هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ حِينٌ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًٔا مَّذْكُورًا
Has there come upon the human a stretch of the enduring time when he was not a thing mentioned?
Research verse 76:1 →
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا
Indeed, We created the human being from a drop of mingled fluid, in order that We test him; so We made him hearing, seeing.
Research verse 76:2 →
إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا
Indeed, We have guided him to the path: [so that he becomes] either one who is grateful or one who is intensely ungrateful.
Research verse 76:3 →
إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا
Indeed, We have made ready for the concealers [of the truth] chains and shackles and a blazing fire.
Research verse 76:4 →
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا
Indeed, the devotedly good will drink from a cup whose blend has been camphor.
Research verse 76:5 →
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا
A spring from which the servants of Allah drink; they make it burst forth in [full] bursting.
Research verse 76:6 →
يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًا
They fulfill the vow, and they fear a Day whose evil has been spreading far and wide.
Research verse 76:7 →
وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا
And they give food, despite [their] love for it, to one in hardship, and an orphan, and one who is bound.
Research verse 76:8 →
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا
“We only feed you for the sake of Allah’s presence; we do not seek from you any recompense nor any gratitude.”
Research verse 76:9 →
إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا
Indeed, we fear from our Lord a Day [that is] grim, intensely harsh.
Research verse 76:10 →
فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا
So Allah shielded them from the evil of that Day, and He made them meet with freshness of face and inner joy.
Research verse 76:11 →
وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا
And He rewarded them, for how they endured, with a garden and silk.
Research verse 76:12 →
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا
Reclining therein upon the couches; they do not see therein sun, nor biting cold.
Research verse 76:13 →
وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا
And its shades will be close over them, and its clusters will be made fully easy to pick.
Research verse 76:14 →
وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠
And there will be carried around them vessels of silver, and cups that were (like) crystal.
Research verse 76:15 →
قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا
Vessels, from silver, which they have precisely measured in full measure.
Research verse 76:16 →
وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا
And they are given to drink therein a cup whose mixture had been ginger.
Research verse 76:17 →
عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا
a spring therein, called “Salsabeel”.
Research verse 76:18 →
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا
And there circulate around them ever-lasting youths; when you see them, you would reckon them to be scattered pearls.
Research verse 76:19 →
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا
And when you look there, you will see delight and a great dominion.
Research verse 76:20 →
عَٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا
Above them are garments of fine silk, green, and brocade; and they have been adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord has given them to drink a purifying drink.
Research verse 76:21 →
إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا
Indeed, this has been for you a recompense, and your striving has been rewarded.
Research verse 76:22 →
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًا
Indeed, it is We — We who have sent down the Qur’an upon you as a sending-down.
Research verse 76:23 →
فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا
So endure for the judgment of your Lord, and do not obey, from among them, anyone sinful or excessively ungrateful.
Research verse 76:24 →
وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
And remember the name of your Lord, morning and late in the day,
Research verse 76:25 →
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا
And from the night, then prostrate to Him, and glorify Him through a long stretch of the night.
Research verse 76:26 →
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا
Indeed, these love the hasty [world] and leave behind them a heavy Day.
Research verse 76:27 →
نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا
We created them and reinforced their binding; and whenever We will, We replace them with others like them, a complete replacing.
Research verse 76:28 →
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا
Indeed, this is a reminder; so whoever wills may adopt a way towards his Lord.
Research verse 76:29 →
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
And you do not will, except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah has always been all-knowing, all-wise.
Research verse 76:30 →
يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ وَٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا
He admits whomever He wills into His mercy, and as for the wrongdoers, He has made ready for them a painful punishment.
