إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
When the sun is rolled up,
Research verse 81:1 →
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ
And when the stars are knotted up / clustered together,
Research verse 81:2 →
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
And when the mountains are set in motion,
Research verse 81:3 →
وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
And when the pregnant she-camels are left idle,
Research verse 81:4 →
وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
And when the wild creatures are gathered together
Research verse 81:5 →
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
And when the seas are set ablaze
Research verse 81:6 →
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
And when the selves are paired together
Research verse 81:7 →
وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ
And when the buried‑alive girl is questioned
Research verse 81:8 →
بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ
for what offense she was killed
Research verse 81:9 →
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
And when the scriptures are spread out
Research verse 81:10 →
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
And when the sky is flayed off
Research verse 81:11 →
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
And when the Blaze is ignited
Research verse 81:12 →
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
And when the Garden is brought near,
Research verse 81:13 →
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ
Every soul will know what it has made present.
Research verse 81:14 →
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
So no indeed, I swear by the retreating ones,
Research verse 81:15 →
ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
by the coursing ones, that withdraw into concealment,
Research verse 81:16 →
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
And by the night when it thickens on
Research verse 81:17 →
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
and by the morning when it draws breath,
Research verse 81:18 →
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
Indeed, it is surely the saying of a noble messenger,

ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
endowed with strength, in the presence of the Possessor of the Throne, firmly established,
Research verse 81:20 →
مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
Obeyed there, trustworthy.
Research verse 81:21 →
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ
And your companion is not possessed by madness.
Research verse 81:22 →
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
And indeed, he surely saw him at the manifest horizon.
Research verse 81:23 →
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
And he is not, regarding the unseen, stingy.
Research verse 81:24 →
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
And it is not the speech of any accursed devil.
Research verse 81:25 →
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
So where are you going?
Research verse 81:26 →
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
It is nothing but a reminder for all beings.
Research verse 81:27 →
لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
for whoever among you wills to be upright.
Research verse 81:28 →
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And you do not will, except that Allah wills — the Lord of all realms.
