mine, on condition that you work for me for eight years; but if you complete ten, that will be from your own side. And I do not intend to burden you; you will find me, if Allah wills, among the righteous.”
Research verse 28:27 →
قَالَ ذَٰلِكَ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكَ أَيَّمَا ٱلْأَجَلَيْنِ قَضَيْتُ فَلَا عُدْوَٰنَ عَلَىَّ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ
He said, “That is between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I bring to completion, then there is no transgression against me; and Allah, over what we say, is a trustee (one entrusted with full charge).”
Research verse 28:28 →
فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلْأَجَلَ وَسَارَ بِأَهْلِهِۦٓ ءَانَسَ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ نَارًا قَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ ٱمْكُثُوٓا۟ إِنِّىٓ ءَانَسْتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ جَذْوَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ
Then, when Moses had completed the term and set out with his family, he perceived, from the side of the Mount, a fire. He said to his family, “Stay where you are; I have indeed perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from it some information, or a live ember from the fire, so that you may warm yourselves.”
Research verse 28:29 →
فَلَمَّآ أَتَىٰهَا نُودِىَ مِن شَٰطِئِ ٱلْوَادِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ فِى ٱلْبُقْعَةِ ٱلْمُبَٰرَكَةِ مِنَ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ أَن يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Then when he came to it, he was called from the right bank of the valley, in the blessed spot, from the tree: “O Moses, indeed I — I am Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
Research verse 28:30 →
وَأَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْـَٔامِنِينَ
“And: ‘Throw down your staff.’ Then when he saw it shaking, as though it were a slithering creature, he turned away, retreating, and did not turn back. ‘O Moses, come forward and do not fear; indeed, you are among the secure.’”
Research verse 28:31 →
ٱسْلُكْ يَدَكَ فِى جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَآءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوٓءٍ وَٱضْمُمْ إِلَيْكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ ٱلرَّهْبِ فَذَٰنِكَ بُرْهَٰنَانِ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦٓ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَٰسِقِينَ
Insert your hand into your opening; it will come out white, without any harm. And draw your wing to yourself, away from fear. So those two are proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs; indeed, they had been a people who break away.
Research verse 28:32 →
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى قَتَلْتُ مِنْهُمْ نَفْسًا فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
He said, “My Lord, indeed I have killed a living soul from among them, so I fear that they will kill me.”
Research verse 28:33 →
وَأَخِى هَٰرُونُ هُوَ أَفْصَحُ مِنِّى لِسَانًا فَأَرْسِلْهُ مَعِىَ رِدْءًا يُصَدِّقُنِىٓ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
And my brother, Aaron—he is clearer than I in tongue; so send him with me as a support, confirming me. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me.
Research verse 28:34 →
قَالَ سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِأَخِيكَ وَنَجْعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلْطَٰنًا فَلَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَيْكُمَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أَنتُمَا وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكُمَا ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ
He said, “We will indeed reinforce your upper arm by means of your brother, and We will assign for you two an authority, so they will not reach you two. By Our signs, you two and whoever follows you will be the ones who prevail.”
Research verse 28:35 →
فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ قَالُوا۟ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّفْتَرًى وَمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
So when Moses came to them with Our signs, as clear ones, they said, “This is nothing but fabricated magic, and we have not heard of this among our earliest forefathers.”
Research verse 28:36 →
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن جَآءَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ مِنْ عِندِهِۦ وَمَن تَكُونُ لَهُۥ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلدَّارِ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
And Moses said, “My Lord is most knowing of who has come with the guidance from His presence, and of who will have the outcome of the abode. Indeed, the wrongdoers do not attain success.”
Research verse 28:37 →
وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَأُ مَا عَلِمْتُ لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرِى فَأَوْقِدْ لِى يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلطِّينِ فَٱجْعَل لِّى صَرْحًا لَّعَلِّىٓ أَطَّلِعُ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّى لَأَظُنُّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
And Pharaoh said, “O assembly, I have not known for you any god other than myself. So kindle for me, Haman, upon the clay, then make for me a lofty structure, so that I might ascend toward the god of Moses; and indeed I surely think him to be among the liars.”
Research verse 28:38 →
وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا يُرْجَعُونَ
And he and his forces waxed arrogant in the land without any right, and they were convinced that they would not be returned to Us.
Research verse 28:39 →
فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
So We seized him and his forces, then We cast them into the sea. So look how the outcome of the wrongdoers was.
Research verse 28:40 →
وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَدْعُونَ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ لَا يُنصَرُونَ
And We made them leaders who call toward the Fire, and on the Day of Standing they will not be given help.
Research verse 28:41 →
وَأَتْبَعْنَٰهُمْ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ هُم مِّنَ ٱلْمَقْبُوحِينَ
And We made to follow them, in this present life, a curse; and on the Day of Standing they will be among the ones repelled with disgust.
Research verse 28:42 →
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْقُرُونَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ بَصَآئِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
And indeed We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had caused the former generations to perish, as clear insights for the people, and as guidance and mercy, so that they might remember.
Research verse 28:43 →
وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلْغَرْبِىِّ إِذْ قَضَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلْأَمْرَ وَمَا كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
And you were not on the western side when We settled the matter to Moses, and you were not among the witnesses.
Research verse 28:44 →
وَلَٰكِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَا قُرُونًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْعُمُرُ وَمَا كُنتَ ثَاوِيًا فِىٓ أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ تَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
But We brought into being generations, and the lifespan grew long upon them; and you were not dwelling among the people of Madyan, reciting Our signs to them — but We have always been senders.
Research verse 28:45 →
وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ إِذْ نَادَيْنَا وَلَٰكِن رَّحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
And you were not at the side of the Mount when We called out; rather, it is a mercy from your Lord, so that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you, so that they might remember.
Research verse 28:46 →
وَلَوْلَآ أَن تُصِيبَهُم مُّصِيبَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لَوْلَآ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And were it not that a calamity would strike them for what their hands have sent ahead, and then they would say, “Our Lord, if only You had sent to us a messenger, then we would have followed Your signs and been among the believers.”
Research verse 28:47 →
فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِنْ عِندِنَا قَالُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُوتِىَ مِثْلَ مَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ قَالُوا۟ سِحْرَانِ تَظَٰهَرَا وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِكُلٍّ كَٰفِرُونَ
So when the truth came to them from Us, they said, “Why has he not been given the like of what was given to Moses?” Did they not already reject what had been given to Moses before? They said, “Two magics that support one another,” and they said, “Indeed, we are rejecters of every one (of them).”
Research verse 28:48 →
قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَٰبٍ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمَآ أَتَّبِعْهُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Say, “Then bring a writing from alongside Allah that is more guiding than these two, [and] I will follow it, if you are truthful.”
Research verse 28:49 →
فَإِن لَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَكَ فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُونَ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدًى مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
So if they do not respond to you, then know that they are only following their own desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without any guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
Research verse 28:50 →
وَلَقَدْ وَصَّلْنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
And We have indeed connected the statement for them, so that they might remember.
Research verse 28:51 →
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ هُم بِهِۦ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Those to whom We gave the Book before it – they, in it, are trusting.
Research verse 28:52 →
وَإِذَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مُسْلِمِينَ
And when it is recited to them, they say, “We have trusted in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed, we were, before it, ones who submit.”
Research verse 28:53 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُؤْتَوْنَ أَجْرَهُم مَّرَّتَيْنِ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
Those – they are given their reward twice because they endured, and they repel the bad with the good, and from what We have provided them they spend.
Research verse 28:54 →
وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱللَّغْوَ أَعْرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ لَنَآ أَعْمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا نَبْتَغِى ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ
And when they hear the idle talk, they turn away from it and say, “For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. Peace be upon you; we do not seek (the company or way) of the ignorant.”
Research verse 28:55 →
إِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِى مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
Indeed, you do not guide whomever you love; but Allah guides whomever He wills, and He is most knowing of those who are guided.
Research verse 28:56 →
وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِن نَّتَّبِعِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنْ أَرْضِنَآ أَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمْ حَرَمًا ءَامِنًا يُجْبَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ ثَمَرَٰتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ رِّزْقًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
And they said, “If we follow the guidance with you, we will be snatched away from our land.” But did We not firmly establish for them a secure inviolable-place, to which are brought the fruits of every kind of thing, as provision from Us? But most of them do not know.
Research verse 28:57 →
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍۭ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا فَتِلْكَ مَسَٰكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَن مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
And how many a town We destroyed that exulted in its livelihood; so those are their dwellings – they have not been inhabited after them except a little, and We were the inheritors.
Research verse 28:58 →
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ يَبْعَثَ فِىٓ أُمِّهَا رَسُولًا يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَمَا كُنَّا مُهْلِكِى ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ إِلَّا وَأَهْلُهَا ظَٰلِمُونَ
And your Lord was not one to destroy the towns until He had raised up in their principal one a messenger, reciting Our signs to them; and We were not destroyers of the towns except while their people were wrongdoers.
Research verse 28:59 →
وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَىْءٍ فَمَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتُهَا وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
And whatever you have been given of anything is [but] a utility of the lowly life and its adornment; while what is with God is better and more enduring. Will you not then use your reason?
Research verse 28:60 →
أَفَمَن وَعَدْنَٰهُ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ لَٰقِيهِ كَمَن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُ مَتَٰعَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
So is one whom We have promised a good promise, and he is one who will meet it, like one whom We have given enjoyment of the enjoyment of the lowly life, then he, on the Day of Standing, is among those who are brought forth?
Research verse 28:61 →
وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ
And [remember] the Day He will call them, then He will say, “Where are My associates that you used to claim?”
Research verse 28:62 →
قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَوْلُ رَبَّنَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَغْوَيْنَآ أَغْوَيْنَٰهُمْ كَمَا غَوَيْنَا تَبَرَّأْنَآ إِلَيْكَ مَا كَانُوٓا۟ إِيَّانَا يَعْبُدُونَ
Those upon whom the word has become binding will say, “Our Lord, these are the ones we caused to stray; we caused them to stray just as we ourselves strayed. We have disowned [ourselves] before You; they were not serving us.”
Research verse 28:63 →
وَقِيلَ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَهْتَدُونَ
And it will be said, “Call upon your partners.” So they will call upon them, but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had been guided!
Research verse 28:64 →
وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَآ أَجَبْتُمُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
And the Day He calls them, then He will say, “What did you answer the envoys?”
Research verse 28:65 →
فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَهُمْ لَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
So the reports will be blinded to them on that Day, and so they will not question one another.
Research verse 28:66 →
فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُفْلِحِينَ
So as for whoever turned back, and trusted, and did what is sound, it may be that he will be among the successful.
Research verse 28:67 →
وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيَخْتَارُ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ ٱلْخِيَرَةُ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
And your Lord creates whatever He wills and selects; the choosing is not for them. Glory be to Allah, and He is exalted above what they join [with Him].
Research verse 28:68 →
وَرَبُّكَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ
And your Lord knows what their chests conceal and what they make public.
Research verse 28:69 →
وَهُوَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِى ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَهُ ٱلْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
And He is Allah—there is no god except Him. To Him belongs the praise in the first and the later, and to Him belongs the judgment, and to Him you are returned.
Research verse 28:70 →
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِضِيَآءٍ أَفَلَا تَسْمَعُونَ
Say, “Have you considered: if Allah were to make the night continuous upon you until the Day of Resurrection, what god, other than Allah, could come to you with radiance? Will you then not listen?”
Research verse 28:71 →
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلنَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
Say, “Have you considered: if Allah were to make the daytime over you continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what god, other than Allah, could come to you with a night in which you become still and settle down? Will you then not perceive?”
Research verse 28:72 →
وَمِن رَّحْمَتِهِۦ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوا۟ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
And from His mercy He has made for you the night and the day, so that you may come to rest in it, and so that you may seek of His bounty, and so that you might show gratitude.
Research verse 28:73 →
وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ
And on the Day He will call them, then He will say, “Where are My associates that you used to claim?”
Research verse 28:74 →
وَنَزَعْنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا فَقُلْنَا هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ فَعَلِمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلْحَقَّ لِلَّهِ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
And We pulled out from every community a witness, then We said, “Bring your proof,” so they realized that the truth belongs to God, and what they had been fabricating strayed away from them.
Research verse 28:75 →
إِنَّ قَٰرُونَ كَانَ مِن قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰ فَبَغَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْكُنُوزِ مَآ إِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهُۥ لَتَنُوٓأُ بِٱلْعُصْبَةِ أُو۟لِى ٱلْقُوَّةِ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ لَا تَفْرَحْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْفَرِحِينَ
Qarun was indeed from the people of Moses, then he transgressed against them. And We gave him, of the treasures, that whose very keys would surely weigh down a band, possessors of strength. When his people said to him, “Do not exult; indeed, Allah does not love those who exult.”
Research verse 28:76 →
وَٱبْتَغِ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰكَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَأَحْسِن كَمَآ أَحْسَنَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ وَلَا تَبْغِ ٱلْفَسَادَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
And seek, by means of what Allah has given you, the abode of the Hereafter; and do not forget your set share of this nearer life. And excel in doing good as Allah has excelled in doing good to you; and do not seek the corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not love the corrupters.
Research verse 28:77 →
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِندِىٓ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا وَلَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
He said, “I was only given it on account of knowledge I possess.” Did he then not know that Allah had already destroyed, before him, from the generations those who were stronger than him in power and more abundant in gathered (wealth)? And the criminals are not asked about their sins.
Research verse 28:78 →
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فِى زِينَتِهِۦ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا يَٰلَيْتَ لَنَا مِثْلَ مَآ أُوتِىَ قَٰرُونُ إِنَّهُۥ لَذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ
So he went out against his people in his finery. Those who want the nearer life said, “If only we had the like of what Qarun has been given; he is indeed one possessing a tremendous share.”
Research verse 28:79 →
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنْ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا وَلَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ
But those who had been given knowledge said, "Woe to you! The requital of Allah is better for whoever has believed and done what is sound; and none are made to encounter it except those who endure."
Research verse 28:80 →
فَخَسَفْنَا بِهِۦ وَبِدَارِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُۥ مِن فِئَةٍ يَنصُرُونَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنتَصِرِينَ
So We caved in the earth with him and his dwelling; and he had no group to help him apart from Allah, and he was not among those who could help themselves.
Research verse 28:81 →
وَأَصْبَحَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا۟ مَكَانَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُ لَوْلَآ أَن مَّنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا وَيْكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
And those who had wished for his position the day before began to say, “Alas, indeed Allah outspreads provision for whom He wills among His servants and measures it out. Had Allah not shown favor to us, He would have made it sink down with us. Alas, indeed the deniers do not succeed.”
Research verse 28:82 →
تِلْكَ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ نَجْعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوًّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فَسَادًا وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
That is the final abode which We assign to those who do not desire elevation in the land nor corruption, and the outcome is for those who are mindful (of God).
Research verse 28:83 →
مَن جَآءَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهَا وَمَن جَآءَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَى ٱلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Whoever comes with the good [deed]—then for him is better than it; and whoever comes with the bad [deed]—then those who did the bad deeds will not be recompensed except for what they used to do.
Research verse 28:84 →
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِى فَرَضَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لَرَآدُّكَ إِلَىٰ مَعَادٍ قُل رَّبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ مَن جَآءَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ وَمَنْ هُوَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
Indeed, the One who has prescribed the Qur’an upon you will surely return you to a place/time of return. Say, “My Lord knows best who has come with the guidance and who is in obvious misguidance.”
Research verse 28:85 →
وَمَا كُنتَ تَرْجُوٓا۟ أَن يُلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And you were not expecting that the Book would be cast toward you; it is only a mercy from your Lord. So do not be a supporter for the deniers.
Research verse 28:86 →
وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أُنزِلَتْ إِلَيْكَ وَٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
And let them not turn you away from the signs of God after they have been sent down to you; and call to your Lord, and do not be among those who join [others] with Him.
Research verse 28:87 →
وَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ كُلُّ شَىْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُۥ لَهُ ٱلْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
And do not call, along with Allah, another god. There is no god except Him. Every thing is perishing, except His face. His is the judgment, and to Him you are returned.
Research verse 28:88 →
