وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ غَرْقًا
And by those who pull out [plunging] deeply,
Research verse 79:1 →
وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشْطًا
and by those that unfasten with unfastening,
Research verse 79:2 →
وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبْحًا
and by those devoted to glorification, in (their) glorifying,
Research verse 79:3 →
فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ سَبْقًا
and so, those who advance ahead with advancing
Research verse 79:4 →
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
and so, those who manage the affair in an ordered way,
Research verse 79:5 →
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
On the Day the quaking one quakes,
Research verse 79:6 →
تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
it will be followed by the one that comes after it
Research verse 79:7 →
قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
Hearts, on that Day, will be quaking.
Research verse 79:8 →
أَبْصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٌ
Their sights will be humbled.
Research verse 79:9 →
يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
They say, “Shall we indeed be returned into the excavation?”
Research verse 79:10 →
أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
“Is it when we have become bones, decayed?”
Research verse 79:11 →
قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
They said, “That, then, is a losing return.”
Research verse 79:12 →
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
So it is but a single driving‑call.
Research verse 79:13 →
فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
then, all at once, they are upon the wakeful ground.
Research verse 79:14 →
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
Has the account of Moses come to you?
Research verse 79:15 →
إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
when his Lord called to him in the sanctified valley, Tuwa,
Research verse 79:16 →
ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
Go to Pharaoh; indeed, he has exceeded all bounds.
Research verse 79:17 →
فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
So say, “Do you have any inclination toward becoming purified?”
Research verse 79:18 →
وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
and that I guide you to your Lord so you would be in awe.
Research verse 79:19 →
فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
So he showed him the greatest sign.
Research verse 79:20 →
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
But he denied and defied.
Research verse 79:21 →
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
Then he turned his back, hurrying.
Research verse 79:22 →
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
So he gathered [them] and proclaimed aloud,
Research verse 79:23 →
فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
So he said, “I am your Lord, the highest.”
Research verse 79:24 →
فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
So Allah seized him as a deterrent for the later and the earlier.
Research verse 79:25 →
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
Indeed, in that is surely a lesson for whoever is apprehensive.
Research verse 79:26 →
ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ بَنَىٰهَا
Are you tougher in creation, or the sky? He built it.
Research verse 79:27 →
رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
He raised its canopy and then made it well‑leveled.
Research verse 79:28 →
وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
And He dimmed its night and brought out its forenoon light.
Research verse 79:29 →
وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
And the earth, after that, He spread it out.
Research verse 79:30 →
أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
He brought out from it its water and its pasture.
Research verse 79:31 →
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
And the mountains, He anchored them.
Research verse 79:32 →
مَتَٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ
As an enjoyment for you and for your livestock.
Research verse 79:33 →
فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
Then when the greatest shattering [event] comes,
Research verse 79:34 →
يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
the Day when the human being recollects what he strove for
Research verse 79:35 →
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
and the Blaze will be brought forth, visible to whoever can see,
Research verse 79:36 →
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
So as for the one who overstepped all bounds
Research verse 79:37 →
وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
and gave precedence to the nearer life.
Research verse 79:38 →
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
then indeed, the Blaze is the shelter.
Research verse 79:39 →
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
And as for whoever feared the standing of his Lord and restrained the self from desire,
Research verse 79:40 →
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
then indeed the Garden is the shelter.
Research verse 79:41 →
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
They ask you about the Hour: “At what time is its anchoring?”
Research verse 79:42 →
فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
In what [concern] are you, with regard to its reminder?
Research verse 79:43 →
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
To your Lord is its utmost limit.
Research verse 79:44 →
إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
You are only a warner for whoever fears it.
Research verse 79:45 →
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا
As though, on the Day they see it, they had not stayed except for an evening or its forenoon.
