Surah At-Tawbah (9:31)
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَٰنَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَسِيحَ ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَٰهًا وَٰحِدًا لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
They took their scholars and their monks as lords apart from Allah, and [likewise] the Messiah, son of Mary; yet they had not been instructed except to serve one god—there is no god except Him. Highly exalted is He above what they make Him share in.
