Surah Al-Baqarah (2:177)
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the rising-place and the setting-place, but righteousness is [that of] whoever has trusted in God, and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Book, and the prophets; and has given wealth, despite love of it, to close relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the son of the path, and the askers, and for [the freeing of] necks; and has upheld the prayer, and has given the purifying-dues; and those who fully honor their covenant when they make a covenant; and the ones who restrain themselves in hardship, and in harm, and at the time of conflict. Those are the ones who have been truthful, and those — they are the ones who are mindful [of God].
