وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ صَفًّا
By those who arrange themselves in ranks,
Research verse 37:1 →
فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا
then by those who drive with a driving,
Research verse 37:2 →
فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا
then by those who follow with a reminder,
Research verse 37:3 →
إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ
Indeed, your god is surely One,
Research verse 37:4 →
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and Lord of the rising-places.
Research verse 37:5 →
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ
Indeed, We have adorned the lowest sky with an adornment: the stars.
Research verse 37:6 →
وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ
and as a guarding from every defiant satan,
Research verse 37:7 →
لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
They do not try to listen in to the highest assembly, and they are hurled away from every side,
Research verse 37:8 →
دُحُورًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ
As a driving-away; and for them is a persistent punishment.
Research verse 37:9 →
إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ
except one who snatches a snatching, then a piercing flame follows him.
Research verse 37:10 →
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ
So ask them for a ruling: are they tougher in creation, or those whom We have created? Indeed, We created them from clinging clay.
Research verse 37:11 →
بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ
No indeed; you are astonished, while they ridicule.
Research verse 37:12 →
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ
And when they are reminded, they do not take heed.
Research verse 37:13 →
وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
And when they see a sign, they seek to make [others] scoff.
Research verse 37:14 →
وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
and they say, “This is nothing but evident sorcery.”
Research verse 37:15 →
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
“Is it that when we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be ones resurrected?”
Research verse 37:16 →
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
And [even] our earliest forefathers?
Research verse 37:17 →
قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
Say, “Yes, while you are humbled.”
Research verse 37:18 →
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
So it is but a single driving‑cry, then suddenly they are looking on.
Research verse 37:19 →
وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
And they will say, “Alas for us! This is the Day of the Judgement.”
Research verse 37:20 →
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
This is the Day of Separation which you used to deny.
Research verse 37:21 →
ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ
“Gather those who did wrong, and their counterparts, and what they used to serve.”
Research verse 37:22 →
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
apart from Allah. Then lead them to the path of the Blaze.
Research verse 37:23 →
وَقِفُوهُمْ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ
And halt them; indeed, they are ones who will be questioned.
Research verse 37:24 →
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ
What is [the matter] with you that you do not help one another?
Research verse 37:25 →
بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ
No indeed; today they are ones who have submitted.
Research verse 37:26 →
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Then some of them turned toward others, asking one another.
Research verse 37:27 →
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
They will say, “Indeed, you used to come to us from the right side.”
Research verse 37:28 →
قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
They will say, “No; rather, you were not believers.”
Research verse 37:29 →
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍۭ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَٰغِينَ
And it was not for us to have any authority over you; rather, you were a people who exceeded all bounds.
Research verse 37:30 →
فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ
So the word of our Lord has truly become binding upon us: indeed, we are surely ones who will taste.
Research verse 37:31 →
فَأَغْوَيْنَٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ
So we led you astray; indeed, we ourselves were astray.
Research verse 37:32 →
فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
Then indeed they, on that Day, will be joined together in the punishment.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
Indeed, just like that We act with the criminals.
Research verse 37:34 →
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
Indeed, they used to, whenever it was said to them, “There is no god except Allah,” act arrogantly.
Research verse 37:35 →
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ
and they would say, “Shall we indeed be abandoners of our gods for the sake of a mad poet?”
Research verse 37:36 →
بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Rather, he has come with the truth and has affirmed the messengers.
Research verse 37:37 →
إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ
Indeed, you will surely taste the painful correction.
Research verse 37:38 →
وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
And you are not repaid with anything except what you had been doing.
Research verse 37:39 →
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
Except the purified servants of Allah.
Research verse 37:40 →
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
Those – for them is a provision that is known.
Research verse 37:41 →
فَوَٰكِهُ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ
Fruits, and they are ones shown honor,
Research verse 37:42 →
فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
In gardens of bliss.
Research verse 37:43 →
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
Upon couches, facing one another.
Research verse 37:44 →
يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ
There is passed around among them a cup from a flowing spring.
Research verse 37:45 →
بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ
White, a delight for those who drink.
Research verse 37:46 →
لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ
In it there is no ruinous effect, and from it they will not be drained (of their senses).
Research verse 37:47 →
وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ
And with them are ones who confine the glance, wide‑eyed.
Research verse 37:48 →
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
As if they were concealed eggs.
Research verse 37:49 →
فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Then some of them turned toward others, asking one another.
Research verse 37:50 →
قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ
A speaker among them said, “Indeed, I used to have a close companion.”
Research verse 37:51 →
يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ
He would say, “Is it really that you are indeed among the confirmers (of this as true)?”
Research verse 37:52 →
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ
“Is it that when we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed surely be judged (held to account)?”
Research verse 37:53 →
قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ
He said, “Are you ones who will look down (to see)?”
Research verse 37:54 →
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
So he looked down, and then he saw him in the very middle of the Blaze.
Research verse 37:55 →
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ
He said, “By Allah, you almost caused me to perish.”
Research verse 37:56 →
وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
And were it not for the favor of my Lord, I would surely have been among those made to be present.
Research verse 37:57 →
أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
So is it then that we are not to die,
Research verse 37:58 →
إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
except for our first death, and we are not ones to be punished.
Research verse 37:59 →
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
Indeed, this is surely the tremendous success.
Research verse 37:60 →
لِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَٰمِلُونَ
For something like this, then, let the doers do.
Research verse 37:61 →
أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
Is that better as hospitality, or the tree of zaqqūm?
Research verse 37:62 →
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Indeed, We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers.
Research verse 37:63 →
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
Indeed, it is a tree that emerges in the root of the Blaze.
Research verse 37:64 →
طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ
Its fruit-clusters are as if they were the heads of the devils.
Research verse 37:65 →
فَإِنَّهُمْ لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
For indeed, they will surely be eating from it, then filling from it the bellies.
Research verse 37:66 →
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
Then indeed, they will surely have upon it a mixture from scalding-hot water.
Research verse 37:67 →
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
Then indeed, their return is surely to the Blaze.
Research verse 37:68 →
إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ
Indeed, they found their fathers to be astray.
Research verse 37:69 →
فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ
so they are being rushed along upon their traces.
Research verse 37:70 →
وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
And indeed, before them, most of the former ones went astray.
Research verse 37:71 →
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
And indeed We certainly sent, among them, warners.
Research verse 37:72 →
فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
So look, then, how the outcome was for those who had been warned.
Research verse 37:73 →
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
except for the devoted servants of Allah.
Research verse 37:74 →
وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ
And indeed Noah called upon Us, and how excellent We are as responders.
Research verse 37:75 →
وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
And We delivered him and his family from the tremendous distress.
Research verse 37:76 →
وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
And We made his offspring the ones who remained.
Research verse 37:77 →
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
And We left upon him among the later ones,
Research verse 37:78 →
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Peace upon Noah among all communities.
Research verse 37:79 →
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Indeed, in this way We recompense the ones who excel in doing good.
Research verse 37:80 →
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, he is from among Our servants who are secure in faith.
Research verse 37:81 →
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
Then We drowned the others.
Research verse 37:82 →
وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
And indeed, Abraham was surely from his faction.
Research verse 37:83 →
إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
when he came to his Lord with a sound heart
Research verse 37:84 →
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ
When he said to his father and his people, “What is it that you serve?”
Research verse 37:85 →
أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
Is it a fabrication—gods apart from Allah—that you seek?
Research verse 37:86 →
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
So what is your assumption about the Lord of the worlds?
Research verse 37:87 →
فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ
So he cast a glance toward the stars
Research verse 37:88 →
فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ
So he said, “Indeed, I am sick.”
Research verse 37:89 →
فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ
So they turned away from him, retreating with their backs.
Research verse 37:90 →
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
So he slipped away toward their gods and said, “Will you not eat?”
Research verse 37:91 →
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
What is [the matter] with you that you do not speak?
Research verse 37:92 →
فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ
Then he turned upon them, striking with the right hand.
Research verse 37:93 →
فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ
So they turned toward him, rushing.
Research verse 37:94 →
قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ
He said, “Do you worship what you yourselves carve?”
Research verse 37:95 →
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
while God created you and what you do.
Research verse 37:96 →
قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
They said, “Build for him a structure, then throw him into the Blaze.”
Research verse 37:97 →
فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ
So they intended a scheme against him, but We made them the lowest.
Research verse 37:98 →
وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
And he said, “Indeed, I am going toward my Lord; He will guide me.”
Research verse 37:99 →
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
My Lord, grant to me [a gift] from among the righteous.
Research verse 37:100 →
فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ
So We gave him good news of a gentle, self-restrained boy.
Research verse 37:101 →
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ قَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Then when he reached the stage of striving together with him, he said, "My dear son, I am seeing in the sleep that I am sacrificing you, so look: what do you see?" He said, "My dear father, do what you are commanded; you will find me, if Allah wills, among those who endure."
Research verse 37:102 →
فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ
So when the two had yielded themselves, and he laid him down on his brow,
Research verse 37:103 →
وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ أَن يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
And We called out to him, “O Abraham,
Research verse 37:104 →
قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
You have indeed confirmed the vision. Surely, in this way do We recompense the doers of good.
Research verse 37:105 →
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ
Indeed, this was the evident test.
Research verse 37:106 →
وَفَدَيْنَٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice.
Research verse 37:107 →
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
And We left upon him among the later ones,
Research verse 37:108 →
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Peace upon Abraham.
Research verse 37:109 →
كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Thus do We recompense the doers of excellence.
Research verse 37:110 →
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, he is from among Our servants who are secure in faith.
Research verse 37:111 →
وَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِإِسْحَٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet among the righteous.
Research verse 37:112 →
وَبَٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ
And We blessed him and Isaac, and among their descendants is one who excels in doing good and one who is clearly wronging his own self.
Research verse 37:113 →
وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
And indeed We bestowed (Our) favor upon Moses and Aaron.
Research verse 37:114 →
وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
And We delivered them both and their people from the tremendous distress.
Research verse 37:115 →
وَنَصَرْنَٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
And We helped them, so they were the ones who prevailed.
Research verse 37:116 →
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ
And We gave both of them the manifest Book.
Research verse 37:117 →
وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
And We guided both of them to the straight path.
Research verse 37:118 →
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
And We left upon both of them among the later ones,
Research verse 37:119 →
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.
Research verse 37:120 →
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Indeed, in this way We recompense the ones who excel in doing good.
Research verse 37:121 →
إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, the two of them were among Our faithful servants.
Research verse 37:122 →
وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
And indeed, Elias is surely among the ones sent.
Research verse 37:123 →
إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
when he said to his people, “Will you not protect yourselves?”
Research verse 37:124 →
أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ
Do you call upon Baʿl and leave aside the best of the creators,
Research verse 37:125 →
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your earliest forefathers.
Research verse 37:126 →
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
So they denied him, and indeed they will surely be made present.
Research verse 37:127 →
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
Except the devoted servants of Allah.
Research verse 37:128 →
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
And We left upon him among the later ones,
Research verse 37:129 →
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
Peace upon Ilyāsīn.
Research verse 37:130 →
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Indeed, in this way We recompense the doers of excellence.
Research verse 37:131 →
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Indeed, he is from among Our believing servants.
Research verse 37:132 →
وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
And indeed, Lot was surely among the envoys.
Research verse 37:133 →
إِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
when We delivered him and his people, all together,
Research verse 37:134 →
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
Except an old woman, among those who remained behind.
Research verse 37:135 →
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
Then We annihilated the others.
Research verse 37:136 →
وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ
And indeed, you surely pass by them in the early morning,
Research verse 37:137 →
وَبِٱلَّيْلِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
and at night. Will you not then use your intellect?
Research verse 37:138 →
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
And indeed, Jonah is surely among the envoys.
Research verse 37:139 →
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
when he fled towards the fully-laden ship
Research verse 37:140 →
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ
So he cast lots, and thus came to be among those overpowered.
Research verse 37:141 →
فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
So the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy.
Research verse 37:142 →
فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ
Then, were it not that he had been among those who declare glory,
Research verse 37:143 →
لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
he would certainly have remained in its belly until the Day they are raised.
Research verse 37:144 →
فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ
So We cast him upon the bare open ground, while he was ailing.
Research verse 37:145 →
وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
And We caused to grow over him a tree from creeping vegetation.
Research verse 37:146 →
وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
And We sent him to a hundred thousand, or they were more.
Research verse 37:147 →
فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
So they trusted, and so We let them enjoy [worldly benefit] until a [set] time.
Research verse 37:148 →
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
So ask them for a ruling: “Are the daughters for your Lord, while the sons are for you?”
Research verse 37:149 →
أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثًا وَهُمْ شَٰهِدُونَ
Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnessing?
Research verse 37:150 →
أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ
No indeed—surely, from their fabrication they are truly saying,
Research verse 37:151 →
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
“God has begotten [offspring],” while indeed they are surely liars.
Research verse 37:152 →
أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ
Has He selected the daughters over the sons?
Research verse 37:153 →
مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
What is [the matter] with you? How are you judging?
Research verse 37:154 →
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Will you not then remember?
Research verse 37:155 →
أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ
Or do you have an evident authority?
Research verse 37:156 →
فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
Then bring your writing, if you are truthful.
Research verse 37:157 →
وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
And they have set up between Him and the jinn a kinship, while the jinn have certainly known that they will indeed be brought (forth).
Research verse 37:158 →
سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Glory be to Allah, [He is] above what they describe.
Research verse 37:159 →
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
Except the purified servants of Allah.
Research verse 37:160 →
فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ
So indeed, you and what you worship
Research verse 37:161 →
مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ
you are not, over it, ones who can put to trial,
Research verse 37:162 →
إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
except the one who is an entrant into the Blaze.
Research verse 37:163 →
وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
And there is none among us but that he has a designated station.
Research verse 37:164 →
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
And indeed, it is surely we who are the ones standing in ordered rows.
Research verse 37:165 →
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ
And indeed, it is surely we who are the ones who glorify.
Research verse 37:166 →
وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ
And indeed, they were surely saying,
Research verse 37:167 →
لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
“If only there were, with us, a reminder from the former ones,”
Research verse 37:168 →
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
we would surely have been the purified servants of Allah.
Research verse 37:169 →
فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
So they covered it over, so they will soon know.
Research verse 37:170 →
وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
And indeed, Our word has already gone ahead for Our servant-messengers,
Research verse 37:171 →
إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ
that it is they who are indeed the ones given help.
Research verse 37:172 →
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ
and that, indeed, Our forces — they are the ones who prevail.
Research verse 37:173 →
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
So turn away from them until a while.
Research verse 37:174 →
وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
And observe them, for they are indeed going to observe.
Research verse 37:175 →
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
So is it then Our repair-punishment that they are seeking to hasten?
Research verse 37:176 →
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
Then when it comes down upon their courtyard, how bad is the morning of those who were warned.
Research verse 37:177 →
وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
And turn away from them until a time.
Research verse 37:178 →
وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
And observe, for they will indeed observe.
Research verse 37:179 →
سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Transcendent is your Lord, Lord of the might, above what they describe.
Research verse 37:180 →
وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
And peace upon the messengers.
Research verse 37:181 →
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And all praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all realms.
