لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
No, I swear by the Day of Standing‑up.
Research verse 75:1 →
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
And [indeed] I swear by the self that constantly reproaches.
Research verse 75:2 →
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
Does the human being reckon that We will not gather his bones?
Research verse 75:3 →
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
Yes indeed — [We are] fully able to make his fingertips equalized.
Research verse 75:4 →
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
No! Rather, the human wants to burst out (into excess) ahead of himself.
Research verse 75:5 →
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
He asks, “When is the Day of Standing‑up?”
Research verse 75:6 →
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
Then when the sight flashes,
Research verse 75:7 →
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
and the moon is made to sink down
Research verse 75:8 →
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
and the sun and the moon are gathered together,
Research verse 75:9 →
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
The human will say on that Day, “Where is the escape?”
Research verse 75:10 →
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
No indeed—no stronghold.
Research verse 75:11 →
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
To your Lord, that Day, is the settlement.
Research verse 75:12 →
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
The human will be informed on that Day about what he brought forward and what he left behind.
Research verse 75:13 →
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
No indeed; the human is, over his own self, a perceiving insight.
Research verse 75:14 →
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
even if he throws out his excuses.
Research verse 75:15 →
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
Do not move your tongue with it in order to hasten with it.
Research verse 75:16 →
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
Indeed, upon Us is its gathering and its recitation.
Research verse 75:17 →
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
So when We have recited it, then follow its recitation.
Research verse 75:18 →
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
Then indeed, upon Us is its making-clear.
Research verse 75:19 →
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
No! Rather, you love the hasty [world].
Research verse 75:20 →
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
and you abandon the later [life].
Research verse 75:21 →
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
Faces, that Day, will be luxuriant.
Research verse 75:22 →
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
gazing toward its Lord.
Research verse 75:23 →
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
And [other] faces, that Day, will be grim.
Research verse 75:24 →
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
expecting that a shattering blow will be dealt to it.
Research verse 75:25 →
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
No indeed, when it reaches the collarbones,
Research verse 75:26 →
وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ
and it is said, “Who is a spell‑chanter?”
Research verse 75:27 →
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
and he is convinced that it is the separation.
Research verse 75:28 →
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
and the shank is entwined with the shank,
Research verse 75:29 →
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
To your Lord, on that Day, is the driving.
Research verse 75:30 →
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
So he neither affirmed as true, nor performed the prayer.
Research verse 75:31 →
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
But rather, he denied and turned away.
Research verse 75:32 →
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
Then he went to his people, striding along.
Research verse 75:33 →
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
Nearer to you, so nearer,
Research verse 75:34 →
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
Then it is nearer to you, and nearer!
Research verse 75:35 →
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
Does the human reckon that he will be left thrown aside?
Research verse 75:36 →
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
Was he not a drop from seminal fluid that is poured forth,
Research verse 75:37 →
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
Then he was a clinging clot; then He created and then proportioned.
Research verse 75:38 →
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
then He made from it the two paired ones: the male and the female.

أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
Is not that One fully capable of giving life to the dead?
Research verse 75:40 →
