Surah Al-Ahqaf (46:28)
فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُرْبَانًا ءَالِهَةًۢ بَلْ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنْهُمْ وَذَٰلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
So why, then, did those whom they had taken, apart from God, as nearness‑offerings—gods—not help them? Rather, they were lost from them. And that is their perversion, and what they used to fabricate.
