Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:52)
فَتَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِيهِمْ يَقُولُونَ نَخْشَىٰٓ أَن تُصِيبَنَا دَآئِرَةٌ فَعَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِٱلْفَتْحِ أَوْ أَمْرٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَيُصْبِحُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَسَرُّوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ نَٰدِمِينَ
So you see those in whose hearts is a sickness rushing eagerly toward them, saying, “We fear that a turn (of fortune) may strike us.” But it may well be that Allah will bring the opening, or a matter from Himself, and then they will become, over what they concealed within themselves, regretful.
