وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
By the sky and the night‑visitor,
Research verse 86:1 →
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
And what has made you realize what the night-visitor is?
Research verse 86:2 →
ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
the star, the penetrating one
Research verse 86:3 →
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
Indeed, every soul is nothing but one that has over it a keeper.
Research verse 86:4 →
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
So let the human being look into what he was created from.
Research verse 86:5 →
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
He was created from a gushing fluid,
Research verse 86:6 →
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
emerging from between the backbone and the chest-bones.
Research verse 86:7 →
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
Indeed, He is surely capable over his return.
Research verse 86:8 →
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
On the Day when the hidden things are put to the test,
Research verse 86:9 →
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
then he will have no strength, nor any helper.
Research verse 86:10 →
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
And by the sky, possessor of the recurrent return,
Research verse 86:11 →
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
And by the earth, possessor of the split.
Research verse 86:12 →
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
Indeed, it is surely a speech of decisive separation.
Research verse 86:13 →
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
And it is not in jest.
Research verse 86:14 →
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
Indeed, they are plotting a plot,
Research verse 86:15 →
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
and I too devise a devising.
Research verse 86:16 →
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
So grant the concealers of truth a respite; give them a little while.
