وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
And by the sun and its forenoon brightness,
Research verse 91:1 →
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
And by the moon when it follows her
Research verse 91:2 →
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
And by the day when it unveils her
Research verse 91:3 →
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا
And by the night when it covers her.
Research verse 91:4 →
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
And by the sky and what built it,
Research verse 91:5 →
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا
And by the earth and what has spread it out
Research verse 91:6 →
وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا
And by a soul, and what made it well‑balanced,
Research verse 91:7 →
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
then He inspired it with its bursting‑out (into excess) and its restraint (in cautious fear).
Research verse 91:8 →
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
Indeed, he has succeeded who causes it to be pure.
Research verse 91:9 →
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا
And indeed, he has lost who buries it down.
Research verse 91:10 →
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ
Thamud cried lies because of its excess.
Research verse 91:11 →
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا
when its most wretched one surged forth
Research verse 91:12 →
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا
So the messenger of Allah said to them, “(Respect) the she-camel of Allah and her turn of drink.”
Research verse 91:13 →
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
Then they denied him and so they hamstrung her; then their Lord overwhelmed them for their tail‑[sin], and so He made it level.
Research verse 91:14 →
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا
And He does not fear its outcome.
