Surah Al-Fath (48:10)

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَايِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ يَدُ ٱللَّهِ فَوْقَ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَمَن نَّكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ وَمَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِمَا عَٰهَدَ عَلَيْهُ ٱللَّهَ فَسَيُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

Indeed, those who pledge with you are only pledging with Allah; the hand of Allah is above their hands. So whoever breaks (it) only breaks against his own self, and whoever fully keeps what he has pledged with Allah, then He will soon give him a tremendous reward.
