قُلْ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْءَانًا عَجَبًا
Say, “It has been communicated to me by revelation that a band from among the jinn listened attentively, then they said, ‘We have indeed heard a wondrous Recital.’”
Research verse 72:1 →
يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلرُّشْدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدًا
It guides to sound right-mindedness, so we have trusted in it, and we will never join anyone with our Lord.
Research verse 72:2 →
وَأَنَّهُۥ تَعَٰلَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ٱتَّخَذَ صَٰحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا
And that exalted is the majesty of our Lord: He has not taken a female companion nor a child.
Research verse 72:3 →
وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ شَطَطًا
And that our foolish one used to say outrageous (things) about Allah.
Research verse 72:4 →
وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن تَقُولَ ٱلْإِنسُ وَٱلْجِنُّ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا
And we had supposed that humankind and the jinn would never say a falsehood against Allah.
Research verse 72:5 →
وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِّنَ ٱلْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًا
And that men from among humankind used to seek refuge with men from among the jinn, so they increased them only in overbearing excess.
Research verse 72:6 →
وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا۟ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدًا
And that they supposed, just as you supposed, that Allah would never raise anyone.
Research verse 72:7 →
وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدْنَٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِيدًا وَشُهُبًا
And that we touched the sky, then we found it filled with intense guards and shooting flames.
Research verse 72:8 →
وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَٰعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ ٱلْـَٔانَ يَجِدْ لَهُۥ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًا
And we used to sit therein at positions for listening; so whoever listens now finds for him a shooting‑flame lying in wait.
Research verse 72:9 →
وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِىٓ أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًا
And we do not know whether evil has been intended for whoever is in the earth, or whether their Lord has intended for them right guidance.
Research verse 72:10 →
وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ كُنَّا طَرَآئِقَ قِدَدًا
And that among us are the righteous, and among us are below that; we have been paths, cut apart.
Research verse 72:11 →
وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعْجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُۥ هَرَبًا
And we supposed that we would never render Allah incapable on the earth, nor would we ever render Him incapable by fleeing.
Research verse 72:12 →
وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ فَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِرَبِّهِۦ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًا وَلَا رَهَقًا
And when we heard the guidance, we trusted in it; so whoever trusts in his Lord will not fear any loss nor any overwhelming (pressure).
Research verse 72:13 →
وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا۟ رَشَدًا
And that among us are the ones who have yielded [to God], and among us are the ones who deviate from justice; so whoever yields [to God]—then those are the ones who have aimed for sound guidance.
Research verse 72:14 →
وَأَمَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا۟ لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا
And as for those who deviate from justice, they have been firewood for Hell.
Research verse 72:15 →
وَأَلَّوِ ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَٰهُم مَّآءً غَدَقًا
And that, if they had stood firm upon the path, We would surely have given them to drink abundant water,
Research verse 72:16 →
لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ وَمَن يُعْرِضْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِۦ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًا
so that We may test them by it; and whoever turns away from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter a torment of steep ascent.
Research verse 72:17 →
وَأَنَّ ٱلْمَسَٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدًا
And that the places of prostration are for Allah, so do not call upon anyone along with Allah.
Research verse 72:18 →
وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا۟ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا
And that when the servant of Allah stood up, calling upon Him, they almost became, over him, piled up in layers.
Research verse 72:19 →
قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى وَلَآ أُشْرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا
Say, “I only call upon my Lord, and I do not join anyone with Him.”
Research verse 72:20 →
قُلْ إِنِّى لَآ أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا رَشَدًا
Say, “Indeed, I do not control for you harm, nor [do I control] sound judgment.”
Research verse 72:21 →
قُلْ إِنِّى لَن يُجِيرَنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مُلْتَحَدًا
Say, “Indeed, no one will ever grant me protection from Allah, and I will never find, apart from Him, any refuge.”
Research verse 72:22 →
إِلَّا بَلَٰغًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَٰلَٰتِهِۦ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا
[I have no task] except a conveying from Allah and His messages. And whoever defies Allah and His messenger, then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell, remaining therein forever.
Research verse 72:23 →
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًا
Until, when they see what they are being promised, then they will know who is weaker in [having] a helper and fewer in number.
Research verse 72:24 →
قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّىٓ أَمَدًا
Say, “I do not know whether what you are promised is near, or whether my Lord will set for it a term.”
Research verse 72:25 →
عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا
Knower of the hidden, so He does not make anyone see/aware of His hidden (realm).
Research verse 72:26 →
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٍ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَسْلُكُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ رَصَدًا
except one from among a messenger whom He has approved; then indeed He inserts, before him and behind him, watchers in ambush.
Research verse 72:27 →
لِّيَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا۟ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَىٰ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عَدَدًۢا
So that He may know that they have indeed conveyed the messages of their Lord, and He has encompassed whatever is with them, and has counted every thing in (its) number.
