ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ
Proclaim by the name of your Lord, the One who created,
Research verse 96:1 →
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
He created the human being from a clinging clot.
Research verse 96:2 →
ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ
Read, while your Lord is the most honoring.
Research verse 96:3 →
ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ
the One who taught by means of the pen,
Research verse 96:4 →
عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ
He taught the human being what he had not known.
Research verse 96:5 →
كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ
No indeed, the human surely oversteps.
Research verse 96:6 →
أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ
because he perceives himself as without need.
Research verse 96:7 →
إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ
Indeed, to your Lord is the return.
Research verse 96:8 →
أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ
Have you considered the one who restrains
Research verse 96:9 →
عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ
a servant when he performs the prayer
Research verse 96:10 →
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ
Have you considered: if he is upon the guidance,
Research verse 96:11 →
أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ
or commanded [others] to [be in] conscientious restraint?
Research verse 96:12 →
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ
Have you considered: if he has denied and turned away,
Research verse 96:13 →
أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ
Does he not know that Allah sees?
Research verse 96:14 →
كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ
No indeed! If he does not desist, We will surely seize (him) by the forelock,
Research verse 96:15 →
نَاصِيَةٍ كَٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ
A forelock that lies, that sins.
Research verse 96:16 →
فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ
Then let him call his council.
Research verse 96:17 →
سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ
We shall call the Zabāniyah.
Research verse 96:18 →
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب
No indeed! Do not obey him; and prostrate, and draw near.
