ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ
The All-Merciful
Research verse 55:1 →
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
He taught the Qur’an,
Research verse 55:2 →
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ
He created the human being,
Research verse 55:3 →
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ
He taught him the clarification.
Research verse 55:4 →
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
The sun and the moon are by a reckoning.
Research verse 55:5 →
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
And the star and the tree both *yasjudāni*.
Research verse 55:6 →
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
And the sky—He raised it, and He set down the balance.
Research verse 55:7 →
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ
so that you do not exceed bounds in the balance,
Research verse 55:8 →
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
And uphold the weighing with justice, and do not cause loss to the balance.
Research verse 55:9 →
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
And the earth, He set it down for the beings.
Research verse 55:10 →
فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ
In it are fruit, and date‑palms possessing sheaths.
Research verse 55:11 →
وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ
And the grain, possessor of straw, and the sweet provision.
Research verse 55:12 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the powers and beneficent acts of your Lord will you deny as false?
Research verse 55:13 →
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ
He created the human being from a ringing clay, like earthenware.
Research verse 55:14 →
وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
And He created the jinn from a mingling out of fire.
Research verse 55:15 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:16 →
رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ
Lord of the two eastings and Lord of the two westings
Research verse 55:17 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the endowments of your Lord will you two treat as a lie?
Research verse 55:18 →
مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
He let loose the two seas so that they meet together,
Research verse 55:19 →
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
Between them is an interval; neither of them seeks (to overreach).
Research verse 55:20 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:21 →
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
From both of them emerge the pearl and the coral.
Research verse 55:22 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the empowering acts of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:23 →
وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَٰمِ
And to Him belong the coursing vessels, raised up in the sea like landmarks.
Research verse 55:24 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the endowments of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:25 →
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
Every one who is upon it is perishing.
Research verse 55:26 →
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
Yet the face of your Lord will remain, possessor of the majesty and the honoring.
Research verse 55:27 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the bounties of your Lord will you both deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:28 →
يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍ
Everyone in the heavens and the earth asks of Him; every day He is in a concern.
Research verse 55:29 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the powers/signs of your Lord do you deny as lies?
Research verse 55:30 →
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ
We will soon devote Ourselves to you, O two weighty ones,
Research verse 55:31 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benevolent acts of your Lord will you treat as a lie?
Research verse 55:32 →
يَٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَٰنٍ
O assembly of the jinn and the human beings, if you are able to pass through from the extremities of the heavens and the earth, then pass through; you will not pass through except with an authority.
Research verse 55:33 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as false?
Research verse 55:34 →
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
A blast will be sent against you from fire, and [a torrent of] molten metal, so you two will not be able to help yourselves.
Research verse 55:35 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the powers/signs of your Lord will you two treat as a lie?
Research verse 55:36 →
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ
Then when the sky splits, and so it becomes like a rose, like oil.
Research verse 55:37 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the powers/signs of your Lord will you two treat as a lie?
Research verse 55:38 →
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
So on that Day no human and no jinn will be questioned about his/its liability.
Research verse 55:39 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the powers of your Lord do you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:40 →
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ
The criminals will be recognized by their mark, so they will be taken by the forelocks and the feet.
Research verse 55:41 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benevolent acts of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:42 →
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
This is Jahannam, which the criminals used to deny.
Research verse 55:43 →
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ
They circulate between it and boiling hot water at its peak.
Research verse 55:44 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the bounties of your Lord will you both deny?
Research verse 55:45 →
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
And for whoever feared the standing before his Lord, there are two gardens.
Research verse 55:46 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the endowments of your Lord will you two treat as a lie?
Research verse 55:47 →
ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍ
Both of them possessing diverse offshoots.
Research verse 55:48 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the bounties of your Lord will you two deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:49 →
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
In both of them are two springs, flowing.
Research verse 55:50 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:51 →
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
In both of them, from every fruit, are two pairs.
Research verse 55:52 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the powers and beneficent acts of your Lord will you deny as false?
Research verse 55:53 →
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
Reclining upon couches, whose inner-linings are of fine brocade, and the yield of the two gardens is near at hand.
Research verse 55:54 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as false?
Research verse 55:55 →
فِيهِنَّ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
In them are ones restricting the glance, whom no human has ever touched before them, nor any jinn.
Research verse 55:56 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as false?
Research verse 55:57 →
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
As if they were the ruby and the coral.
Research verse 55:58 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the bounties of your Lord will you both deny as false?
Research verse 55:59 →
هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَٰنُ
Is there any recompense for excellence except excellence?
Research verse 55:60 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:61 →
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
And apart from those two, there are two [other] gardens.
Research verse 55:62 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:63 →
مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ
Two intensely darkened [gardens].
Research verse 55:64 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the bounties of your Lord will you both deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:65 →
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
In both of them are two springs, gushing abundantly.
Research verse 55:66 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:67 →
فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ
In both of them are fruit, and date-palms, and pomegranates.
Research verse 55:68 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the bounties of your Lord will you both deny as false?
Research verse 55:69 →
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌ
In them are excellent, beautiful ones.
Research verse 55:70 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the bounties of your Lord will you both deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:71 →
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ
Wide‑eyed ones, confined within the tents.
Research verse 55:72 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you deny as a lie?
Research verse 55:73 →
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
No human has ever deflowered them before these, nor any jinn.
Research verse 55:74 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benefits of your Lord will you two treat as a lie?
Research verse 55:75 →
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ
Reclining upon green spreading‑cushions and fine, beautiful furnishings.
Research verse 55:76 →
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the benevolent acts of your Lord will you two treat as a lie?
Research verse 55:77 →
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
Exalted is the name of your Lord, Possessor of majesty and generosity.
Research verse 55:78 →
