Surah Al-Baqarah (2:158)
إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ ٱلْبَيْتَ أَوِ ٱعْتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
Indeed, the Safa and the Marwah are among the marked rites of Allah. So whoever makes pilgrimage to the House or visits it (in devotion) – then there is no burden upon him that he go repeatedly around/ between them. And whoever volunteers any good – then indeed, Allah is Appreciative, Knowing.
