Surah At-Tawbah (9:114)
وَمَا كَانَ ٱسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَن مَّوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَآ إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥٓ أَنَّهُۥ عَدُوٌّ لِّلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَأَوَّٰهٌ حَلِيمٌ
And the seeking of forgiveness by Abraham for his father was only on account of a promise he had promised him; then when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to God, he disowned him. Indeed, Abraham is surely oft-sighing, forbearing.
